I’m a senior in environmental science, an avid outdoorsman, not afraid of hard work and interested in film and narration; and you are the blueprint. If I could even make one video to the caliber of what you produce, I’d be happy. You do fantastic work that is undoubtably possible because of years of knowledge that allows you to collect your own observations to apply those skills. I hope to see you producing suitable habitat and wonderful content for years to come!
Thank you so much for the kind words, very encouraging!
I agree with all of this. I often look to Stefano's channel for inspiration on storytelling and I admire the incredibly hard work that goes into these videos. Well done Stefano!
We all share the same passion and possibly have the same dream... coming across Stefano's channel was the inspiration I needed to know its possible! :)
Sounds like this person wants to come intern with you
Una meraviglia....grazie
One hour of wildlife homestead update. Stefano is really blessing us this christmas
Have a merry christmas!
I’m just a 12 year old boy who’s never been into nature or anything like that but your videos are the most beautiful thing I’ve ever seen I love your channel thank you for making such life changing content
i'm a 14 year old and i start planting tomatoes
I bet once you get the possibility to travel on your own, you will visit nature much more :)
Awesome to hear mate, keep that up because home grown tomatoes taste the best!@@minecraft111web
@@minecraft111webvery nice!
Pretty disappointing for todays society that many young kids have never been in nature before
A whole hour of content, literally an early Christmas present thank you
So kind, hope you enjoy it! Merry Christmas!
My thoughts exactly
And to think you potentially just saved 30 acres of land from being developed into residential or commercial use in the future is so incredible, from one nature lover to another, thank you for preserving this land for so many creatures that call it home
Probably this is the very definition of happiness.
babe wake up, ne wildlife homestead update dropped
Haha, hope you enjoy the video!
Woah
Are you ok ? Haven’t uploaded in a while
the quality of footage from your backyard is stunning. seeing the amount of salamander and frog eggs in a simple small forest pond is baffling. i share your dream to one day create a wildlife haven myself. absolutely documentary quality film you could say, all from your backyard... just wow
Thanks so much, and good luck on your future property!
Once I become old enough, this is how I want to live. Thank you for being not only entertaining but a good example and inspiration!
that chickadee at 26:16 sure wanted some spotlight!
Haha, definitely the star of the show
Thanks! This is better than most nature documentaries I’ve seen!
I like how you strive to live in sync with the land and all the animals around you!
So happy to hear! Thanks so much for the support ❤️
I can't believe I watched one HOUR of this video. I'm not a bird watcher but I am a lover of wildlife. I just bought 158 acres in the mountains of West Virginia. I love how you put this video together and of course loved watching the wild life. I think I will do that on my channel: Retired Dream Life. Thanks for such a great video! Your knowledge about wildlife is impressive.
Wow, congrats on the new property! I'm sure it'll be an amazing adventure :)
Wow! The world needs more land owners like you out there, for sure! If only every person out there wasn’t so greedy and disconnected then we’d have the natural world a lot happier.
I want to do what you are doing with your land. I hope to be able to share the process just like yourself.
Thank you for all the hard work, not only for us, but the whole animal kingdom! Well done dude!
Thanks so much! I’m excited for you to start on your project 🙂
Fantastic recap. Please make one every year, it's lovely to see the progress you make. It will be great to see how the changes you introduce influence the number of species! One hour is not too long when the content is so wholesome!
So happy to hear you enjoyed, I definitely plan to make them every year!
Wow! Seeing all 4 seasons really paints a rich picture of the area and its cycle of wildlife. Thank you for documenting this so beautifully and narrating it so thoughtfully 🙏💕
Happy holidays! Here's to many more years!
Thanks so much! Happy Holidays!
W
Your knowledge on flora and fauna is astounding! This is even better than some of the planet/discovery videos.
So kind of you, thank you!
i was seriously thinking that....if he makes enough of these....one day it could be its own legit tv series.
Absolutely incredible! Your cinematography and storytelling are top notch and you have quite a treasure there. I have to tell you that I started caring for my Mom full time a year ago because of her progressing Dementia. Not many things hold her attention these days. I put your video on the TV and she was enthralled. She would not stop talking about how much she loved the animals and the birds. One hour of pure joy for her and I enjoyed watching her. Thank you for sharing your wildlife and home with us.
Thanks so much for sharing, Lisa! It means a lot to know she enjoyed it so much. I hope you're both doing well and are having a wonderful holiday season :)
I'm super jealous but I am also super happy for you and I am thankful you are sharing this with all of us who can't realise our dreams living in a place like you do, thank you!
