Santa Claus and the Magic Drum (1996) with English subtitles

This Finnish-Hungarian animation based on the work of Mauri Kunnas was traditionally shown on telly every Christmas, so I grew up watching this over and over again. I always thought it'd be fun to show this piece of my childhood to some of me mates but I never really felt like I could 'cos:
1) The English dub of the film comes across as a relatively low effort deal. Most of the voice actors sound amateurish and it's severely lacking in charm.
2) The already existing fanmade English subs were made by a Finn who obviously doesn't speak English as their first language, so all the dialogue is very basic and stilted.
So, being the horrible nitpicker that I am, I took it upon meself to lovingly craft some proper subtitles. I tried my best to inject a solid amount of personality into the dialogue, providing characters that have particularly distinct voices with thicker accents and retaining rhymes whenever necessary. All names have been anglicised save for a few locations, and I still thought it important to retain Santa's helpers as gnomes instead of elves, as is traditional in Finnish Father Christmas lore.

I just watched this wonderful Christmas movie at the suggestion of my Finnish friend. I'm pretty familiar with foreign films and the issues involved with translating films and writing subtitles, but you did a phenomenal job with this movie Tömmey Pinkiemonkey! Thank you for making so good subtitles for the movie, that I don't actually have to mind anything aside my own joy, while watching the movie.

Täydellinen käännös. Muutamassa kohdassa on jotain pientä, missä korostaisin esimerkiksi teksasilaista murretta tjsp, korostaakseni tiettyä suomalaista murretta. Joka tapauksessa, pakotin yhdysvaltalaisen kaverini katsomaan lehvan kanssani tekstityksillisäsi ja molemmilla minulla, sekä hänellä on pelkästään kehuja. Thank you so much for sharing this wonderful Christmas cartoon. I have been looking for it for a long time without success. Not until now. The name of the shaman is not Vekara in the Danish version that I saw as a child. In Denmark his name is Rascal (Which is not really a Danish name, so I wonder why they changed the name). Wonder if his name is Rascal/Rascol or Vekara in other countries?
