This is honestly so stunning, I truly cannot wait to see the wildlife you capture using the pond. It's amazing to see how big the kits are, it feels like they were living around your garage only yesterday!
Thank you! And I agree! I saw one running down my driveway the other day and I had to do a double take because I thought it was one of the adults based off of the size. They're almost fully grown!
You should consider adding a sand pit somewhere in the area, as birds also like to sand bathe. It helps quite a bit with their feather maintenance, as well as keeping pests away.
As my grandsons get old enough I will be showing them your vlogs. You are such a role model I wish I was still teaching as your vlogs would be a part of our programme. Thank you so much for caring.
@LadyYoop 🥰 I had a similar response! It is heartening to see someone so dedicated to all the creatures - birds, foxes, frogs, salamanders, insects . . . even 🐌?
Thoroughly enjoyed this as someone who has played around with ponds before I promise you give 12 months or 4 seasons to establish and the second year you will be amazed how it settles in and looks like it has been there forever. What a wonderful human being you are the way you nurture and protect your environment well done sir 👍
This pond is beautiful! Even though it was your first time and you weren't certain about the "proper" ways of putting in certain sections, it sounds like you did a great job improvising. You put so much effort into this, and it looks amazing! I hope it's a terrific success!
These water sanctuaries are so awesome!!! It just fills my heart with joy to see all the wildlife you capture on film, and I can’t wait to see footage from these newly created ponds. Your heart and passion for nature and all its wildlife gives me so much hope for our future... we can renew, regenerate, restore when our hearts are right. Thank you! ❤❤❤

It turned out so stunning! The moving water with the small waterfalls in the pond are such a great idea. Small rivers and brooks are my absolute favorite, I could watch and listen to the water flow for hours
Im honestly proud to say I watched Stefano when he was a relatively small channel at 25k, i always was amazed at the quality and effort he put into his videos, and as a young birder and nature enthusiast he is such an inspiration!! Thank you Stefano!
Thank you for taking the time to document the great work that you’re doing on your property and the beautiful animals that live there. It’s great to see someone taking so much care for the environment they live in and the wildlife they share it with. Brilliant!
Fantastic job mate on the water ponds and the video. Definitely adds some character and useful landscapes to your property. Look forward to future updates.
Don't bother with the expensive pond foam - it's identical to normal expanding foam, it's just black. Home Depot has black spray foam, I use that. It's not water proof, it just helps direct water, so definitely use the cheaper option next time. And yes, keeping that cheaply made flex hose inside the liner is best. If I had to guess, it's a 20ft roll from Canadian Tire. It will become brittle and crack anywhere exposed to the sun. Mine did it right at the pump connection, which was the deepest, so not sure they are made to last more than 2 seasons. And it turned out gorgeous!! Ha, don't worry, the 'pros' wing it all the time. Turned out great!
The few DIY videos you have are very impressive. It's great to see that you dont need to know exactly what you are doing to have a successful product! Really enjoyed this Stefano! It motivates me to try and build my own wildlife structures someday!
I seriously love your channel. The kind of stuff you do is the same kind of stuff my adult inner child has been becoming for years. I’ve wanted a small backyard man made River for as long as I can remember & this is so cool too!! Thank you for your channel! I learn so much!
This is amazing Stefano. Fantastic and beautiful work! Now, it's just a waiting game to see how many species of birds will show up. Can't wait to see the result!
Simply amazing! I have redone mine several times trying to get it right. I have come to the conclusion that the wildlife doesn’t care. I highly recommend adding some plant life to eat up the algae that will accumulate. I had to dig out a deeper section at the lower end of mine to put potted water plants in it and it made a huge difference in the quality of my water, but I’m sure you already know that :)
Thanks so much for the suggestions! Searching some of the ponds and wet areas we have for plant life to add, is on my to-do list! Just have to find some species that aren't too aggressive that will puncture the liner.
i also love birds so much!! thank you for taking care of the nature and wildlife! keep up what you're doing, you deserve all the love, and success you get!

Nice to see the mix and difference from the ponds in your earlier videos that don't incorporate pumps. Look forward to your next projects and really enjoyed this one!
That reminds me of a question I had while watching this. I've only ever had long-term success with a glass birdbath that's easy to clean, since every other birdbath I've experimented with seemed to need a lot of frequent cleaning to get rid of algae, dirt, fallen leaves, etc. Especially when there were loose river rocks in the birdbath. I was scrubbing off those loose stones every weekend, and I have a decent solar-powered pump with a filter system. So how do you keep the birdbath clean enough for birds to keep using it?
@@Cyssane Good question! There's so many variables that can make it challenging! Keep the bird bath out of the sun and in the shade to minimise algae growth and also copper pieces helps too, such as old copper coins. I use river stones for their smooth surface and avoid porous stones, I do stick with smooth surfaced bird baths too as they're easier to clean.