So kind of you to say!
Stefano you bring so much joy to my life, and I'm sure so many other people. Warm regards from Stu and happy holidays to the Wildlife Homestead 🖖
So kind of you, Stu! Happy Holidays!
26:16 this man is really just living his disney princess dreams
Very fitting that exactly 2 and a half hours into Christmas day (here in NZ), you give us an hour long video! Merry Christmas!
Hope you enjoy it! Merry Christmas!🎄
So much love from Melbourne, AU. Thank you for sharing such an incredible journey. Your videos have helped me soothe and regulate after many of my Autistic meltdowns throughout the year. Also based off of the outpouring of love and support in the comments here, your impact has clearly made a positive impact on so many of us humans around the world as well as the luckiest creatures you're helping with your property. Thank you again 🎉
Thank you for the kind words! It means a lot to know the videos have such a positive impact ❤️
Oh my gosh the chickadee just landing on you was too precious! Thank you so much for sharing your experiences with us!
I recently moved from suburbia to a quiet little valley in central NY State. I have 7 acres and i'm surrounded by parcels that are as big and bigger. I'm on a similar journey of discovery. My first autumn moving in I was dismayed by the quiet songless and scanty bird population. I had three crows, some chickadees and a few titmice. Winter came and i saw deer, the tracks of a fisher and a visit by 12 wild turkeys. The highlight was seeing a bald eagle eat a fish from the creek. Then spring happened. I had started feeding in the winter and now had sightings of so many types of birds i had to keep a book by the window just to keep up. I saw foxes, a bear, many deer, some coyote, red squirrels, grey squirrels and chipmunks and of course skunks, woodchucks and many salamanders, snakes, frogs, toads. All told my mixed wooded and overgrown rather than overmown meadow is filled with life, color, and endless interest. I'm a still photographer, but seeing your videos has me thinking i need to learn some new tricks. Thank you for inspiring me to be more of a steward and nurturer of this slice of paradise.
I'm 63 years old with a lifelong passion for ecology, and a father who can identify every bird by song. But for me, they might as well be varieties of mice. (Maybe I was, er, put off.)
That said, watching this I am now beginning to understand why someone might be so fascinated (partly because all these birds are completely new to me, from the UK!) and am looking forward to learning more about how they fit into your own local patch.
Hats off to you sir, this is a remarkable project and I'm so looking forward to see how you progress and what changes you make over the coming years. Really quite envious. Good on you.
Edit: I cannot believe the sheer variety of species you've been able to capture. Makes me very happy. As must you be. 109 birds alone...
We have absolutely nothing like the potential that you do, just a few urban foxes and the occasional badger. UK is a sadly a bit lost for wildlife and ecology in general. Don't mention the rivers.
Planet Wild just put out a video on how to resolve the issue with the uniform tree planting. Several of the trees are cut down and allowed to stay where they fall. This opens up the forest light and the fallen trees attract new life. Great video.
I'm stuck between "a whole year already?!" and "you've done so much in only a year?"
Happy holidays and best wishes 🎄
I’m excited to see how much I can get done next year when I start more projects! Happy holidays 🙂
This documentary is absolutely incredible. My family has some land on rural France and videos like this motivate me to give more attention to the wildlife that we share the land with. I hope you will make more videos showing and explaining the ecology of your homestead
i have my own nature sighting news !! About 17 years ago some river otters were released into my area to bring up population numbers, and I saw one for the first time in the wild about a week ago near the river !! Turns out they went from endangered to least concern over the past two decades in my state, and this year especially people have been seeing them a lot
That's so nice to hear, congrats on the sighting! Keep your eyes peeled during the late Winter/eearly Spring, especially. Sometimes young otters will venture into weird places as they separate from the adults and try to find a territory of their own.
This is one of my favourite channels, hands down. I'm in Montréal and I often feel a bit stuck here in the city and not as close to nature as I would like. Fortunately we live fairly close to a large nature park, but it's also very popular, so on any given day there are lots of people moving through it, often just walking between home and work. It's certainly better than being in an asphalt desert, but it doesn't provide the kind of quiet nature walk I really enjoy, with long stretches where I don't see anyone except birds and animals. So your videos are very welcome to watch, even if they also make me acutely aware of what I'm missing! Mille mercis et bonnes fêtes!
Merci! Growing up in the West Island, I could definitely relate to that feeling. That's one of the main reasons I really started to enjoy the winter. Way less people walking around, and if I went to the lesser known parks, I sometimes wouldn't see anyone the whole day. I always enjoyed the quietness!
