Love your music. Makes it feel like a nostalgic dream. Yeah, Some of these animated movies were so short. I went to see Mrs Doubtfire on a Saturday night and my friend’s dad dropped us off. Movie was sold out. We had to go see « We’re Back: A Dinosaur Tale ». Movie was like 72 minutes. Nothing bad happened in the movie…just good times then it ended. We waited an hour in the lobby for my friend’s dad to pick us up. No one had cell phones back then.

Great stuff as always! I recently scored the "American Tale" soundtrack on cassette for ten cents at a thrift store. I loved those Turtles Burger King tapes as a kid. My favorite was "The Great Boldini." I had the X-men tapes that came from Pizza Hut as well and watched those a lot. Do you remember "The Cartoon All-Stars to the Rescue"? It was the first VHS tape I found about a year ago that got me into collecting VHS as I remembered it from childhood. It's an anti-drug PSA with a bunch of cartoon characters in it. As a kid, I loved it because so many characters interact together (ALF, TMNT, Alvin, Slimer, Smurfs, etc.)

Wow! Thanks for the shoutout man, I really appreciate it! I'm trying to think, but I remember watching an episode of the original Ninja Turtles cartoon on VHS during one of my hospital stays, but I don't remember which tape it was. I don't think it was any of the Burger King Kids Club releases, but considering the children's hospital I went to had so many VHS tapes, it's actually possible that they did have at least one of the Burger King releases. I also had the 1991 VHS re-release of An American Tail as my grandmother got it at the same time as Fievel Goes West. I didn't own The Land Before Time on VHS when I was a kid, but my brother-in-law owned the same release that you have, so when he and my sister went up to visit his family for Christmas back in 2022, he brought it back for me and gave it to me, so that's front and center in my VHS collection today. There was also a third Care Bears movie, The Care Bears Adventure in Wonderland, which is the one my parents rented for me alot when I was a kid, though they did rent The Care Bears Movie, and I saw Care Bears Movie II: A New Generation at school one time, when I was in Kindergarten or the first grade. I also have the same VHS copy you showed off in this video, in my collection currently. My best friend found it at a yard sale or something last year.

@@tgif1345 very cool! And no problem at all. There’s something about these cartoon tapes that I love.

@@TheCassettePhase They were unique, because, like I said in my blog post, TV shows on VHS were rare, and maybe you couldn't always watch a certain show on TV when it aired, either because it had already ended and your local channels didn't air it in reruns, or simply because you didn't get the channel that particular show aired on. Particularly the cartoons that aired in first run syndication. But, if you had at least one of the episodes on VHS, you could still watch the show. And same in the case of animated movies. You might live too far away to go to the theater to see a new movie, but until that new movie came out on VHS, you still had your favourites to watch on a Friday or Saturday night.

@@TheCassettePhase Right? I mean my parents couldn't afford to take me to the theater to see movies all that often. Plus, being in the hospital so much wasn't conducive to such an endeavor, but I could watch movies on VHS. Oh, and fun fact, my dad actually worked at Burger King for a bit in 1990, so I got some of the Burger King kids meal toys, including the ones they released of the Kids Club kids.

I had a couple of the Burger King TMNT tapes back in the day, I don't think they played very well on our VCR though (even after adjusting the tracking). I see they were recorded in SLP, which was the same as EP I believe, so I guess that was the problem.

forgot about land before time, definitely was awesome. I had all the puppets too, not sure whatever happened to them, for some odd reason I have a memory of me and the neighbor kids playing with them and the Bambi toys in a birdbath which is pretty disgusting in hindsight. Never liked captain planet, it was always on before wcw on tbs so I usually caught the end of it, I was just always wanting it to get over so wrestling could start 😂 still remember the theme song and could probably sing it word for word even now haha.
