Chris - some lovely drone footage (and general videography) on this one. Some of my best & favourite memories are from when I was younger and went walking/caving/climbing with my folks as a kid. Well done Tom and Emilie as well, keep it up - and don't forget every walk gets a hot chocolate/ice cream (seasonal charges apply!) upon completion
It's 'No Country for Old Men' Chrislad; your two padawans stole the show. Naturals in front of camera and funnier than their al' fella!😜🤣 This is great stuff!
Getting them to do some proper hill walking is fantastic. Scrambling is great fun and so important to learn about. Loved the black and white section too. Well done you three, top film.
So awesome to see you getting out with your kids and there having fun quite recently My kids have been coming out with me around the sussex Downs keep up the good work
Great watch with the family and brings back brilliant memories for me as I remember climbing St Ravens Crag with my two lads, which has to be 30 years ago now on a warm summers day. I also remember coming down that rocky scramble with my mate just over a year ago in torrential weather and that rock was not fun, so the kids did well getting up and down it. Great to see it cleared up and some magical scenery when you were on the tops but it did look dam cold with all that ice about. Great drone footage and very insightful assessment of the climb by Emilie, in eating more sausage rolls, a person after my own heart :o) Shame you did not go onto Hartsop Dodd, which was not that further away but either way, a great family Winters walk out, cheers Alan
Sounds like top memories there mate - we only just got back down with enough light safety margin, I didn't want them up there in the dark even though we had a head torch each - will build them up to that :-) Thanks for watching mate and ATB
Fantastic day out with your kids Chris, memories made to last forever. I remember doing the same walk with my daughter when she was about 10 or 11, and our dog who was about 13. I thought I was going to have to carry the poor dog at the end, although she enjoyed herself immensely 😂. Catbells is great with kids, as is Haystacks, which is a bit harder.
Considered Cat Bells mate, but thought that safer terrain would be a greater bet given the forecast - will build them up a bit more and then start hitting the beasts in summer I hope. Cheers for watching pal
Looked a cracking day out for the family. You should try a walk up the Coppermines valley at Coniston and then on up to Levers Water. The kids would love it there. Nice one Chris 👌
Can’t wait to do this with my 2 boys done it with my fury boy a couple years ago he loved it absolutely buzzing for all of us to do it! Also love this channel mate ended up hear from blot out doors big love 💙
brilliant stuff mate.make the most of it before they start doing their own thing.I remember kitting my daughter out to take her to the hills when she was little.atb
What a great day out you guys had. You seem to make up a super team on the trek there. Lots of skill development and confidence building - and your kids did well too ;) I don't think I have been up to that summit, looks a good one. Nice vid, cheers, Warren :)
Good stuff mate. We weren’t far away from you up at troutbeck. Good conditions for hiking then. They seem to be getting the bug. Next they’ll want a hilleberg tent each. Rab bag. Mountain equipment coats. Etc etc 😂 😂Send lottery win.
Another great video, Chris! Really enjoy it when you bring your children along. Pretty challenging climb that everyone worked through well. Have a good week. Cheers, Denis
Loved that video. I was on Stony Cove yesterday too! I could have had a double sighting of RUclips royalty after spotting Wardle in the pub later on haha. So atmospheric up there wasn't it. Cold wind though.
Haha - quality. Yes, wind chill became interesting as the light was fading. Really atmospheric up there in those conditions - love it when it's like that!
nice walk that.. Stony cove, lovely safe grassy mound.. you would have walked past your abandoned winter wild camp site about a year or so back.. did you get flashbacks? haha

That’s a great circular from Sykeside. Up through the valley then down the ridge…such a great walk.
Classic, affords stunning views in the right conditions - wild campers dream that area
