Put a little bit of cinnamon in with your ground coffee before brewing it, it will taste better. Also, clean out your coffee pot with some distilled vinegar and water in the reservoir and an empty basket , run it through a brewing cycle then fill the reservoir with water and brew it again before brewing your coffee.

My mom made Folgers every single day as long as I can remember. In the 1960s, it was in an avocado colored electric percolator, and when I was little I loved sitting by the kitchen counter and watching it “bloop” into the glass handle on the top. Thank you for the memories of Mrs. Olsen and the best part of waking up. That jingle is still in my head to this day when I take the Folgers can down to make a pot. I've been drinking Folgers coffee since the mid-80s or so. At one point, French Roast was my choice but, as soon as they released Black Silk, that's the only thing I've drank since. What's weird is that in the last three months or so, they must have done something to the Black Silk as it's about half the strength it used to be (worse than their mild and Breakfast Blend). The first time it happened, my coffee came out looking like brown water. Now, I have to use double the amount of grounds as I used and therefore we are buying twice as much. I will be contacting them through their website and posting on their social media.

Wait about 5 minutes then put it all the rest of the water needed before turning on the heat. Wood Stove or Pot Belly. But I remember everyone saying, He makes the very best coffee I ever tasted. I never knew where he learned that little trick of added an extra tablespoon of the ground coffee & where he go that idea of giving the semi soaked grounds to saturate before adding the rest of the water to make it the pot. Mrs. Olson always to the rescue with Folger's Coffee. She was our TV grandma. Folger's is fine with there's no New Mexico Pinon Roasted Coffee Beans to grind. like we do every morning around here.
Later in the coffee story we'll hear about how in the mid 90s everyone decided to go out for a $5 cup of coffee at hipster Starbucks instead of brewing the same thing at home for .25 cents.
Not big coffee drinkers at home when I was growing up. Mom had a percolater but only used it on Sunday morns. I had a friend from HS who lived in Freehold NJ. There was a Nestle coffee plant nearby. Always smelt coffee outside
At 14 Mr.Folger was starting his fortune ! Mr. Heinz started his business with a garden plot his mother gifted him . He grew and bottled his vegetables , sold them direct to stores and town folks. American enterprises!
The old money Folger family , unlike the Tate family , accepted this infamy and downplayed this and moved on . Classic example of being in the wrong place at the wrong time . Sad story indeed .
@@JJJBRICE Had it not been for Doris Tate, those horrific murderers could possibly have been released on parole. Every family handles things in their own way so this is not an indictment of the Folger family after the loss of Abigail.
My aunt and uncle only drank Folgers, once I brought beans to grind from a local coffee shop. They said “that coffee is too fancy” they preferred their red can of Folgers. Also, not to bring up something dark, but the Helter Skelter murders at actress Sharon Tate’s house in 1969, by the Charles Manson family, one of the dead was the grandson of the Folgers empire if I’m not mistaken? Seems I remember that from the documentary I saw on those murders. He would have taken over the company but of course he didn’t make it that far sadly, those sick evil people killed him just because he was in the house, a friend of the Tate’s over visiting.
Poo-poo to jingles, plastic containers and Big Coffee. My family's standard has been Chock Full o' Nuts ... still in steel cans. (And always competitively priced.)
My family drank Folgers or Hills Bros., whichever was on sale or cheaper, and made it in a percolator -- I loved watching the coffee splashing in the little clear glass knob on top. To me there is no more comforting of an aroma as coffee brewing and bacon frying in the morning.
Way back then when Folgers wasn’t available in New Brunswick,we crossed over to Madawaska Maine for the good stuff.Crossing to buy groceries was easier back then. Folgers is my favourite to this day.

I would love to return to New Mexico some day!!
I love ❤️ Folgers black silk yum yum yummy yum yum!!!!!! I need more coffee n my kcups please!!!!!!
My Grandfather had a huge crush on Mrs. Olson. My Grandmother hated her! 😂👴🏻👵🏻😂
And thank you for the wonderfully unobtrusive background music
At 14 Mr.Folger was starting his fortune ! Mr. Heinz started his business with a garden plot his mother gifted him . He grew and bottled his vegetables , sold them direct to stores and town folks. American enterprises!
Sad that Abigail Folger was a victim of the Manson family!
I still use an electric percolator!
@@billchambersmarquez2768 Those are the best.
A percolator…..all the coffee snobs are recoiling in horror right now. 😂
Nothin like the ol percolator!
So true!! ✌🏻🙂✌🏻
I’m 61 yrs old & just had Folgers for the 1st time about a year ago. It’s not awful…
I have always loved their commercials though!
One of my favorite brands!!!! :)
Thank You !
....."good to the last drop" lol
That was Maxwell house coffee
I have Maxwell House on my nightstand next to my bed in between my bed and a coffee maker as I write this. 😁😁
It is true. The best part of waking up IS Folgers in your cup. 🍵 🎶 😃
Way back then when Folgers wasn’t available in New Brunswick,we crossed over to Madawaska Maine for the good stuff.Crossing to buy groceries was easier back then. Folgers is my favourite to this day.
I am having a cup of Folgers Coffee while watching Folgers Coffee Video...
Love my Folger's Coffee...
