My advice, do not jump into apple farming to make money. You might be disappointed. Do it as a hobby like myself. If it results into money, well and good. Remember the Wambugus are into business of selling the seedlings
So you don't make money from your apples?
@@robertasukoruk2 haven't gotten even the first fruits yet. If in excess of cos I will sell but my point is, am not into it for the allure of making millions 🙂🙂🙂.
Why do you think one would be disappointed.
No they are not , they have over 5 acres in nyeri with apple trees n 23 acres now in laikipia full of apple trees wot do you think they do with all the fruits budaa? Think b4 saying 😢😢😢
@@wangarindungu1286 there is a big difference between would and might. I never said you would be disappointed.
I wish this could be translated to English language as well.

Kazi nzuri sana babaa, matamani kupractice.
You are a good man, you might have come across a muindi but not all are bad. A true one can take you to great heights. I grow apple, fig and grapes and it does well. You have done good for your family, I have dealt with a Wambugu and he was a great guy, even if he was a small timer selling milk, bread, githeri and waroo, 😢
thank God for this, please can this be gotten here in nigeria am interested . thanks

@@ImagineBusinesskethank you. Got it
Most of these farmers make money selling seedlings not fruits. That’s why the hype is so much about the money made so that you can buy seedlings to plant. Think about where you’re going to sell your apples first. Also remember that apples do very well in the temperate climate, so the European export market is exaggerated.
But apple is very few in kenya so it can sold locally.
You will never go wrong in fruits farming,Apple usage and market is wide unlike other fruits, whatever this man is saying is verifiable .
I planted this apple in.machakos,15months am eating even with very little watering.Try before discharging people.
Please keep reading my comment until you understand it.
Great perspective. But i am in Nigeria and I know that the market for fruits isn't saturated. Moreso for apples. Apples production in Nigeria is very low. Most are imported

I want apple plants ? Respect from India 🙏
Hizo vitu nyeupe zinaongezwa kwa seedlings ni nini
Ni mbolea
I live in The Gambia. How can I buy the seedlings ?
You can engage him through +254720789802
You can not grow apples in the Gambia. You need at least one month cold.
Temperature plays a role in apples growing. These apples that she is talking about grow in the highlands of Kenya normally above 1500 meters above sea level where temperatures do not go beyond 85 F and during June temperature can go as low as 50 F even though rainfall is not that much (semi-arid). So, you can imagine how cold it can get compared to humid and hot areas in many African countries.
Good job
Thank you!
I really would love to start this farming in Nandi county
I hope you have learned a thing or two from him. Good luck
@@ImagineBusinesske Yes I have.i love this and would like to try since I planted 2 seedlings from the seed back in 2020,they haven't produced anything.

If you have a good water supply then they can
No
Yes I saw Jamaican growers with the Wambugu family in December
It may grow in some parts of Jamaica and the western part of Hait specifically LA BOULE AND FERMATHE.
@@yvesderival634 Thanks for that. I'm located in Dominica 🇩🇲 . Our weather conditions are similar to that of Jamaica so maybe we can try it here.

I heard apple needs cooler climate so how is it possible to grow it in africa?
who told you africa is a desert?
Google and find out
Kenya has some form of winter with some places like Kinangop going as low as 6 degrees Celsius
You are right the apple need a cold periode. Only some colder places are good for apples.
Technically they call it chilling requirement of about 500 to 600 hours for most varieties. May be this variety needs less, I don't know. Maybe it does not need chilling requirement at all, I don't know. I would appreciate if somebody could direct me to scientific paper, if any, on this variety.
On a similar note, the highlands of Kenya could possibly be favorable for apple trees because temperature could go as low as 5 to 10 C during winter.
Rubbish . The man just bought 24 acres in laikipia n its NOT a cold region yet u can see the apples there u only need water
It's à pity. You don't try to translate into english
Where are your seedlings sold?
