Mr Luke played the role of Master Po to perfection. He was my favorite character of the series. I have learned many things from the humble priest . RIP Mr.Luke and thank you.
This scene was right after young Caine had just walked the length of the rice paper and was told that "When you can walk this rice paper without tearing it, your steps will not be heard". He walked the rice paper without tearing it, But he's got more work to do if he thinks he can walk up on blind Master Po.
If I'm correct, (I haven't known any blind Masters, but a couple with sight) it isn't just a matter of hearing Grasshopper, with the right spiritual practice you can sense things via mental impressions; a bit (or a lot?!) like intuition. I asked a question via an oracle we had set up in our temple (temple for lack of a better word), I asked my former master about my question (to do with moving house) he placed the oracle paper near his forehead, & he could 'see' the mental impression of my question, in the form of describing what the two houses I was trying to choose between looked like. Master Po could probably 'see' Grasshopper in much the same way.
Those Priests taught much of the the actual Esoteric Knowledge and Philosophy. I wonder how many people realized what they were seeing at the time. Didn't Bruce Lee originally Develop this Series? How many people really understand the implications of that? Great video.
Bruce Lee had an idea for a series in which a Chinese martial arts warrior would wander the West, but I do not think he conceived any kind of philosophical dimension to The Warrior in the way that Ed Spielman and the writers of Kung Fu developed it. Lee ended up turning to movies instead of television, however, and you can't claim ownership of a basic idea.
@@LordZontar Thanks for clearing that up. I knew it was something like that. In any case, I enjoy the philosophical teachings in this series. Great comment.
So funny , kane after just mastering walking the rice paper so his footsteps wil not be heard tries to creep up on master po 😊 but he who knows of a master at this level does not use physical senses he feels through energies and felt the approach of kane through his energy field or Aura .
There's a lot of good life lessons in this show. Even as a Christian, I can admit that a lot of its morals are wise. But I don't agree with this one. Ambition is not inherently wrong for anyone. Ambition is a driving force for accomplishing good in the world. And that's the key: ambition should be yolked by the desire to do good, so that it does not descend into obsession, greed, or pride. This allows it to fall to the way side if pursuit of an ambition would accomplish an evil. But a world like ours free of any and all semblance of ambition would be a world in which no one improves themselves, no one improves their surroundings, decay reigns, and no good is ever accomplished. After all, is it not an ambition for him to raise Caine to be a priest that will follow in his footsteps?

Aye
Damn this series! Every time I get ambitious in life this exchange pops into my head and ruins everything for my ego!
Thank you for teaching me many lessons master Po and master Kwai Chang.
That last statement from Master Po reminds us all:No Human Being is perfect. We simply are what we are.
Caine's expression when he got caught cracks me up every time lol.
And that ambition got the old man killed.

Master Po heard a grasshopper at his feet! No chance Caine is sneaking up on him... LOL!

I absolutely love Master Po's ambition and his serenity

That's exactly right in my humble opinion.
0:20 “you have learned discipline and many new abilities, Stick Insect.” “Grasshopper, my name name is Grasshopper, Master.”
his ambition got him killed
Non the less, it is ambition!
042873E to have no ambition is to remain stagnant and life fades away. With ambition also comes hope.
042873E But who among us is without flaw?
That never occurred to me. Excellent observation.

The full moon of May sounds like it's related to Vesak and the Buddha's birthday.
