LESSON ASSIGNMENT
1. How many progressive slot machines at your casino(s) have labeled MUST HIT BY, MUST PAY BY, or WIN BEFORE amounts shown? Examples from Atlantis Reno are below.
2. If your casino has these machines, look around. Do “slots stalkers” watch them yet at that casino?
3. Check your casino's progressive slot machines for capping. In other words, if progressive jackpots climb and climb, then stop climbing despite people playing them. Airports and riverboat casinos (and others) do this.
4. Within your favorite progressive slot machine’s Game Rules, or perhaps on a small label on the front the machine, look for progressive jackpot limits. Are there any?
5. From your favorite progressive slot machines, pick one and bet $20, $50, or $100. Report back exactly how much bankroll you spent along with how much each progressive increased. This is an OPTIONAL assignment.

Each week, we will be diving into understanding what goes into leaving with our winnings from a casino visit, understanding what casino elements are designed to prevent us from doing so, and what we can learn and perhaps instill in our responses to be better at leaving with your hard-won slot machine winnings.

There is the “outer game” based on what we see and are influenced by (casino marketing). Then there is the “inner game” based on what we’ve observed and understand (our thoughts). On a scale of 1 to 7, how well would you say you perceive the “outer game” of casino slot management? (1 for not at all, 7 for fully)
