York is such a pretty place. Thank you for taking us there. I am really not feeling the holidays this year. I think because I work retail and see mostly the secular and materialistic side of it, this year it has just gotten to me. We really don't have any time this year to do anything except for on Christmas day.
My favourite place in the world but I'm completely biased as I've lived in York my whole life where I've also brought up my family. We know how lucky we are. Thank you for showing York off so beautifully. X

I think many of us who are compassionate, empathic and humanitarian at heart find it difficult to feel truly festive this year whilst the ghost of War in Ukraine and all the suffering in many parts of the world weigh on our spirit.

I’m glad you didn’t make the venture to Birmingham! It’s only 20 mins on a train for me. This years market was rubbish 😣 not as half the stalls there as previous years, mainly food and drink and not many gift/souvenir ones. The York one looks fabulous though 🎄🎄

York is one of our favourite places to visit but we haven't been for years. My hubby went to university there, and so it will always hold special memories for him. We visited once at Christmas and it was so magical. We would love to take our children there at some point, but it's quite a journey for us now as we live in the South West.

I am the same here! I have truly been struggling with feeling festive although I have tried to conjure the feeling as normally lover of the period but also for my 4 years son as well. But despite that and the vlogmas I've been watching, I haven't managed to feel the festive essence and with work (I'm a bookseller), I've been running all over the place so I'm also looking forward for the new year and slower times^^.

We are now in the time of life to relocate from the South. You have often mentioned that you would like to move one day to another lovely home. Can you recommend some pretty towns or villages that we should consider in our move? Enjoy - and perhaps Father Christmas will bring you the missing "festive spirit" when all the hard work of Christmas is over and you can look forward to your first year as Husband and Wife. I so loved this visit to York, seeing all the beautiful architecture and the lovely Christmas market. As a subscriber from Vancouver, Canada I’m always keen to live vicariously in the UK. I’m not feeling particularly festive this year either. I’m happy but not excited. I think because there seems to be so much drama in 5:27 the world and society, I’m drawn to cocooning also. I get what you mean about cocooning inwards 💯. Christmas can be overwhelming and exhausting, particularly if you’re an introverted high anxiety personality like I am ☺️. I’m looking forward to Christmas, but I’ll also be ready for it to be over 😳. I hope that doesn’t sound to “bah-humbug” 🤣.

I feel the same way, Kay: just not that festive. Still, that's nothing that an afternoon in front of the fire playing Christmas Carol's wouldn't fix. I think that the fact that it's going to be a tough Christmas and Winter in general has affected us all. I carry worry in my heart for my family, but also for us all. I'm not religious, but maybe concentrating on the real reason for Christmas might help? Regardless, I wish you a very Happy Christmas 🎅🏻🎄♥️

I agree, I dislike all the extra stuff that comes with Christmas but the one thing it's good for is bringing people together which for me is what Christmas is all about. ♥️

Oh my goodness! It’s cold here as well, negative 3., and negative 5 thru the night! Brrrr! Kay, I have been watching you for some time now, and always wanted a Ragdoll cat. I just loved viewing your videos, especially Rory and Echo! Two days ago, I got my first Ragdoll from a local, reputable breeder. We are in love with her already! She is a Seal Bi-Color. My heart was first set on a Blue Point Mitted, but when I met with the husband/wife breeders, they met me in town with the last two of their current liter. They were both females. It really was so hard to choose the one I liked the most. My daughter and I wanted to bring them both home! She truly is a special gift, and I’m so happy we have her. Maybe in the near future….we will get a second one. Merry Christmas to you and Dom! Blessings!

Lovely video. I'm wondering if stepping back from consumerism has dimmed your festive feeling? Sadly it seems to be about buying... gifts, expensive food, party clothes etc and if you're not involved in all that it can feel a bit meh especially if that's been the memories of your youthful Christmases when the traditions are set.
Loved this, Just bein myself with my parents and husband and my younger sister to Oberhausen, I hate normal markets , But christmas markerts are something else, I have 5 mulled wine glasses/mugs now🤣 I am more of a halloween kind of girl and that street made me feel more Knockturn Alley then Dagon alley😜 felt cosy and i loved that witch made my evening! Keep it spooky all year round💜 Merry Christmas!🎄
This was one of my faves so far (granted, I still have to see the Winter Solstice one 🥹🥹🥹🌲🤍❄️) but this video was giving me better than Hallmark winter vibes!! You did an amazing job in music selection as well! Was that a store that said Potions and Cauldrons!?😃🥰🙏🏽! It just went from Hallmark to Harry Potter vibes!😃😃😃! I so wish we had Winter Markets here! I absolutely loveee seeing a fellow witch walking by! What a brilliant idea she had for her broom! Did you know there are legends and stories about the Christmas Witch! The children’s book I have she is Santa’s sister, which makes so much sense to me! If you know, you know.. and I am pretty sure YOU know heehee. I wasn’t feeling festive this yesr either. Didn’t decorate or put up the tree, but this video (which I will be rewatching over and over 🙈 helped so much!! Just adore you my love! Blessed Winter to you and yours!