Stunning imagery, beautifully edited and well narrated. Thank you, for the high quality content and for all your hard work to protect the wildlife.
So glad you enjoyed it, thank you!
Hands down, best video ever! I thoroughly enjoyed watching it. Thank you for takin the time to film all of this. I can't stop smiling.😊
I love watching these! It's beautiful to see it all come together in one video. Keep living the dream!
SO kind of you, thanks so much!!
Thank you for sharing all these marvelous glimpses of your little paradise. The balance with which you search to live with the nature around you is exemplary and the enthusiasm for the wildlife is contagious.
The video is four months old , I hope all is good ! I look forward to seeing more videos .
was feeling bored and low today, then a notification from Stefano comes up, then a 1 hour video!, back to having a good day now.
So glad I was able to make your day a little better!
I’ve always loved nature but with living in the city it’s so easy to just keep going about your life and forget just how beautiful our earth can be. Stefano, this is amazing! And it makes me want to find a way to move out of the city and maintain a piece of my own land.
thanks for introducing me to birding. I am now addicted with birds and animals because of you and am using my artistic skills to try and create more awareness.
That’s so cool! Hope you’re enjoying the new hobby! 🙂
@@StefanoIaniro Yes i am absolutely enjoying this hobby.
I’m always so glad whenever I see you’ve posted a new video. As impatient as I am, you always make the wait worth it with the quality of these videos!
That’s so nice to hear! Glad it’s worth the wait. Thank you for the support 🙂
just wanted to share: last month, my family and i were out and, while we were driving, i was just looking out the window. i spotted a few great blue herons here and there and got pretty happy since they’re actually one of my all-time favorite species of birds. (i’m not a bird expert but i always recognize these guys when i see them cause they’d show up once in a while around a pond i would go to when i was younger.) a few minutes later, i see a clearing with an ENORMOUS gathering of great blue herons and Canadian geese. there were easily a hundred of each species, maybe more, and i was in absolute awe cause i had never seen so many creatures sitting in one spot- it felt like something straight out of a wildlife documentary. i figured they were migrating and stopping there for a break and i felt so blessed to be able to witness something so amazing with my own eyes.
watching your videos always reminds me of beautiful moments like that that exist in the real world. i enjoy the narration and the gentle pacing + thoughtful explanation of everything that goes into maintaining the property. it’s so educational, informative, entertaining, and interesting every single time. i always look forward to the next video 👍
I moved at the start of this year too, so it was always wild to see an update from this channel and see how much time has passed. Feels surreal that a year has pased already, loved spending it watching this homestead grow, heres to many more years!
Glad you enjoyed! Time flew by this year!
This was absolutely delightful. Thank you for taking us along as you navigate this wonderful wildlife project!
So kind, thank you!
Just recently found your channel, and I love it. It’s so relaxing, and has the perfect balance of commentary but also just letting the videos be how they are. Those foxes are absolutely ADORABLE and I can’t believe how much amazing footage you got of them.
Thank you for the kind words! Hoping for even more next year if we have another litter show up
as someone who's a borderline shut in and very depressed your videos always helps me calm down, bring my mood up and make me smile.
thank you for these videos stefano and i hope you have a very merry christmas!
Glad I was able to bring some peaceful nature to you during the holiday season! Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
1:00:15 Picture me lying in bed, yelling "raccoon!" at my laptop.
Hahaha
Absolutely in love with this project, cheers form Italy ❤
Thanks so much!
Just incredible cinematography, narration, and musical score, this is on the level of a program I'd watch on Nat Geo or the BBC.
Wow thanks so much!
Those fox pups are absolutely adorable, how lucky are you to enjoy all these critters, but especially the ones carrying for their young. New life is always a beautiful sight no matter the species.
I just realized that I've been seeing this series for 1 whole year :O
Stefano, the other comments say everything that I feel. Thank you for what you give to us. We are privileged. Kind regards.
Thank you!
I love your channel. Seeing this bautiful side of nature is really comforting. My soul feels rested watching your work!
Thanks so much!
Love this series ❤❤❤. Thanks for the 1 hour video 😂.
Hope you enjoy it!
I’m not sure if this is a native tree. We have a hawthorn tree. The berries are totally ignored until January, and then it’s a big hit with the birds! I liken it to ice wine! We have service berry bushes for spring too, as well as a peach tree that was supposed to be ornamental, and isn’t. It’s a tiny suburban lot, but we try to support the wildlife as best we can.
