Hello audience! Are you confused about how this route is so broken? Well do not fear, I am on the case. In the meantime, though, here's an explanation of what's going on, for those curious :3 You use the "bagel overflow" glitch which I showed off at GDQ in order to get Thorn Ring early (this is why we grind Viro - we need 1997 dollars). Doing this obviously skips the need to get it via killing every enemy and enables us to just cast Snowgrave the moment we get into the alternate Berdly fight. The new thing is 1.09's incorrect save wrong warps. By dying to the very first mandatory Viro, it lets us completely bypass it and go forward like in a normal main route run. We go forward and deactivate the lasers - normally, in Snowgrave, in order for the Snowgrave route to not be aborted, you need to get the Snowgrave version of the laser cutscene (where Noelle asks herself that one question) or else the route is aborted. However, by getting it out of the way now, we remove that obstacle in our path. We go back and freeze the first Viro. This tells the game that Snowgrave route has started, but since the lasers are down, there is actually nothing left in our path that deactivates Snowgrave at all, so we can just go straight to Berdly without killing anything since we have Thorn Ring already, and cast Snowgrave and be done with it. Normally, failing to select Proceed during various cutscenes aborts the route - but because of the glitch we do, we get the Main Route version of the rest of city, which has no game code flags to actually deactivate Snowgrave. It has no reason to, since under normal circumstances you would never be able to get past the lasers without either being in Snowgrave route or aborting it entirely, so none of the Main Route cutscenes are actually set up to abort the route and thus it still works out. After Berdly, everything plays out normally.
@@q12aw50 Need to get S-,R-, and N-Action while still keeping the DJs undefeated so I can do door warp. When opening the electric barrier, the game checks whether or not you have the FreezeRing, and if you don't, it kicks you off the SnowGrave route. Normally, this means that you have to get the FreezeRing before opening the barrier, but best I can tell, he used a bug in 1.09 (watch his video "Overexplaining Deltarune's new biggest oversight using MS Paint" for an explanation of the bug, though he doesn't explain this particular use of it) to skip past the enemy that puts you on the SnowGrave route in the first place, then opened the barrier, then went back for the enemy he skipped so he could get on SnowGrave, except the barrier's already open so he doesn't need to get the FreezeRing (and thus doesn't need to defeat those enemies).
I know this is a little late, but could someone explain how to glitch past that first virovirokun. I understand how wrong warping works, but I do't undertand how Shayy was able to reload imediately in a new room after dying to it.
At this point i don't even know if all these bugs are intended features for speedrunners or not. Because the game is just so broken when you look at it like that, that you can't believe Toby actually made so many mistakes to let such crazy bugs happen.
None of these are intended features. Some of the bugs were given some special treatment and/or made into features, but they all originated as bugs. The game is developed by multiple people btw, and they're incredibly niche bugs. Nobody would ever do any of this by accident, so it barely matters. Pretty much every game in existence has bugs, some of which actually affect casual players unlike this that's just a cool thing for us speedrunners to abuse.
With all these glitches..is it possible to get all recruits in snowgrave? Ik you can do all but one but am uncertain on how the "lost" recruit system works (or if there is a glitch to bypass it). If so that would absolutely be a VERY weird route
something dumb i've heard from undertale fanbase is that "mEgAvAnia is aCtuAlly pLayeR tHeme???? REaL?????" mostly because people use bad logic for that theory. 1. People like to talk about the name of the song and how the name fits more for the player's actions than sans. The reason that this is dumb is because the song was made and named before undertale. The song was also inspired by Megalomania from Live A Live. 2. People also enjoy talking about how sans takes the first attack unlike every other fight which definitely means that the player is actually the boss and not sans. Theres a few reasons that this is dumb. The first reason is because we know that sans loves to break the rules and the fourth wall. The second reason is that the theme doesn't start until its the player's turn. 3. People absolutely LOVE saying that Song That Might Play When You Fight Sans is Sans' real theme which would totally mean that Megalovania absolutely couldn't be his theme. What they hate is when I tell them that Undyne has 2 themes and are both considered Undyne boss themes, flowey, asriel, and mettaton also have 2 themes. Why would this be any different than Sans? The final reason why I hate this theory is that if it was the player's theme then we wouldn't even be hearing it, only the monsters we fight would. We would hear that Monster's theme and the monster we fight would hear our theme. TL;DR: Megalovania is not the Player's theme.
Technically Sans does have another battle theme, SAVE The World It plays when you save his soul in true pacifist It technically plays during a battle with him so ig it counts????? Also I think Smash Ultimate confirms that Megalovania is Sans' theme, if it wasn't they would've given him something else
I like to think it is because the player is the antagonist, same with the music that plays during undying's fight. but I think a better way of looking at it is it's the theme of the fight, not of one character
i like to think the player’s theme is something along the lines of desperate keyboard mashing with an overlay of confused screaming. so while we get megalovania to listen to, poor sans has to deal with that awful cacophony of sounds
I hope that Toby Fox will fix this glitch :) At the end you only have 124 Hp, do the others chapters with less Hp in snowgrave should be a good challenge!
