HiBrow: Series One

Series One: Summer 2023
Brianna Jimenez met with Nicole Yarling, Kandy Lopez and Nerissa Street in their studios and homes in South Florida to learn more about their artistic practice and hear their individual stories. The first in this series focuses on women of color, Black and Afro-Latina women, practicing various mediums of art.
The following conversations have been edited for brevity. The hope is that these conversations not only uplift the voices of artists but encourage the public to engage with art in new ways; offering ideas and paths for all to engage in “hibrow“ practices.
