Casselberry, Altamonte Springs, Winter Park? Lol, I have been in some of those COs! That is my hometown! I live in Winter Springs! This is really cool. Thanks for the upload! Winter Park Telephone Co > United Telephone > Sprint-United > Sprint > Embarq > CenturyLink > Lumen -- Quite some history!
Oh yess, when I hired into and worked in a number 5 crossbar office, sometimes I would have to use a pair of needle nose pliers to get the bifurcated relay contacts into proper alignment. As long as you used the correct Bell System tools, management could not criticize you for using the proper tools to "adjust" the relay contacts 😂
I’ve visited my telephone CO it’s a old DMS-100/200 and there are a lot of spring wire relays in my equipment for testing trunk lines in the office, It’s really interesting!
@@bruce4kfilmsYeah, that’s something I didn’t realize until recently. These switches weren’t just put in service in the 80s and left alone, they were continuously upgraded, at least until nortel went bankrupt.
@@bruce4kfilms Not as much as you might think. (I've seen switches with 30-40yo cards in them. 'tho these days most have been retired for soft-switches, and VoIP.)
That card he was using was unrepairable and we were going to throw it away before we decided to use it in this video. That was made 20 years ago@@MrNoobed
The problem is Devil runs the world. He is liar and murderer. This is the reason why liars and murderers feel good while righteous persons are persecuted. This is the reason why Hitler got the power, but Christ was executed as "blasphemer" and "rioter" by denunciation of clergy. That's why we've got the Gospel about the God's kingdom. Jehovah would put everything in order. The dead will be resurected and we'll meet our loved ones again! :-)
@@MichaelWallace-oq3wd As long as you give me a revertive pulse incoming trunk I'm happy! Seriously though, XB5 RP sounded amazing as fast as it was. A rare treat, and one I've only heard in recordings, but amazing nonetheless.

that card drop was the worst jump scare I’ve ever had
It was a BAD card before he dropped it just in fun

Telcom huumour, you have to live it even in the Uk.45 years of it.😅
LOL “I’m headed for retirement!”
MLAC: Happy retirement, Bonnie. 😆
Pretty crazy to think that my landline is getting a dial tone from a piece of equipment put into service here back in the mid 80s.
It has been updated alot since then

I have cards in Nortel STPs this old, and meanwhile Cisco & Ciena cards fail to the point of absurdity after 3 years.
>a known good card because it just came back from repair.
I wonder if he was serious or if this was a joke back then too
It was bad- a joke for the video
@@bruce4kfilms it's still bad 😭I've gone through 3 out of box failures for a $13k fiber transport card.
