@@yeehaw7362 really interesting that you say that. I didn't think I'd ever really find someone who noticed that detail or voiced it. You're right. I saw it too. He led into his own later actions as average people do with their actions in the real world. He clearly scared the eagle off and set into motion its actions to lead into attacking komugi. It's the consequence of choice. He was set out to kill her, yet, he set in motion what would lead to his heart reacting before his mind could even understand. It compelled him until the end and thus, he died happy. He and komugi exercised choice until the end.
I think the moment stands out so much because beforehand he had so much conviction to kill her, but when he see's her getting hurt all of that conviction crumbles. There was zero hesitation in saving her, that eagle got 100 to 0 in a fraction of a second, and this came from the same guy who just decided to kill her.
Her role in the story was both small and greatly important. She, while completely oblivious to it, brought forth the humanity in Meruem and changed him. Their scene at the end always hits hard. Two people at opposite ends of the spectrum, brought together by a game, and becoming entwined in each other's fate.
Meruem and Komugi's story was very similar to a shakespearean tragedy if it didn't surpass it. Growing up reading and watching Romeo and Juliet didn't affect me nearly as much as their story has. The monster who became more humane than the humanity surrounding him and the girl who never knew her own worth until said monster showed how much he valued her. Only for them both to die due to forces outside of themselves. This broke me
It’s almost like over the centuries you can write stories which surpass the old ones. That doesn’t devalue the older stories, if anything it values them higher since the newer ones wouldn’t exist without them. But yes, in a vacuum Meruem and Komugi are MUCH more engaging than Romeo and Juliet
Honestly I think it's one of the best story arcs in all of fiction. The final scene with Meruem and Komugi is an instant tear jerker no matter how many times I see it
komugi’s treatment by her family continues to make one question what truly defines being human, when the line between “man” and “monster” is so fine - not just in hxh, but in the real world as well. komugi taught meruem what it’s like to be truly “human”, and through his own growth, he was able to reciprocate her sentiments and free her from a life lived for a family of people who would never be more than monsters. people forget that komugi and meruem’s relationship is a two-way street, in which both individuals have things to offer and receive. this video was a great reminder of how beautiful their relationship is. your analysis is insightful as usual, thank you for the wonderful video!
You're welcome, and I totally agree! Given Meruem's extensive progression it's natural that he outshines Komugi, but she's a beautiful character in her own right and an equal contributor to their relationship without a doubt :)
the funny thing is that this is in no way different of how many families treat their children, some times its even a cultural thing. If the children does not achieve it's treated like trash (as of Komugi would describe herself if she ever lost a game)
Without even knowing it, Komugi saved the world. Meruem changed his whole outlook on life based on her, and the time he spent with her made him more and more human so that he saw all living beings had a value. This was more a father to daughter love, or two best friends who enjoy a similar activity, but it was so powerful that he wanted to protect her at all costs and to spend his last moments of life with her, just as she looked forward to each day with him doing what she enjoyed the most. At first I did not really enjoy HxH, but the Kimera arc was soo good it raised the whole series up to another level.
i still feel as if Netero would have beaten Meruem. Meruem is hella strong but he still stands no chance against the poor mans rose. The Chimera Ants were destined to fail
@@kigonkiganoaoa9848 yes, but thanks to komugi, meruem was acting more, how to put it, respectively towards netero. he was not going all out with his strength and even wanted to calmly discuss their matters. he saw their fight like a match of gungi.
@@kigonkiganoaoa9848 idk if meter would've been able to beat meruem because it would've been u likely they could properly seperate the king from the Palace. I think worst case everyone part of this would've died because pitou would've merked gon and killua, pouf probably would be in the same situation, and pitou could've joined youpi and both of them would've immediately wiped shoot and knuckle. Zeno would've probably stayed cus his job was to seperate the King I'm not sure how much help he would've been to betero but once pitou and youpi joined the fight it would've been over regardless after that the rose would've nuked them and killed everyone standing at the selection. So komugi saved everyone at the Palace essentially which for the reader might as well have been the world.
