my tip for drinking more water, is before every meal drink a glass (will also make you eat healthier and boost your metabolism) and whenever your craving food, you might just be thirsty, so chug a glass of water. Wait about 15 minutes and then see if you're still hungry.
USCHI LOU I know! I feel bad because it always seems to be during 5th period in school. I don't want my teacher to think I am doing it on purpose, but the teacher I have next doesn't let ANYONE use the bayhroom
Hi !! =) Why don't you try 5 Days of Brain exercise, like brushing your teeth with the opposite hand, take different routes to go your commons places, etc. It's proven that increases the creativity and is awesome for the brain.
+Stefania Ionescu I was thinking of doing something like this in the future! Each of the experiments has affected me differently. I've taken learnings from each! For instance, I still keep coconut oil on my desk as a moisturizer (5 days 1 jar of coconut oil), my phone and bag are still SUPER organized (5 days of minimalism), I've continued drinking TONS of water (even more than is featured in this video!), I've also cut back on tons of processed sugar, and MORE!
+butterfly3183 I agree! I'm not muslim but I fast 1 week during Ramadan...it's tough but at the end it makes you feel like you've accomplished something great :)
The more you drink plain ol' water, the more you want it. I used to be repulsed by plain water, but now it's all I drink and I don't even think about it. No coffee, no tea either.
My drinking schedule tends to revolve around meals so: wake up and down 2 glasses of water Before breakfast 1 glass of water Before lunch 2 glasses of water Before dinner 2 glasses of water Before bed 1/2 a glass Plus a water bottle that I drink through the day and another full one for when/ if I work out and I get in all my water needed!
Could have done without the "poop hitting the toilet bowl" ish sound effects on the transitions but that is a small point. This video was so fun to watch. Long live Try Living with Lucie!
Awesome video! I love watching these every Friday! I drink 4L of water a day (134 ounces) and I love switching it up! But for protein and flavor I make a huge glass of chia seed, lemon, and ginger water everyday. So good and filling! (Don't water your plants with that drink though) you will find little chia sprouts a few days later) 😆
Wellllll I got the flu 1 week later 😳 lol jk they're definitely not connected. I couldn't tell you if I got healthier overall in just the 5 days of doing this, but I definitely FELT great! Plus I think knowing that I was hydrated helped me mentally - I felt more awake!
I make sure to drink at 10:00am (/when I wake up), 11:00am, 12:00pm, 2:00 pm, 4:00 pm, 6:00 pm, 8:00 pm, and 10:00 pm (/before I go to bed) no matter how thirsty or not I am. I also eat tons of fruits and veggies as I'm vegetarian and it really helps me to ensure my water intake will be adequate! I used to neverrrr drink water, and I can guarantee that this is one of the easiest ways to make a dramatic step in the right direction in terms of health.
For those who find drinking water hard, I suggest you get one of those bottles of concentrated flavor enhancers, sweetened with stevia. It gives a tart sweet flavor, that you can control. A little goes a long way and if you add some sliced lemon or lime it tastes great
Try having a 600ml bottle which is about 2 1/2 glasses of water and drink one during the morning, one during the afternoon and the last one in the evening which sums up to about 8 glasses. Personally i think it makes it easier.
Love this video! Those are great ways to get more water!! That was really helpful and inspiring. I have been drinking around a gallon of water every day for over a year, and on weekends it is hard to stick with that. But flavored waters and smoothies are great ideas for my weekend slumps!
i tried this challenge last summer for 1 month and the result was amazing! Clear skin (face and body) , more energy, less headache and i lost around 5 kg without even doing sport activities!
I read that your body really can only benefit from X amount of water at a time. If you flood your system with water all at once, you won't get the same benefit as you would get from drinking that water throughout the day. Not sure if this is true, but it sounds reasonable.
Amber Magnolia I think it's true at the start. If you go from no water to 60+ ounces a day it could throw your body off, but it'll become your equilibrium soon enough and start to benefit from it
I use the app Hydro Coach to help me with my hydration goals. I'm able to reach my goal of 128 oz per day without a problem. Your body will adjust to the additional water consumption so you won't have to pee all the time.
LOVE THIS GIRL! gives me motivation to drink water for 30 days also have me lots of ideas on how to keep a schedule & drink water & eat water based veggies. I'm thinking when I'm done with my 30 days I might try it again sometime! Makes me feel great & so healthy
I also have problems with energy and I'm low on iron so I think this will help a lot! Has so many benefits already. And for me I don't get hungry a lot and water fills me up if I put fruit in it
I use Plant Nanny to track my water intake. It calculates the amount of water you need based on your height/weight, and lets you set an alarm to remind you to drink water. You can vary the type of vessel you're drinking out of and the size (200ml-700ml), and the plants are so cute! Everytime you drink a cup of water, you "water" your plant. Its a lot of fun! And it keeps me accountable.
A way that I stay hydrated is to drink 8oz at a time and every other one has a water flavor it’s a nice treat after a regular water but make sure to drink it in an hour wait an hour then the next. Love you Lucie
And I agree. The peeing thing is annoying. I already pee enough as it is, and when I get 64oz or more it's tripled. It sucks but at least your hydrated!