Ngl, this made me shed a couple of tears. Life, nature, is so beautiful, and it makes me so happy that people like you exist who are so passionate to help nature out.
I was so excited to see this on Christmas Day in Australia!!!! Once again, the filming and production is 2nd to none. The Autumn colours are beyond breathtaking!!! Thank you so much for sharing it with us. Look forward to many more insights into your life. Just stunning. Even all that snow looks good, but I cannot imagine living in it. And the fungi is absolutely beautiful!!! Thank you so much once again.❤
Thanks so much, Jane! Really happy to hear you enjoyed it. I think you'd find the winter is actually quite bearable, so long as you're not outside on a day where the wind is howling through haha.
Your channel is definitely my favourite channel of the ones I discovered this year! It was so interesting to see your property change throughout the season! I can’t wait for what’s to come in the next year!
this is amazing 😮
but honestly the best part about this was at the beginning, talking about that amazing water feature. can’t believe houses have that! very lucky.
Haha thanks! It gives me a reason to use my canoe to navigate the basement 😅
The fox kits are precious, so special for you to see Stefano. Your hard work to have as many species visit your homestead has paid off. Wishing you many future glorious seasons of visitors!💕
What a treat to have over an hour of beautifully filmed and narrated wildlife homestead after a couple of hectic days of Christmas. Thank you so much Stefano! I can't wait to see what you have in store for next year.
this honestly makes me feel so relaxed and at peace, what an amazing video
Thank you!
Thank you so much for all the work you do to bring us these gorgeous videos. It is so beautiful.
Thanks so much!
I haven't had this much enjoyment watching just about anything on the TV recently. What a superb and beautiful video this is
No beauty quite like the four seasons. The endurance of winter, the eruption of spring, the noise of summer, and the quiet wind down of fall. I'm so glad you have turned your property into a refuge for wildlife and I hope to one day be able to do the same
Very well said! I wish you luck on your future projects!
This is absolutely spectacular. I wanted to wait until the end to leave my comment but i just cannot! This film is....beautiful. so far my favorite moments have been when you pulled the fly larvae out of the pond and the chickadee landed on your hand looking for food and then the fox kits living in your shed. I just love that the parents know their babies are safe on your property close to your house. Im sure ill have more comments before the end as im only just half way through. I just love it, beautiful cinematography, music and subjects
So glad you're enjoying the video! Thank you for the kind words.
Stefano, you don't realize how impressive this is. The quality of your content is impressive. I'm glad I stumbled upon your content more than a year ago because you never cease to inspire us to do even small stuff like a pond in our own backyard. I started watching this on Christmas morning on the TV at my parents' place and everyone gradually started watching the video with me, attracted to the screen and the stunning visuals you create. Keep this impressive content up!
That's so nice to hear! Thank you. And I hope you and your family had a great Christmas and a Happy New Year!
Stefano is like Dr plants he just popped up and started making quality content
So glad you enjoy, thank you!
Wow, a whole hour! What an absolute joy. My favorite parts were the snow buntings, fox kits, and lynx, but I love it all. Thank you for sharing this. ❤ from Portland, Oregon.
So glad you enjoyed it! Thanks for watching 🙂
New subscriber. Beauty. This inspired me for a tiny piece of land I own in Quebec.
Oh wow, only one year, it feels like such an adenture
Time flies!
I love how some of the birbs just land on his hand carefree and so casually lol, love the video!
this quality content deserves way way more views ... thank you for sharing this beauty Stefano
Fantastic! You must be so proud that some of these animals exist just because of the efforts you put in to create a perfect environment for them!
Excellent video as always but the thumbnail is so beautiful! 😌😌😌
Also we just moved to Oregon and I’m establishing a mini wildlife preserve just like you. I appreciate you sharing all of your thoughts so that I can incorporate them over here. I’ll be following along. I got a bird identification app, and so far I’ve seen Stellars Jay (my favorite), dark eyed juncos, song sparrows, spotted towhee, and I heard a big owl! Thank you so much!
That’s so cool! Loved hearing the Steller’s Jays when I was out west. Such a beautiful bird too. Good luck on your property! Will be a great adventure.
Everytime you post a video I get so excited to watch! Thank you for making these videos, they’re beyond therapeutic.
I subscribed to your channel after watching the wildlife pond project you did a while ago (and I'm still in awe at that project
Your videos are wonderful. And thank you for providing subtitles for all of it!
