Nice to see you poppin' out a new vid! I've long been tempted to try out the Sentinel. Stars never aligned though, maybe someday. All the reviews seem to indicate it would match up well with my riding preferences, plus Transition is a great company.

You all must not have watched the whole video - That's how much I paid to upgrade from my last bike. Is it clickbait in that it draws people in - absolutely. Is that the true price I paid out of pocket for getting this bike - absolutely.

I paid 125k pesos (2.9k cad) for an spez enduro 29/6fattie medium 2018, had a fox x2 170mm rear and fox 36 170mm, had xt 12 speed groupset, xt 4pot brakeset and a fox transfer dropper post, the frame was aluminum but the parts were nice, owner had ridden it but was not using the bike at its full potential, it was probably the luckiest buy in my life

Almost bought a Ripley but felt the same thing, I’d probably be super happy with it 80% of the time but the 20% would put me in the “I’m going to seriously injure myself” category. Went with the ripmo af and couldn’t be happier.

Got it. Buy a frame with no warranty. Get as many things as possible gifted to you. Then it is way cheaper than buying the things at market value.

I can relate. This is the same type of argumentation that I used to justify buying a new bike to my wife.

Nice vid, reminds me of what I usually do with phones and computers, you can upgrade for really cheap if you buy bargains and then sell at normal 2nd hand market price.

Can I ask why didn’t you continue with your Advent X drivetrain? It seemed like you were really sold on it during the last few builds. I’m just curious because I was going to go Microshift for an upcoming build.
I did a similar thing except i sold my dj bike and older endero bike for a value of about 5k then I picked up a 4 year old top speced Santa Cruz nomad for 5500$
How is 5000=3000=500USD? I get the upgrade but the bike is not 500USD by any means.

I did something similar, where I took my V1 Ripmo - GX build, sold it to my brother for around $3500, then turned around and bought another V1 Ripmo - XT Build with Ibis Carbon S35/I9s ( what I initially wanted) for $4500. So this costed me $1K which is pretty good.
I'm curious about the Sentinel. Since you previously reviewed the V1 Ripmo and are familiar with Ibis bikes, how does the platform compare with regard to climbing and overall pedal efficiency? Thanks!

How much travel are you running on the ZEB fork?
I love how u say ur last bike want capable enough yet I do downhill riding on a 115mm trail bike which is plenty capable
I mean there is making it down, and then there is making it down with even less regard for yourself
Yeah that bike looks fantastic I really love the geometry of it and everything I have no idea how it would ride I'm a hard tail riding fella. It just looks awesome.
I loved my sentinel too, I got the spire and felt even better on it, but now I have the repeate too, aka, sentinel with pedal assist, it's so fun to ride, and it smashes..let's ride soon buddy..shred on!

I recently bought a transition Sentinel alloy 2022 year and sold my RipMo Af. Now my bike is a custom buildup and I am having difficulties with suspension set up and getting my Sentinel with fox performancely suspension to feel right ? now on the Ibis I had DVO and I’ve had rock shock before but for some reason the fox 36 with the grip to damper and the float X rear shock just don’t feel as nice or as plush or as something so what do you recommend??
I commented over there - but in short, you're not alone in finding it hard to make a 36/x2 plush!

Having experience getting industry discounts this is just not accurate. For some components you can get over 50% off. The only reason I have a $2-3k bike is because of those discounts. If I had sold my previous bike the build would have been free. If I didn’t have the discount I would be out $2000+

I dunno if I’d call that a full on enduro… the patrol I got definitely feels more all mountiany to me. Either way it’s my first transition and I’m loving it with some minor changes.
