    Beauden Barrett scored the winning try for New Zealand in this year's world cup; so he is bound to get some uber recognition now! :D

    Seriously impressive player with good pace. Crudeness is slightly more solid at the moment but I wouldn't be surprised if Barrett is first choice in the not too distant future

      I completely agree. Cruden does have that defensive mongrel in him that Barrett doesn't quite have yet, but Barrett is by no means the defensive liability he once was.

    The amazing thing about guys like Beauden, Ben Smith and Christian Cullen is that although they are all slightly built (compared to their colleagues) they make up for it with their X Factor and super strength. First time I saw guys like B Smith and Barrett, I thought.. Man!!! these guys are gonna get butchered by the Boks, but what can you say about his series winning try. Pure and utter unbelievable class. Just hope he puts on a stone of muscle, and keep his pace. Only thing he needs work on a bit more is his defence

      Yea looks can be deceiving, cullen was known at the hurricanes as being 2nd only to Bull allen on bench press.

      wattienz Barrets actually quite big. 6"2 104kg

    • @wattienz
      @wattienz 9 лет назад

      Ty Sim Thats very deceiving. I actuallyy had to google the stats and you are right. Its just that he looks so skinny compared to the others. Adam Thompson was another who's height was deceiving. Think he was 6ft 7. Damian McKenzie though is one who needs to bulk up if he wants to make the All Blacks. Leigh Halfpenny was the only player in recent Wales teams to be under 6ft, but he is pure muscle

    • @tylersim9025
      @tylersim9025 9 лет назад

      wattienz
      McKenzie could be a great player, give it 2 years though. Once everyone in super rugby has got used to his skillset it will be much harder to be dominant in play. The hard part is playing well when everyone knows your moves. I don't think he will ever be an All Black but he's doing alot of things defensively I didn't think he could do. In his case his small size makes him better because he's harder to get a hand on.

    the distance he covered and speed to knock Le Roux (who is also insanely fast) into touch, was fuckin incredible..

    I think Beaudy will be the starting fly half for the AB's by the 2015 WC. However, everyone saying Cruden has to up his game, or Barrett will take his place might not know about how the all blacks work. Instead of competing for places in the staring lineup, they each group with their respective position's to better each other.

    It's getting harder and harder to defend Cruden over Barrett with his form over the past 2 seasons. I seriously think he'll quickly become the AB's front runner is Cruds doesn't pick up his game.

    You know whats even worse, beauden has a brother Jordie Barrett who will be playing for the Hurricanes in 2017 and may even make it to the all blacks one day. He's a little smaller and has a similiar body build also his playstyle is EXACTLY the same.

    • @thijssteeg6506

      he'll be playing ireland i believe next weekend

    • @biggest23
      @biggest23 7 лет назад +1

      Beauden is 6ft 1 & 1/2'' and 92kg. Jordie is 6ft 5'' and 96kg. Jordie will be packing on some more muscle mass as he matures, so he'll most likely be 103-105kg when the trainers get him where they want him.

  • @SaintArcane

    Since you guys already have Cruden and Carter, may we borrow Barrett for the world cup? SA has a bit of a lack of good flyhalves at the moment.

    • @SaintArcane
      @SaintArcane 9 лет назад

      ***** Steyn's not great at attacking backline play, he's 90% kicker and 10% playmaker (see: Bulls rugby), Lambie is solid/reliable enough, but he'd not reach anyone's top 10 flyhalves of the world list. As for Pollard, he's still young and all, so he will probably get better, but he's pretty subdued if he doesn't have a dominant forward pack... ideally I don't think you'd want a 21yr old flyhalf in high pressure world cup knock out games. We'll see how he does in the 4 Nations I guess.

    • @SaintArcane
      @SaintArcane 9 лет назад +1

      +NZ Meta I know right? Most predominantly a coach it would seem. Hopefully with Willie le Roux, Damian de Alende, Dwayne Vermeulen and Willem Alberts ready to play he will leave some of the retirement-home residents out of the squad. He also needs to put Eben Etzebeth in place of old greybeard Matfield. Really has to replace scrumhalf too.
      As things stand, I bet even our super 15 teams would've beaten that team that disgraced the green&gold on saturday...

      The Flather True but from what I've seen Barrett is the better goal kicker, he's faster and he's bigger. Both have good running games though and I think we'll see some kind of rotational thing going on in a few years.