They're probably not going to fix it also why would you want it fixed??? lol After beating NEO your HP corrects to what it should be if you go and revisit the dark world in the town. You get puppetscarf too.
the first virokuro encounter that triggers snowgrave was skipped because of 1.09's quirks and leads you onto the main route, so by removing the one obstacle that aborts snowgrave, snowgrave cannot be aborted by the laser room, and because the virokuro encounter was skipped, you are able to retrigger the battle and start snowgrave, and because the main route is taking place, snowgrave is only evident on berdly's fight
By glitching the donuts, he could buy the thorn ring right there, the only necessary parts of the snowgrave route are actually the first virovirokun, the laser and the thorn ring. It's just that the laser requires you to kill everything in the first half of the city and spamton requires you to kill everything else. By dying in the virovirokun fight and glitching past it, you can turn off the laser and then fight virovirokun again to kill it and start snowgrave. Because the laser is already off, it doesn't check if you've killed the rest of the enemies, so you can go straight to queen's

You better not have made toby put Ralsei x Susie into the game with that line
Did you know that burger pants name is actually Jeremy
Damn 3 vids in less than a week? Shayy be workin hard
Thank you shayy
how do you spam charge shots like that during spamton neo
Hold Z and spam ENTER
"narrachara is now canon"
The 30/20 glitch is in undertale on a pacifist, if you go to the inn, you can sleep there and get extra hp
thats not a glich...
Have you made a video explaining this speedrun?
Bro fired big shots during Spamton’s fight so fast that he impressed racist cops
@@ShayyTV Wow, i actually didn't expect you to answer, besides on a video 3 months old. Thank you.
0:02 Jesus Christ I see why it says punch out
With all these glitches..is it possible to get all recruits in snowgrave? Ik you can do all but one but am uncertain on how the "lost" recruit system works (or if there is a glitch to bypass it). If so that would absolutely be a VERY weird route
How did he even get that spell?
He really should’ve teched that snow grave smh it’s 20 frames berdley major skill issue
shayy why are you so god damn cute its not fair :(
aww, thank you :3
you can do it too! i promise
Now's your *NOW'S*

something dumb i've heard from undertale fanbase is that "mEgAvAnia is aCtuAlly pLayeR tHeme????
Technically Sans does have another battle theme, SAVE The World
It plays when you save his soul in true pacifist
It technically plays during a battle with him so ig it counts?????
Also I think Smash Ultimate confirms that Megalovania is Sans' theme, if it wasn't they would've given him something else
@@usermcskull4713 based
I like to think it is because the player is the antagonist, same with the music that plays during undying's fight. but I think a better way of looking at it is it's the theme of the fight, not of one character
i like to think the player’s theme is something along the lines of desperate keyboard mashing with an overlay of confused screaming. so while we get megalovania to listen to, poor sans has to deal with that awful cacophony of sounds
@@krisdreemurrlightnerconnoi1728 that'd be funny
Right warp
As someone who likes narra Chara, I agree other fans of the theory should stop acting like it’s official.
Why did you spam encounter Virovirokun
To get 1997 kromer for the thorn ring
I hope that Toby Fox will fix this glitch :) At the end you only have 124 Hp, do the others chapters with less Hp in snowgrave should be a good challenge!
They're probably not going to fix it also why would you want it fixed??? lol
After beating NEO your HP corrects to what it should be if you go and revisit the dark world in the town. You get puppetscarf too.
so uhhh how the fuck do the snowgrave checkpoints work I really don’t understand what made it snowgrave despite not even seeing 90% of the rooms
the first virokuro encounter that triggers snowgrave was skipped because of 1.09's quirks and leads you onto the main route, so by removing the one obstacle that aborts snowgrave, snowgrave cannot be aborted by the laser room, and because the virokuro encounter was skipped, you are able to retrigger the battle and start snowgrave, and because the main route is taking place, snowgrave is only evident on berdly's fight
Wait how did he get the Snowgrave Route to trigger anyway
By glitching the donuts, he could buy the thorn ring right there, the only necessary parts of the snowgrave route are actually the first virovirokun, the laser and the thorn ring. It's just that the laser requires you to kill everything in the first half of the city and spamton requires you to kill everything else. By dying in the virovirokun fight and glitching past it, you can turn off the laser and then fight virovirokun again to kill it and start snowgrave. Because the laser is already off, it doesn't check if you've killed the rest of the enemies, so you can go straight to queen's
:O@@AffyMoon
so uhh is there an explanation of this somewhere?
That's a great question! ;)
Since that doesn't exist (yet) though, quick rundown -
You use the "bagel overflow" glitch which I showed off at GDQ in order to get Thorn Ring early (this is why we grind Viro - we need 1997 dollars).
@@ShayyTV Damn, thanks so much for the detailed explanation shayy!!
is it just me or is the video 3D? i dont have it set to 3D.
10:17 Bro forgot hes non bianary
im listening on speakers, i dont like the feeling of something around my ears but i have rly good speakers
But of course.
Ok question, why do you turn around in the room transitions?
Think its to do with wrong warp. I don't understand the bug but I think he recently made a vid that explains it.
It's a wrong warp
im so confused what happened at 20:15 ?? how did you swear lol
My sex life is like gaster non existent
