      Woah what a rig! Will need to use some big fuses or circuit breaks for that big unit, the more load on the wheels and rack, the more amps the pump will pull!

      Yessir, all the same except you would have the rack fittings on the same side as so would need far less hose and maybe some 180 degree fittings off the rack to get the hoses headed towards the pump 😎

    • @Carls_Built

      Great question! Yes it can be wired that way.
      You would take the 12v signal from the ecu to the fuel pump relay and splice into that to also be the signal (12v on) for a power steering pump relay 👍

    See how it goes when your doing fast lock to lock , a lot of people say it get heavy due to the can bus wires not being connected they can sense engine speed and applied torque but mist people don't connect those wires , so it's kinda running in default highway mode, unable to tell if your really getting into it , hence heavy steering they need a mod so they can tell the difference between heavy steering line parking the car or highway cruising, in its present format in can't tell the difference.

    • @Carls_Built
      @Carls_Built  2 года назад +1

      The pump alone can in fact adjust its pressure output without connecting those additional wires. Under heavy slow loads it ramps up its speed to assist with more input and reduces accordingly 👍

    • @Carls_Built
      @Carls_Built  2 года назад +1

      I believe I ordered 4 meters of hose for this job 👍 The breaker is just an everyday unit I got online hey, heaps of options and 80% are the same thing with huge variations in price so do some shopping around. You can even use an inline amplifier fuse setup too if you get stuck

The oem one is with and inverted flare and I have a really hard time finding one of those over here. Did you just use a normal straight m16x1.5-AN6 fitting and no issues with leaks?

      The stock subframe supports both manual and power steering. The bracket that’s holds the rack onto the subframe is different so you’d have to get a power steering rack bracket/bolts.

    • @Carls_Built

      Same reason you don't tuck oil coolers there.. the car gets the occasional track day and a visit into the sand trap would potentially damage the system and, also, the washer unit is there too now as its a road registered car 😎

      I guess thats an option but I've seen this setup on larger cars, bigger wheels, semi slicks, drift setups etc and yet to see an astra setup with an additional cooler.. I think it maybe due to the sheer amount of fluid and the pumps ability to vary its flow/output electronically, heat isn't an issue 🤔