The king might have been stronger if he didn't spend so much time with Komugi, but he wouldn't have been nearly as intelligent. Netero always had his ace in his pocket, as well. Not to mention, I believe in the following arc they state outright that there are a lot of people stronger than Meruem was, and considering it took an easily mass produced bomb to kill him, many methods that could have been used to dispose of him too.
It’s interesting how she gets progressively more beautiful as the arc goes on. She starts as a snotty nosed little girl, but then we see her blue eyes, smile, she looks more like a grown woman by the end. Maybe it’s Meruem seeing her through rosy glasses, like a new couple.
Meruem also looks kinder and with more human facial expressions at the end. The opposite is also true for Gon and Killua. Some people really praise the 90's version but that was all dark edginess. Madhouse version was really good in telling the story and its emotious through different lenses and lightning.
@@sweetlyte you guys are weird. I saw their relationship more resembeling a caring father and a loving daughter then a couples relationship. Not everything in anime has to be weird
@@mustafaal-ghezi1757 a couple's relationship isn't "weird". Maybe you should unlearn that, because it is as beautiful as other kinds of relationships. Also, you're talking about a fantasy series with a blind girl who may be a teen and an.... ant who wasn't even a month old haha - it _is_ nonsensical if you place human morals on these characters' connection but in terms of storytelling, the mangaka did an awesome job representing them through the narrative.
"Surrounded by people that don't value you, you begin to see in yourself exactly what others see in you. And if they don't bother to treat you like a person worthy of respect and love, you begin to think the same way and dehumanize yourself." Hefty stuff right there. Highly relatable to myself and many others, I'm sure.
Fun fact: Komugi (小麦 )is translated as 'wheat' in English. It has a spiritual symbolism all throughout history, it means love, charity and resurrection and also means prosperity. It is a staple grain of the ancient times and a shortage of wheat could mean famine and death. Perhaps Komugi is the 'wheat' of Meruem, his prosperity and his means of growth and subtly without telling it directly to us, is his love.
The first time i watched this arc, at first i thought Komugi was really annoying as a character but with every appearance from her, my opinion gradually changed to the point i wanted to see more of her because i ended up finding her somewhat relatable.
And if you think about it... that’s exactly how Meruem saw her in the beginning, too. And with each interaction he slowly warmed up to her because he found her somewhat relatable.
I must admit that when the Chimera Ant Arc first introduced Meruem, I was not impressed. He was a good terrifying villain, the type I have loved in other shows, but this was Hunter×Hunter, and the previous villains were so interesting and layered that to me he was at first a far too simplistic villain for the likes of this show. Then, enter Komugi. OMG, when I saw her enter the room, all I could think was: "OMG. She's blind! This is it! He's powerless against her!" Now, when I saw "powerless" I don't mean that in the traditional sense. Obviously, he is far more powerful than her. He could kill her as easily and with as little effort as swatting an annoying fly. What I meant by that was that in all of Meruem's previous opponents, he terrified them. He didn't have to necessarily act threatening towards them, his clearly non human appearance was more than enough to scare them shitless and throw them off of their games. But with Komugi being blind, Meruem lost that advantage. She can't see that he is not human. All she can hear is a very intelligent and human sounding voice. So to her he is simply another human. And as time went on she humanized Meruem, and the transformation the two of them underwent thanks to each other was just incredible. I full on sobbing ugly cried when they died in each others arms. The impact Komugi had on this arc is truly what makes it so great.
Komugi also seems like a weak little girl at first, but she's got icewater in her veins and tempered steel in her soul from facing death every time she played Gungi, while also being almost the polar opposite of Meruem: Humble and self effacing to his prideful and arrogant nature. It's truly a case of Opposites Attract, and arguably also a very subtle retelling of Beauty and the Beast.