I hope all is well. Missing your updates.
Pure delight. Thank you, Stefano.
I've been waiting for this update with great interest. I watch your videos actively first, but then eventually they go into heavy rotation as my fall-asleep material. With time, it gets to the point that I begin to memorize snatches of narration. Thank you!
Haha that’s awesome! So glad to be part of your routine!
The best Christmas present, thank you for this recap! Can't wait for more!
Merry Christmas!
I know I already commented but seeing as how it's New Year's Eve I wanted to come back and say I managed to identify 51 different birds this year and got out into all kinds of different parks and wildlife areas this year and it was great. :)
THat's awesome, Mitchell! Congrats on all of the new birds. Hope 2024 brings even more!
I'm grateful you are the owner of that beautiful land.
You are so knowledgeable, respecful and appreciative of nature, thank you!
Please keep making those. I've enjoyed every second and can easily say, that this is why I love internet
Currently a freshman in Wildlife Management, and im just so jealous of the homestead you managed to create. I want to move to Canada in a few years to achieve something similar. Keep it up!
That's awesome! Hope school is going well for you. And I wish you luck on your future projects!
as someone with a terrible memory who had forgotten to keep up with this channel for the entire year, this long-form recap video was exactly what I needed. beautiful photography and such a stunning place to live! some of these animals you filmed, I'd never even heard of before, since I'm in the uk. can't wait to learn more about this little patch of heaven you're exploring.
I was even more excited when you shared fungi too!! I love mushrooms and don't often get to see ones from other countries in their natural environment. the reds and browns were awesome against every background, but I especially liked the large white ones you recorded - funnels maybe? I would love to see more of that next year, you recorded some pretty substantial fairy rings and clearly established patches of mycelium which will definitely show up again and maybe even promote more fungal activity. it makes me so happy to see such a healthy mycelial network, and better yet, from mushrooms and other organisms that I don't immediately recognise!!
wonderful stuff. great video! thank you so much for sharing.
So glad you enjoyed the recap! I'd love to spend some more time next year discovering more of the fungi. It's a group I never really learned too much about, so I'd have a ton of fun researching them!
This was worth the wait. Thanks for sharing your experience. And a one hour footage was a Treat at the right time.
My 9 year old son and I LOVED this video. We watched the whole thing and enjoyed it in our homeschool day. You explain so much about the wildlife and cameras. Thank you!
I"m so excited to watch this with my partner on this christmas eve ❤ !!!
We've been talking about the future a lot and i recently had the courage to share my desire to lead a life with a deep connexion with nature.
Your content is so inspiring and beautiful, thank you for sharing it with us!
That’s awesome to hear! Good luck with your future property, it’ll be quite the journey 🙂
Finally new video
It felt like ages have gone by
By the way your content , channel , and home is amazing ❤
And advance merry Christmas
So kind, thank you! Merry Christmas!
I love the quiet humor - shout out to basement water feature and dandelion mowing machine.
My goal is to one day know exactly what I'm looking at when you share those videos of animals, plants, insects with the music playing and no voice over to id.
I can't wait to see what the berry/ fruit patch has to offer.
This was the best "end of year" thng to 2023. I was very overwhelmed by the holidays that i basically sat this year out. This was therapeutic to say the least. Really helps me love the holidays again because holidays should really signifying the seasons changing and not what gifts to get who and what party is happening where.
Thank you as always!
Thanks so much! It's really nice to hear I was able to bring some peace during the hectic holidays. Hope you have a great end to the year and a happy new year, as well!
Thank you for this beautiful time.
A single second of this video is a masterpiece❤🔥 Great sir ❤
Thanks so much!!
The best way to spend the afternoon before Christmas Eve is watching another video from Stefano. Your property is beautiful and I cannot wait to see more footage of wildlife and get more inspiration to make my small garden even more wildlife friendly. Thank you.
PS: Chickadees are still the cutest! 🙂
So happy to hear! Merry Christmas!
Glad to have an update
Thank you, Stefano, you are a gift to humanity as well as wild life.🥰
Where does one find a YOU of their very own? 👀 Asking for a friend
Haha, going where the birds are is probably the best chance.
This channel is absolutely amazing! I have loved following all of your projects and happenings on the homestead this year. Can't wait to see what'll happen next year!
This has instantly become one my favorite videos. I already know I'll be watching it again, periodically. Thank you for your work!
I think what you are doing is incredible. So thoughtful and considerate. I'm enjoying your progress and can't wait to see how the homestead improves over the years.