Get a fun waterbottle! A plain, boring glass never inspired me to drink more but once I got a fun, easy to carry around the office water-bottle, I started drinking a ton, and when I forget it, I forget to drink. BKR makes SUPER fun ones.
I drink a quart of water first thing in the morning. I’ve been doing this every day for nearly 30 years. I had to work up to it at first but I find it very easy to do. I have never had a cup of coffee in my life but I find the water to be very energizing.
one fun way to keep hydrated is by using the app "plant nanny" every time you drink water you also water your plant. if you're not hydrated your plant isn't hydrated and it dies! you get to collect super cute little plants and it makes staying hydrated into a game.
I've been trying to keep more hydrated too, and I just bring a bottle of water to work and make sure I fill it up at least once. Depending on how thirsty I am, I'll go through 2-4 500mL bottles. Yesterday I think I did 3 or 4, since the weather was so humid. I drink steadily through the day and the bottle is always at my desk.
I got a half gallon water bottle! I am usually up for the day around 530- so I try to finish one bottle before 3 and then I refill and finish it before I go to bed around 930! Your body will adjust to all the water!
I drink a gallon of water a day which is double what you are drinking and let me tell you, going to the bathroom 20 times a hour does get better! The more water you drink, the more your body gets used to it and then you don't have to pee as much. I also use a 30 oz tumblr so I only have to drink 4 of those. Thanks for the video :D
Plz do a video of u being in schedule you know like being in time for everything and having a really fit and tight schedule. I hope you use this idea Lucie. I am asking you this because I wanna try it too and I wanna see it from someone else's perspective
I have a 64oz water bottle that I use at work, and it is super easy to drink it all before 5pm. Little sips here and there, I add ice at lunchtime, and before I know it the water is gone. I even have to refill before work ends sometimes! After work I don't have to worry about hydration for the rest of the night, even though I usually have tea or wine if I feel like it. Bonus--doing all the extra peeing at work is better. More breaks throughout the day! haha
I usually stay hydrated by being reminded by an app. The app helps me with keeping track of how much water I drink. It's truly great to bring a bottle or a flask when going to school or work and that way I stay hydrated:)
For a busy schedule at work where I forget to drink while working in high altitude ski resorts- downloading a water app was my life saver. People thought it was strange but when they hung around me long enough they got to know what my alarm sounded like, they found themselves saying "Alysha drink some water" but actually drinking along with me.
First thing I do when I wake up is pound down 32oz of water. A few things come from doing this, 1) flushes your system of 8 hours of build up, 2) jump on hydration after so many hours of not drinking, and 3) helps get your morning bathroom schedule undercontrol. Your body has a "purge" system in place, reason why you have to urinate/defecate after you over eat. This will help you establish a morning schedule and stay hydrated.
One thing that works for me is using a 32oz mason jar. 2 of those a day equates to the daily recommendation. I usually get through 3-4 a day. I aim to drink the first 32oz (room temp) in the morning before i leave the house, one cup with lemon juice. If im lucky, i can get another 32oz in on my commute. If not then i try to drink it first thing when i get to work. That way Im aleady 64oz in even if I dont drink anymore water for the day (and that can be possible). Not always perfect, but Ive been able to commit to the first 320z before I leave the house almost daily.
I stumbled across this 5 day hydration challenge video of yours and then ended up watching it plus 17 more of them back to back ...lol! I like them and find them interesting and entertaining! Plus I like your personality. Now I'm back here to leave you a comment since it is the most recent one and you might actually see it. : ) As I skipped around from one video to another, I decided that you could try combining some of the things you found valuable. For example...... I'm a total night owl and do love sleep, and I also like the idea of how we are able to be more productive in one day when we get up early. Total opposites of each other, I know, but they both have their own pros and cons. Because it doesn't go with your 5 day challenges, you'd have to try it for yourself personally .... but hey, I still think It could be great! Unless you think you can do a 5 day challenge picking 5 of the things you found the most value in and somehow combined them mix and match style to see if you could implement all 5 of them into the same week. Then comment on if it was your best 5 day week ever??!! Personally, I think 10 hours of sleep per night is too much sleep. Between 7 and 9 hours a night is recommended. Getting up at 5 am for me is no fun, but getting up at 6 am or 7 am could be more manageable. So how about going to bed at 10 pm and getting up at 6 am? Meditating at night or the in the morning for 10 minutes instead of 20 min, eating vegan 2 days out of the 5, use coconut oil in your hair/as a makeup remover/with a few drops of essential oil as a moisturizer for face &/or body/cook with it, going on a free date once during that 5 days and having your friends over one night for another one of those part homemade/part pot luck nights. Only one coffee per day and 5 or 6 glasses of water instead of 8 ... 1 warm lemon water and the rest fruit water. I've been meditating more days than not over the past year. Recently found out about an app called Calm and love it. My longest streak so far is 10 consecutive days meditating before I miss a day or two. I started at 5 min and worked myself up to 20 min, but most days I fit in 10 minutes and I'm proud of myself! SO!!! Looks like I ended up writing you a book of a comment and somehow tied 7 or 8 of your videos together. Now I want to delete this comment, but I am going to do the "uncomfortable" thing and press "post" instead. After I copy and paste it on a sticky note because I think I will try to do a 5 day challenge of my own. The same combination one I just suggested to you! : ) Except I don't like coffee..... Thanks for all the great ideas!!! Some I do most of the time already, some I do occasionally, and some I've never tried.
