Professional production as ever BB. Would be nice if matrix recognised your ability in front of the camera and you became a brand ambassador. Looks a good pole first review well done you. Keep up the good work. All the best tight lines Pete 🎣👍
Great review, got mine two weeks ago, managed to get it out once and loved it, have the MTX3 V1 and thought that was a great pole, this is much better in so many ways. Good luck with yours
Hi BB, loved the vid as usual. Just been reading some of the comments and came across Baldricks, and how your review and A4U differ. Having fished with the MTX3, 4 and 5 I’m not sure how you can get an honest and impartial review whilst sitting in a shop and giving a pole a waggle🤷🏻♂️ a-posed to actually sitting on the bank and putting the pole through its paces. So keep up the good work, don’t change the way you review tackle, I believe it gives us a true representation of how tackle performs IRL. 🎣🎣🎣🎣
Cheers DC… I have to admit, I love the relationship Ben on A4U has with the independent ‘Fishing Tackle & Bait’ and he’s always one of the first to give us a look at new products, it looks like they back him and give 100% support, which is so nice to see… he’s offered me a lot of support since starting the channel and I respect his opinions… I do like to make sure I get out and test these toys in the wild though, but I can only do so when I have an opportunity to be lent one… staying independent of Sponsorship is really important for authenticity and honest opinions, which is what the channel and I are about 👍🏻 thanks for your comment and support 👍🏻 BB
I agree great to get it on the bank to test. When you hold lots of poles as I do you can get a feel anywhere of how it feels to hold. The weight will be different catching a fish but not just sitting with it. Which you do 90% of the session. Always good to get down to the shop and sit with it as BB said.
Appreciate the camera feedback… didn’t know how it would go down 🤷🏻♂️ but it seems positive 👍🏻 appreciate the kind words and support as always Dave 👍🏻 BB
Nice video 😊 i bought V2 sections 3 and 4 to my old mtx1 and the new ones are a bit longer and goes deeper in to sections, that makes my pole a bit stiffer. Also V2 are reinforced and have nose cons. A nice improvement on a mtx poles.
Yes mate. It is a big plus that all Matrix sections are interchangeable. I use the top kits plus sections 3 and 4 from a MTX margin pole onto my MTX3 to beef it up for margin fishing. Makes a very strong setup and I can fish it at length.
Nice one BB, I have been using the 360 cameras on my channel now for a few months, they are great especially when filming on your own. Keep it up mate your channel is doing really well😊👍.

Great vid, as you usually give us mate 👍🏼 Beautiful fish, and NICE pole. If I had the extra pennies, the Matrix poles lately could steer me away from my MAP poles. Great new camera setups too BB 👍🏼
Very good honest review after having a MTX 4 which I broke the number 4 several times it’s nice here your concerns at it’s potential limits, love the MTX but always had doubts about strength currently have Garbolino uk1 which never makes me concerned as with matrix. But if it’s better would still be interested at trying. Thanks Ian

Great review and video as always BB. Loving the new Camera set up ❤ I often wonder if Poles feel heavier and awkward to various people down to thier build. Someone big and muscular would certainly be able to weald something better compared to another slight of frame if you get my drift ?
I think it’s all technique Andy… you watch Andy Kinder fish a pole and it looks effortless, yet he’s one of the smaller anglers around 🤷🏻♂️ thanks so much for the support Andy 👍🏻 BB
@@FirstTimeFishing My mate would disagree. Hes got a top end browning pole and he said it was so easy to fish with at 16m when he was over weight. Hes lost 5 stone + and he now says he cant fish with it how he used to ie under one arm at 16m

If you type ‘Matrix MTX5 Pole’ into Google, the list of the package is available on multiple websites for you… and presented far better than I ever could. Wow… the ultimate question! I would love either of them David and it all depends on what you go fishing for and your style of angling… If you’re the angler who mainly fishes in the summer for bigger fish, in my opinion, the Superium pips it… I found it built for strength and force, and gives you great confidence of getting a bigger fish to the net… however, if you fish all year, looking for an all-rounder, silvers in the winter, occasional river fishing on the pole, and F1’s etc… the Matrix pips it for me… both fantastic poles and a choice is there to accommodate both styles 👍🏻 great question David! 👍🏻 BB

Angling4U has done 2 reviews of the new MTX3 and the new MTX4 V2 versions. Lets just say the results were disappointing. Ben, who does these reviews says that the new MTX4 is the worst 16 metre modern pole that he has tested. In short he said it was crap. MTX4 review ruclips.net/video/BcAXTdxfaBc/видео.html MTX3 review ruclips.net/video/wJecd8fs-6o/видео.html Matrix have gone backwards. The V1 versions are far better poles. Obviously Matrix are now using cheaper carbon sheet and covering their shortfalls with extra reinforced joints. Profit over performance seems to be the motivation for these new poles. Even this new MTX5 is heavier than the previous MTX4. That is not an improvement. Saw a video the other day of Jamie Hughes shoving a MTX4 V2 version butt section onto his older MTX4 making it look like he is using the newer version pole. He isn't. Not a good endorsement of Matrix latest offering.
Interesting Baldrick… I can honestly say, hand on heart, that this MTX5 is brilliant, I could hardly fault it really… the Pole may be heavier, but the one thing I was really impressed with was the balance… I truly believe you don’t feel that until you hook a fish and need to play it… the central balance point feels completely different, the top kit and top 3 sections feel lighter than the MTX4 v1 and the butt sections feel heavier and stronger than the MTX4 v1… I do feel this plays a massive part when you hold the pole with half a metre and a dolly butt section out behind you… the balance is fantastic and ultimately makes it feel lighter in the hand at 16m. Hopefully I’ll get my hands on the v2’s soon, to compare… thanks for your comment and support Baldrick 👍🏻 BB

@@craighope2088 What a load of crap. Ben has owned numerous poles. Way more than the average angler. He has done numerous reviews. All of them available on YT for you to scrutinise. He currently uses a Middy Reactacore XZ65-3. This is Middy's flagship pole worth over 4 grand. Middy respected his opinion so much that they gave it to him for free.
Everything you wrote is complete garbage and you even took the time to talk garbage in capital letters. As though somehow it made your comment count.
How does not being able to afford something make you ineligible to have an opinion on it?
How many poles have you reviewed?
Just so we can educate you. Here is Ben reviewing his brand new flagship pole. Another thing to note is that most of his other gear is from Matrix. Even wearing Matrix clothing. You have made yourself look a complete fool.
We need genuine opinions. Not rants from uninformed people with hurt feelings.

Nice video 😊 i bought V2 sections 3 and 4 to my old mtx1 and the new ones are a bit longer and goes deeper in to sections, that makes my pole a bit stiffer.
Also V2 are reinforced and have nose cons. A nice improvement on a mtx poles.
Great comment Grzegorz and great innovation! 👍🏻 BB
