    he's a Polish-American, although he doesn't speak Polish, he's got the r1a1 genes which are most prevalent in Poland. He's the Mariusz Pudzianowski of arm wrestling

  • @SDSen
    @SDSen 13 лет назад +5

    @kasparov9 , He was unstoppable in 2006 & would defeat Devon & Alexey he was at his optimum strength & at the peak of his craft at that point, his loss to Ferit was INSIDE a full on deep hook match it was suicidal to hook with Ferit at that point of his career because he like John was also at his career best in 2006 John could've easily toprolled him a hundred times over but wanted to test his abilities & feel his awesome strength in a hook playing into the opponents area of dominance

    @SDSen Sure I agree a 230lbs John is a monster, like the one that beat Denis 5-1 in 2009, would love to have seen that John against Devon, don't know why a rematch never took place, I think due to all of John's injuries.

  • @NemeanLion-
    @NemeanLion- 17 лет назад

    I don't even watch arm wrestling and that was f'ing awesome.

  • @SDSen
    @SDSen 13 лет назад

    & from one poster who witnessed the matches a Canadian, he said that John had the upper hand, if it were a best of 6. But it's only one view, the other factor there was that John was at 217lbs in his match with Devon. A John at 230lbs in the shape he was in 2006 is a different animal altogether but i'd still say it would be close. Alexey for similar reasons i'd rather not elaborate before an influx floods the forum.:)

  • @kasparov9
    @kasparov9 13 лет назад

    @SDSen Very brave of John to do that, playing with his opponents strengths, did John have any other amazing feats in 2006? I want to know why he would beat the Devon of today and Alexey? I mean Devon is very strong and has amazing endurance, how would he beat him? Alexey also?

    @LukyGTAS 13 лет назад

    @kasparov9 You're right, since he toprolled him the year after, I agree that John just tested him in his strongest move - hook. Seeing as Farid climbs in the rankings nowadays, IMO he's getting really close to his top shape and maybe if he will be dedicated enough, he will be in the top 3.

    @SDSen I went through northboard but could not find mention of that training session, there are so many posts:) Though his buddies that have commented on here I asked who was stronger, and they mentioned Devon. Biased I guess, would have been nice to get a neutral opinion.

  • @IconicBattles
    @IconicBattles 17 лет назад

    That guy was Marcio Barboza, who has been continually defeated by Brzenk and Travis Bagent in recent competitions. Barboza (at the time ranked 5) also suffered a lost to rank 17 competitor - Mike Todd within the last year. I guess staying off the roids hasn't helped the brazilian.

  • @brentlionakaboldchamp
    @brentlionakaboldchamp 12 лет назад

    That`s simply because they are mostly pulling each other (vs making it a pushing match as most inexperienced wrestlers do), which takes most of the pressure off the long bones of the arms. Also....the bones are stronger.

    @LukyGTAS This Farid was placed very high in Engin's 10 best of the last 10 years...very good question. But John intentiaonally goes into Farids strong point the hook, when he could have top rolled him.

  • @SDSen
    @SDSen 13 лет назад

    @kasparov9 ...Well they say that' there's a high possibility he would, given his immense power & skill & hunger from 2006. He would've cruised through a 2008 Devon, but IMO i'm not sure about the Devon of today though honestly he stands a good chance, If you go through the Northeast Board about the table practice match that happened between Devon & John in Canada when John trained with the High Hookers before his match with Arsen, he had a couple of intense matches with Devon contd..

    When you look at your hand while arm wrestling, and work on correct form, there is little chance of you breaking your arm, and you`ll realize this as well, because you`ll feel strong, and there would be little to no pain.

  • @kasparov9
    @kasparov9 13 лет назад

    @SDSen Engin Terzi just named the 2006 version of John as the best of the last decade, he thinks that version would beat Devon and Alexey, would you have any idea why? Was John unbeatable in 2006? I mean he loses here to Ferit in a match. I can't see him beating say a 2008 Devon that beat him 6-0.

  • @kasparov9
    @kasparov9 13 лет назад

    @bogdychamp I respect your opinion, but you talk about Voevoda like it's a fact that he was the strongest ever...it's simply opinion and speculation. He may very well have been but we dont know, if he comes back in 2014 and loses to Devon in a match, I suppose that myth will be busted..

    Yes...world's strongest hook 2006.

  • @LukyGTAS
    @LukyGTAS 13 лет назад

    @kasparov9 Yeah, John always loves to test everyone, but still his hook was super strong back then (and still is), looks like Farid was the only one who beat him that year. Also, maybe John wanted to toproll Farid but he didn't let him, who knows... Do you know what was up with Farid all those years till now? I see he's no.7 in the world today, but I'm quite sure I didn't see him ranked in top 10 in the last 2 years or so.

It's about CHOICE, taking too much aspirin can kill/harm you also, eating too much junk food can, smoking can, playing football can, driving a car, drinking too much alcohol,flying in a plane, as many other things, ect. ALL these Law Makers that say this and that on banning this and that have taken away our liberty to choose for our selves and punish us with jail time and fines when we do choose for ourselves, I'm not a sheeple slave dude, be indoctrinated if you want.

    there is far more than just being very strong. There is a lot of form involved in arm wrestling, for instance, you will probably notice they john has his body positioned at an angle which allows him to hold back usmanov despite his incredible strength.
    strength is not everything in armwrestling.

John toprolled Farid the year after at Nemiroff easily, and don't think there are too many that can stop John toprolling them, I think he just wanted to beat Farid in his area of strength.