So I literally was thinking about this for last couple of weeks, as no one has ever made a vid on Komugi ,and was going to make a thread on reddit. But you made this video and gave Komugi's character way more justice than I could've ever been able to give in the thread. You literally put all of my thoughts that I've been having about Komugi's character in this video and gave me the biggest smile of my life. The timing of this coincidence could not have been more perfect. Also I never made the connection between Ant Queen's definition of Mereum and him actually becoming it. Just not in the way the Queen imagined it. I wholeheartedly thank you for making this !!
Aleczandxr, you've made this MeruKomu fan's whole year. Komugi is so beautiful and seeing her character explored like this is so nice. A beautiful video about one of the most beautiful characters. Thank you so much
An yes, this right here is what we all needed. It hits differently during the holidays too, just in time. Remember your self worth everyone, you are important to someone even if you don’t see it. You Matter!
05:17 keeping this in mind, if we take a look at the ED from chimera arc (Hyourri Ittai/ED 5), you notice that both Killua and Komugi are shown on the white side of the Gungi piece, while Gon and Meruem are on the black side. May just be overanalysing it though.
I dunno, I both agree and disagree. I think at first she might have had some nen involved just because of the inherent relationship it has with any genius in the world of HxH, but I don't think she was actually using nen as a means of getting better at gungi until the moment Meruem sensed it awakening in her, and thus her ability up until that point wouldn't have been effected by a restriction. But that's just my take, haha.
The Chimera Ant arc is just so layered and nuanced. She grew up in an environment that told her repeatedly that her life was worth nothing. Meruem, on the other hand, was constantly reminded that he was the pinnacle of existence, the most valuable being. Her nen awakens and it is only good for Gungi, nothing else. Meruem realises that. Her nen overwhelms her with all those greatest moves she could never have imagined before, not without having Meruem pushing her towards such high levels. He doesn't know what to make of all that. He can never beat her. Should he care? Brute force is stronger. Kill her then? No. Protect her. She is a worthy human being, more than she realises. He wants her by his side. In fact, for him she is the most valuable human being, because she is the only one who wants to know his name. She does not expect strength from him. He is worse than her at the game, and she does not look down on him. On the contrary, she appreciates him. She loved him more than anyone else, because he made her the best Gungi player that ever lived, he made her be her best self, he made her worthy, he valued her life. And he loved more than anyone else because she made him human. He realises how privileged humans are. They can be weak and still be loved beyond measure by those close to them.
Christmas' tears, just what I needed. I didn't think Komugi could do this again to me, but you once again illuminated a character I alreadly loved. Thanks Alec, Meruem.
Komugi is a character that I underestimated in the beginning, but have grown so deeply fond of over the course of the arc. Thank you for this video and bringing me to the verge of tears with so many beautiful emotions. With all your HxH videos you really created a space of beauty on RUclips that I find myself visiting again and again. I love listening to the unique points of view you are portraying and the way you present them is so amazing (one of my most favourite videos on YT ever is your video on shaiapouf). Thank you for this video and your continued hard work 🥰
Each human is capable of unique mastery in an infinite number of skills. That was something Merurem realized from Komugi. On the other hand, your own life is priceless and what you choose to do with that life should be of your own purpose and devotion. That was what Komugi realized from Meruem.
I'm crying again, good lord. I hadn't realized Komugi was a dynamic character through the arc, I really love this. It's another depth to the arc, and I love it.
