You are excellent; the way you explain it, is so well. We need that kind of explanation, no promotion, no advertisement, just pure helpful information. I can’t thank you enough. Today is my first day I found your RUclips channel, and I’m lucky both of us from same city.
You guys are rockstars! So much to learn in your videos and your enthusiasm for growing a thriving garden and functioning ecosystem is infectious. Love it!

Thank you so much for such a good video! It answered many questions I had about Shatoot Mulberries. Mine is currently fruiting for the first time in a large pot here in London England. Happy gardening Joe
Thanks for the video! I planted a mulberry 'white berry' 2 years ago as an stick. I hope it will become a tree like yours. It didn't grow very vast last year, maybe this year it will shoot up!
Jian, I did the summer pruning on my white young shatoot mulberry after the first fruiting, as you suggested, and guess what!! More mulberries on the new growth! Thank you. I'd have never guessed this could happen.
Thanks so much as your intro which answered many questions I had in regarding to fruit value, yields, size, ornamental value, sun energy utilization and birds pest issue. The last thing for growing fruits tree is found out wrong location 5 years late or wasting 10 year with no fruits.
I've been looking forward to planting a White Shatoot. Thank You for this great vid! We currently have a Weeping Mulberry and it is delish! Yours is the first video I have seen that mentions pruning after the first blush of fruit to get a second crop later that same year! I'll be pruning the Weeping Mulberry tomorrow! We're in Tucson, AZ, USA (high desert with caliche and rock riddled 'soil'), so everything we have in our food forest has to be able to take brutal May thru Oct sun and survive our hideous dirt. Planting trees entails at least a 50-50 mix of native dirt with compost in a wide, deep hole and then 6" to 10" of wood chips out to the dripline with serial top dressings of compost throughout our growing season. Frequent deep watering is a must if you want live fruit trees. Thanx again for your great video!
I'm growing over a dozen varieties here--all in 100% native soil with modest watering. They all do well and sail through the summers. Vigorous and productive.
Based on your top 5 berry video I bought a White Shahtoot - and it arrived today. Very excited to also find *this* video, which is so so SO helpful - thankyou! .I'll definately be tying down the branches and when it gets big enough, pruning the tips. I'm not a million miles from you - in Gippsland so hopefully it will like our climate, main dilemma now is trying to work out where it will go :)
@@dra6417 I got mine online from Ross Creek Tropicals in Qld. Despite a long delivery time due to coming from QLD to Vic, it was packaged so well that it arrived in really good condition.
The wild red kind keep popping up by themselves in my yard. The leaves make good tea. Some say they make a fine cooked green too. Going to try that next.
Hi Jian, love your videos so much! I would love to grow these but I can't find them in any store near me. Where do you buy from? (I'm in the south-east of Melbourne).
I'm on the south coast of Victoria but bought mine from Ross Creek nursery in QLD. A beautiful healthy tree arrived by mail and it's grown so well! I'd highly recommend them.
I have a Pakistani mulberry I left in a pot near my house and it’s roots went in ground it’s now like 8 feet tall should I put away from my house Are there root systems invasive
Good video! I'll try to grow some. They are very expensive here in Florida. I'm sprouting Moringa trees ,about 40. I'm not experienced at all this but I own land and the world is going to be in trouble soon for food. It's already started, wait till world War 3!

Thanks so much Cathi, hope you are all well x 💚 💚
Stripping the entire branch of it’s leaves will produce mulberries up to tree time a year. They do it in some countries for higher yields.