I'd love to see a vid about 5 days or for eating raw! Maybe with an element of sourcing organic and local food. As someone living and working in the city I'd loooove some tips on where to source local and ethical produce
When you first start drinking more water, it is necessary to go potty more. Once your body adjusts to more water, your bladder increases it's capacity and you don't need to go as often, but you will go more in quantity. FIY :)
64 oz. is a generalization. Specifically, most people are supposed to be drinking at least half their weight in ounces a day Example- if you're 150 pounds, you should drink at least 75 ounces of water a day. If you're trying to lose weight, increase that to your full weight in ounces a day. If you work out, drink even more than that to replace the water you lose in sweat.
I'm getting back into this, my mom used to literally limit my bathroom times because I would drink the recommended while nobody else would around me, and I was that kid that got water instead of soda at Mcdonalds. So now that I don't have to hold those limits, I can finally drink the amount that I need!
I'm Indonesian and a lil bit shook when she drinks directly from the tap. And that jar, mostly in our country that usually used as a cookies jar😅 But however love ur videos! Keep on making 5 days of!
Every day I try to drink at least 1,5L of water. Usually I squeeze some lemon in for better taste. I really see the difference in my body after I started drinking more water. My skin is more healthy, the cellulitis on my legs decreased. I always keep a bottle ow water in my bag :)
I really like these '5 Days Of...' when you incorporate things into your life rather than remove things.
5 days with no mirror
That would be really hard, but I think the idea is awesome! :)

How would driving a glass of water before a meal make you eat healthier.
Cat Hepburn You learn to portion your sizes and not overeat :)

GamerGirl 15 Maybe cycling too? I couldn't manage with only walking as my school is in another city
GamerGirl 15 she lives in NYC, people usually always walk.
Can you make a video abot how this experiments changed your life? Like do you still meditate, or do you eat less sugar now?
+Stefania Ionescu I was thinking of doing something like this in the future! Each of the experiments has affected me differently. I've taken learnings from each! Madison Wilson that's a lot of water!
what about health?did it have a positive impact on your skin?your overall wellbeing?
Wellllll I got the flu 1 week later 😳 lol jk they're definitely not connected. I couldn't tell you if I got healthier overall in just the 5 days of doing this, but I definitely FELT great! Plus I think knowing that I was hydrated helped me mentally - I felt more awake!

That's a great idea!
I make sure to drink at 10:00am (/when I wake up), 11:00am, 12:00pm, 2:00 pm, 4:00 pm, 6:00 pm, 8:00 pm, and 10:00 pm (/before I go to bed) no matter how thirsty or not I am. THIS IS MY FAVORITE THING TO WATCH
Except I don't like coffee..... Thanks for all the great ideas!!! Some I do most of the time already, some I do occasionally, and some I've never tried.
I'd love to see a vid about 5 days or for eating raw! Maybe with an element of sourcing organic and local food. As someone living and working in the city I'd loooove some tips on where to source local and ethical produce
i love lucie fink!!!!!!!
When you first start drinking more water, it is necessary to go potty more. Once your body adjusts to more water, your bladder increases it's capacity and you don't need to go as often, but you will go more in quantity. FIY :)
I try to do at least 2 quart size mason jars a day, with more if I work out. I find that I'm usually able to drink one jar pretty quickly.
I'm curious to see how to implement this when traveling when such resources are not available
Had to subscribe. You kept my attention the whole time talking about water that's skill!
64 oz. is a generalization. Specifically, most people are supposed to be drinking at least half their weight in ounces a day
Example- if you're 150 pounds, you should drink at least 75 ounces of water a day. If you're trying to lose weight, increase that to your full weight in ounces a day. If you work out, drink even more than that to replace the water you lose in sweat.
the sound of your alarm is scary and funny at the same time haha!
Five days without going outside 😀
5 days of doing stuff out of your comfort zone perhaps?
Love your videos Lucy! =)
I'm getting back into this, my mom used to literally limit my bathroom times because I would drink the recommended while nobody else would around me, and I was that kid that got water instead of soda at Mcdonalds.
So now that I don't have to hold those limits, I can finally drink the amount that I need!
another fun episode and I loved the tips! really helpful hydration alternatives thanks! 😊
I'm Indonesian and a lil bit shook when she drinks directly from the tap. And that jar, mostly in our country that usually used as a cookies jar😅
But however love ur videos!
5 days of gymnastics
5 days of going to new places
5 days of talking to strangers
5 days of sleeping outside