There is a detail from the ending sequence I would like to touch upon briefly, in light of a quote by Hemingway. "The world breaks everyone and afterward many are strong at the broken places. But those that will not break it kills. It kills the very good and the very gentle and the very brave impartially. If you are none of these you can be sure it will kill you too but there will be no special hurry." As Meruem comes into the world he faces broken people, if not corrupt scared and fearful, broken if nothing else by the presence of a monster and the understanding that he outstrips them in every possible respect. In Komugi he finds someone who despite her obliviousness to her worth, and perhaps also because of the natural purity that underlies that kind of humility, is not broken in many other ways. She's the first person, being even, he encounters that is complete in something. Her purity bests him once in the matter of completely honest and humble resolve which he acknowledges in the scene where he rips off his own arm. The sense that there exists something that is better than him even if just in its small domain is pivotal to his development and sense of wonder and admiration for anything but himself in the world. Komugi embodies this in her small ways first there and then by beating him at Gungi. In the ending sequence, Meruem notes with a tone of loving admiration and almost relief that he never beat her, not even once. The first time I passed this scene I remember some people lamenting that he never won. But I think it's a beautiful detail, because it consummates that aspect of the relationship they had and just reaffirms the sense of wonder and admiration he developed for her. He started out thinking there was no one who could show him anything greater than himself, but the feeling that there is is sparked by Komugi and I think the humble relief in his tone reflects a kind of final happiness in knowing he was right in every way.
This was a really good character analysis video. I rarely say this after I watch a video but I feel like I gotta say thank you for this one. Komugi is one of my favorite characters from hxh and I really enjoyed the analysis.

Fantastic video, cried throughout the whole video. Meruem and Komugi hold a very special in my heart and you made me revisit these feelings instantly and profoundly. Keep up the quality AJ, you're on an other level for me.
Maybe from people who basically watch Anime for power level fights, but she's essentially the biggest reasons the Humans plan worked. Pitou's En being cut off to heal the King, so Knov can place his ability. Komugi's presence in the palace puts Meruem at a disadvantage combat wise, since he does not want to hurt Komugi, playing into Netero's and the other Hunter's hope to spare any loss of life from the millions outside the palace. And the biggest difference in how she is the sole catalyst for emotional and mental growth for Meruem. As far as the Anime, I think they do an amazing job of not overstating her, to kind of match her own perspective and adjust and match her importance more as it grows for her and the Anime. The literal mention of her name is the final nail in the conflict.
The conclusion to their story never fails to make me cry. I've watched this show 10 times through and still it makes me feel something despite knowing what will happen. Komugi deserves more love from fans, so glad to see you do this :)
6 years after my first watch of hxh and I still cant believe how phenomenal this story is. We should just be grateful this exists instead of complaining about needing more.
I (as someone who's never seen HxH) have heard plenty about how Meruem is one of the best written OP villains ever, but it's nice focusing on the character that was the core of his personal arc for once. Their dynamic is so interesting.
I sincerely love and appreciate your HxH videos. I feel like you’ve truly aided me in more deeply appreciating the series. I also love finishing new a series, and finding out that you’ve also already done videos on it :) keep up the excellent work!
I love that scene. His mind tell him to kill her for she is just a human, until he saw she was being attacked and saved her. His change may have started before this, but this skyrocketed his growth into one of the best characters in the show.
I just started watching the video and the first 10 secs of that clip alone made me remember meruem was not the only character in this special relationship who had highly emotional arc going on. 😥😔 Gives a whole another level of love from me to this couple. Thanks 😊
I'd argue that while Mureum without Komugi was more like the perfect ruthless King that Chimera ant culture wanted, Komugi taught Mureum nuance, empathy, strategy, and diplomacy, which are equally if not more important to a King. I think when I saw the Chimera Ant Queen dying and thought about his name that Mureum still was the true Chimera Ant King, he was the light in Komugi's life and i'd suspect as he matured that he'd become more diplomatic as a King versus a cruel dictator, Shiapouf saw King as a position of power and wanted Mureum to be a ruthless dictator essentially, but as Mureum matured he (along with Youpi, and Pitou) learned empathy and honor and those are other traits equally valuable in a leader. Essentially the Mureum we have at the end of the series was less selfish and willing to be selfless if it meant saving the Chimera Ant's, he was the leader who had the empathy and the strategy to not kill meaninglessly and truly altruistic for his people, I'd say that Mureum at the beginning wanted power and the leaders who want power often abuse it, while the Mureum at the end was one who'd truly be right to wield it. I'd say that if Mureum had to die to save his species at the beginning Mureum would scoff at the idea, but Mureum at the end who understands his responsibilities more and has been humbled by Komugi learning empathy and stuff would be willing to do it, furthermore I think he'd be a more beloved King as well as he'd efficiently try to deal with the issues that plague the nation he created. I'd say a good analogy is that when Mureum went to East Gorteau and killed their dictator things didn't really change because their previous leader was awful, but post Komugi Mureum would actively try to make the nation more equitable and fair and try to make a thriving Kingdom opposed to his earlier self who killed his mother without knowing the true consequences that would follow her demise (His later identity crisis, the diaspora of Chimera ants, etc.)
