Admittedly any music connoisseur will have their favorite singer or singers, some of which will have greater influence and reputation according to their genre and style. This duet and quartet serves to remind everyone that there were many great singers and entertainers worth remembering, for many great reasons…
Dinah must have sang at least one duet with every entertainer for two generations. That says something for her versatility, longevity and popularity in the industry.
.......really Great, ...just beautiful, their voices! So much right about this, ....couldn't be better actually ....I got chills when they sang that one song! ...it's a great way to think of it, God's Spirit "Holy Acts of kindness and Deeds of Godly Devotion" I thought of that scripture ...true entertainers and encouraging us to beware of goodness in our hearts, it's God, ....when we can do good works the Bible says "we're lending to God when we do good towards others"
I was always amazed by the soulfulness of Dinah Shore. Here was a Jewish girl from the South who could keep right up with any African-American performer when it came to doing a blues, jazz or gospel number. Look and listen to her with Nat Cole on this video. She's got the goods.
Wow. Love Nat. Never was a big a Dinah fan... but more you tube videos I see of here with some the of the greats and she does great work - hell - Dinah is winning me over.
Appreciate that she had blacks on her show at that time and sang a Negro spiritual. Appreciate that she was able to hang music-wise with the greatest artists as the host of her show.
Watching these videos of old performers makes me yearn for this human spontaneous organic interaction again. Watching the genuine energy here is magical. To all you technocrat globalists, your Transhuman Agenda will NEVER surpass this. No DNA manipulation required here. X0
For those who were too young to remember, the first kiss between a white woman and an African-American on television was on the Dinah Shore show when she kissed Harry Belafonte. I know, I saw it -- we always watched the Dinah Shore show.
Wow! A black man from Chicago and a white gal from Tennessee. On TV in 1961. And look everybody - they're getting along (famously) & having the time of their life! Take heed, history. Take heed. Still obvious problems: a) Miss Dinah could not embrace or touch Mr. Cole at the end of their medley. b) An all-white gospel choir. Right. Because that's an accurate portrayal of gospel music. Nevertheless, segregation issues aside, still great to see these two legends perform together.
Yeah, we know. Sorry we ruined the word for all you folks, but it's a hell of a lot better than the many crappy words you used to call gay people back in the "good old days".
+Chris N, hey I know, let's change the word "murderer" to "happyman", that way the murderers won't feel so dirty and offended. That idea makes me feel gay!
Dinah Show remains class!!!

It is a marvellous duet
Dinah Shore and Nat King Cole.
Two of the best singers of their.... no, of any generation.

She was wonderful.
Born in the 90s but boy was this entertaining. An era I wish I could've experienced first hand.
AT 85 I STILL THRILL!!

@@jennylady6945 Well, no one could.
Actually- back in the day, there was a rumour in the black community that Dinah had a black heritage.
@@jennylady6945 , no but she could outdo you.

She won me over.

Me also. Dinah is always quietly grooving.
Dinahs sense of rhythm is amazing.

They BOTH had/have Jewish roots.
Not joking.
Wonderful HUMANS!
They could have done an LP of duets.
Fantastic! I'm sure thus drove the Southern affiliates nuts.
About as creamy and delicious as it gets! Yum, yum, yum!
Can you upload the opening of this show and any other parts?
This is when TV showcased talent!!!
