  • Episode Description: We’re surprised and delighted this fine Monday… by Mr. J.J. Abrams. This wildly creative filmmaker and musician gives us an hour inside his brain. We’re humbled by his request to audition for SmartLess advertising reads, we’re warned not to go down the rabbit-hole of modular synthesis, and we learn the genesis of the term “blockbuster.” All of this while Sean wears his Tatooine hat to impress J.J. (who doesn’t even notice).

Been here for months. Glad everyone is finally finding it. The low sub count was baffling there for a long time. 🥞

Thank you for bringing up Felicity 💜 Everyone who interviews J.J. Abrams always acts as if it didn't exist. And yes, I get that in the grand scheme of his career it's considered peanuts but that show was freaking gold at the time it came out and it literally me life and it deserves to be more than a one line mention! So, thank you.

The joy of the show is not that they have access to high profile guests. The genius is that they utilize the guest(s) as a tool, not unlike brass knuckles, to bludgeon one another at every turn.

The term blockbuster comes from the Studios coupling high demand movies swith flops.. forcing the theaters to screen the less desired movies if they wanted to have access to the "hits". The term originated way before Jaws. ... or at least that is what the History of Motion Pictures class I took indicated.

Hate to hear movie makers push going to the theater. It’s just so they can make mor money. Most have big atV’s at hoem with surroind sound. The experince is great. We’re nit all watching a movie on our phones in bed.

Star Wars Ep 7 was a terrible, awful movie, ... basically a very bad copy of the great Ep. 4 A New Hope,