Just wanna let everyone know i showed my wife this anime and that last komugi and meruem scene left her completely heartbroken and bawling for like a good 10 minutes as she contemplated what just happened.
Komugi and Netero were key to Meruem's development in more ways than one. Komugi showed how even the weakest, fragile humans can still best you even in the most niche parts of life (strategy and in a way a form of intelligence). Her compassion even to being blind and how she was accepting of her death if she lost because the one thing she was good at and if she lost she had nothing to fall back on. Netero showed the malice of humanity in human form. He was a % compared to his prime that would-ve mopped the floor with the ants. Even though he was a basically buddhist and easy going person he still racked up a huge kill count of ants. His final plan was suiciding via a 3rd world mini nuke strapped to a heartbeat monitor as the trigger. That was just a 3rd world mini nuke. Safe to say the world of HxH had more than enough military tanks and planes or airships at least to mop the floor with anyone or anything no matter how strong they were. Also a foreshadow or hindsight that once the ants destroyed the de militarized tech-less region no buffer would stop the other nations from striking and pelleting them with nukes and missiles. In the end Meruem says how if he knew this he would've done things differently which makes sense when you survived 1 nuke barely and were slowly dying out. P sure if he met the phantom troupe or Gon it would've added a bit more to his character.
maybe that's why I like Komugi as I can relate with her being viewed as trash by family for me its more of relatives but still similar enough for it to be relatable to me.
“She doesn’t think about the life she could’ve led with Meruem...but instead thanks the stars they met in the first place...she doesn’t lament what could’ve been.” Man. I think as hedonistic beings who sometimes, perhaps a lot of the time, wish incredible moments/ties will last forever, should appreciate this insight that has been provided through Komugi’s character. A lot of the time good things must come to an end, and not realising things can be temporary allow us to take them for granted and only appreciate them once they’re gone. Rather than despairing and lamenting over time cut short or what could’ve been, we should appreciate the surreal and blissful moments, whether it be with a person or experiencing something in the world. Understanding that like a lot of things, said moment may too fade with the wind, so we should grasp it in the here and now and cherish it whilst it is still in front of us, so we can cherish it forevermore in our hearts. And with that, rather than despairing over no longer having it, we’re grateful and beyond blessed for the time we had with said thing/person. I don’t know who said this quote but it particularly resonates here: “Do not be sad that it ended, but happy that it happened.” A wonderful quote encapsulating the last few minutes of this tremendous video(as always!) Nice way to end this year, great video as always man.
I just wanted to tell you that I really appreciate your analysis, thinking about the philosophy of the characters is edifying, even if they are a fictional work they always reflect the psyche of the author, and since the author is human... they reflect a little of all of us, I am a great admirer of Togashi's works so I happened to write in the right video, anyway I have been following your videos for some time; I don't know if you do it just for fun or for other reasons, but analyzing characters is equivalent to analyzing ourselves, because this is what they are, a part of us. Not for nothing did the ancient Greeks frequent the theater, it was a form of catharsis, and the various characters in manga or cinema are the sublimation of the author's psyche. I guess I got bored with this string of words, I just wanted to point out that it is important to analyze these "parts of us sublimated on paper". Thank you (and sorry for the bad english) _Greetings_
The entire chimera ant arc is a brilliant analysis and critique of the concept of seeking power. The ants themselves are an example of aggressive growth. Netero, a man who spent his entire life growing as strong as possible, can barely even dent the newborn Meruem, but a cheap bomb destroys Meuem and his royal guards. Gon destroys himself gathering the power to get revenge. And Meruem could have easily razed the earth before the poison killed him, but he was completely neutralized by his love for a seemingly powerless being.
Komugi and Meruem's relationship was incredible to see unfold. The way they grew and evolved in tandem, and brought the best out in each other. I could honestly listen to you talk about this for hours.

As far as I'm concerned, she and Meruem are the real protagonists of the arc. These two characters alone are worth an entire book dedicated to them.
@@moozooh yes i agree.
This broke me
Both dying together and content, though, unlike Romeo and Juliet, while sad it is also satisfying, not a worthless death
This sounds like beauty and the beast
This video and the comments, this one especially, is making me tear up a bit too much. Dang it, you all.
They way you describe thier lovestory is so onpoint.
This was the best story arc in all of hunter x Hunter. Komugi relationship with king was so deep.
Kite cries in little girl voice
Honestly I think it's one of the best story arcs in all of fiction. The final scene with Meruem and Komugi is an instant tear jerker no matter how many times I see it
@@Extendo23 not ashamed to say i cry everytime i see it
@@Extendo23 True, these Scene realy made Hunter x Hunter my favorite Series of all time.
It's one of the best arcs in anime.
komugi’s treatment by her family continues to make one question what truly defines being human, when the line between “man” and “monster” is so fine - not just in hxh, but in the real world as well. komugi taught meruem what it’s like to be truly “human”, and through his own growth, he was able to reciprocate her sentiments and free her from a life lived for a family of people who would never be more than monsters.
people forget that komugi and meruem’s relationship is a two-way street, in which both individuals have things to offer and receive. this video was a great reminder of how beautiful their relationship is. your analysis is insightful as usual, thank you for the wonderful video!
Yeah, I agree, it was the Dead Man's Rose that ultimately brought down Meruem
Komugi is not given the attention she really deserves in the community. This is truly a wonderful analysis of her character
I know:( she’s such an important character but is overlooked and underrated by the fandom
Thank you, and I agree! She deserves a lot more attention and respect.
I feel like everyone knows her value, but we don't talk about it cuz it makes us wanna cry lol
It’s interesting how she gets progressively more beautiful as the arc goes on. She starts as a snotty nosed little girl, but then we see her blue eyes, smile, she looks more like a grown woman by the end. Maybe it’s Meruem seeing her through rosy glasses, like a new couple.
Well…I'm not alone.
Meruem also looks kinder and with more human facial expressions at the end.
The opposite is also true for Gon and Killua.
Some people really praise the 90's version but that was all dark edginess. Madhouse version was really good in telling the story and its emotious through different lenses and lightning.
So glad others noticed this! She actually became more beautiful and /slightly/ sensual at the very end. And he also with his smiles and soft eyes :')

I love how meruem went out playing gungi with someone he loved, not fighting it out.
"Surrounded by people that don't value you, you begin to see in yourself exactly what others see in you. And if they don't bother to treat you like a person worthy of respect and love, you begin to think the same way and dehumanize yourself."
Hefty stuff right there. Highly relatable to myself and many others, I'm sure.
Yes, it's called "The Pygmalion Effect"...
YOOOOOOO komugi analysis? A surprising but welcome surprise.
And meruem design like Cell from DBZ make me hate him at first. But Togashi make Ant Arc
to be sad love story ...

.
.
. But I love it
To be fair we just had Genthru an arc before which was pretty simplistic. But I get your point. Good post.
@@Koraxus I literally forgot about him. LOL My mind was more on Chrollo Lucifer and The Phantom Troupe, as well as Hisoka
Komugi also seems like a weak little girl at first, but she's got icewater in her veins and tempered steel in her soul from facing death every time she played Gungi, while also being almost the polar opposite of Meruem:
Humble and self effacing to his prideful and arrogant nature.
It's truly a case of Opposites Attract, and arguably also a very subtle retelling of Beauty and the Beast.
wow
You're very welcome, I'm so glad you found it so valuable!

05:17 keeping this in mind, if we take a look at the ED from chimera arc (Hyourri Ittai/ED 5), you notice that both Killua and Komugi are shown on the white side of the Gungi piece, while Gon and Meruem are on the black side. May just be overanalysing it though.
Finally someone is talking about her
I love your narration, there's something about your voice that's just captivating and calming.
:)
Yo she made a nen restriction. I just realized this. This is the reason why she was so good omg
Lol, glad you caught on eventually
Wait what restriction did she make
@@kittypixie.x If she loses, it would be the same as losing her life.

You're very welcome, and I'm so glad you feel that way about them! Hopefully you enjoy my non-HxH stuff as well.
Each human is capable of unique mastery in an infinite number of skills. That was something Merurem realized from Komugi. On the other hand, your own life is priceless and what you choose to do with that life should be of your own purpose and devotion. That was what Komugi realized from Meruem.
Thank you! The interactions between the king and komuki were always my favorite part of the entire hunterxhunter!
I'm still affected by their deaths that even by hearing the song, “Understanding” makes me cry.
I'm crying again, good lord.
I hadn't realized Komugi was a dynamic character through the arc, I really love this. It's another depth to the arc, and I love it.
So glad you enjoyed it!
i don't think any anime has made me cry as hard as when meruem and komugi died, i still get teary whenever i see them
NOW THIS IS WHAT IVE BEEN WAITING FOR
This was an utterly heartbreaking arc with so much depth.
Always love yourself. Enjoy the holidays everyone.
There is a detail from the ending sequence I would like to touch upon briefly, in light of a quote by Hemingway.
"The world breaks everyone and afterward many are strong at the broken places. But those that will not break it kills. It kills the very good and the very gentle and the very brave impartially. If you are none of these you can be sure it will kill you too but there will be no special hurry."
As Meruem comes into the world he faces broken people, if not corrupt scared and fearful, broken if nothing else by the presence of a monster and the understanding that he outstrips them in every possible respect.
Glad to hear it!

Awesome, thanks very much. I'll do my best.
Komugi🥺...such an important character but doenst get recognition
Exactly

I loved this video. Meruem and Komugi's dynamic was one of my favourite parts of the arc, I wish we could have got more.
I’ve been waiting for this
I'd argue that while Mureum without Komugi was more like the perfect ruthless King that Chimera ant culture wanted, Komugi taught Mureum nuance, empathy, strategy, and diplomacy, which are equally if not more important to a King.

This came at the perfect time I was gonna rewatch the arc just for this interaction
Wow! I wasn't expecting to reach the end of a video with tears in my eyes today. Nice job!
This is a perfect message and video for this time of year. I love HxH so much, love Komugi and Meruem. Thanks.
Man these characters and their relationship are one of hxh best achievements as a story I need to rewatch this
This made me adore Komugi even more than I already did
Oh hey, I'm gonna cry today

And predictably, it happened. The 4:46 - 5:11 and 6:01 - 6:11 segments speak volumes about me as well.
maybe that's why I like Komugi as I can relate with her being viewed as trash by family for me its more of relatives but still similar enough for it to be relatable to me.
I don’t know who said this quote but it particularly resonates here: “Do not be sad that it ended, but happy that it happened.” A wonderful quote encapsulating the last few minutes of this tremendous video(as always!)
Nice way to end this year, great video as always man.
I think I've heard it be attributed to Dr Seuss, but idk if it was actually him
I picked a good time to wake up this morning
Your videos are really something else. Always bring some valid reflexion which goes further than the anime/movie itself
Thank you, glad they're valuable!
Thank you (and sorry for the bad english)
_Greetings_
You're very welcome, and I'm happy that you are able to find value in the videos!
It sounds really stupid, but I come back to this video in my lowest moments to feel human.
What an amazing Christmas present~
I feel like Hunter x Hunter could be the most well structured story ever. Definitely my favorite anime ever
