Far too many drivers seem to think that the response to anything is hit the brakes. This is definitely one of those situations where the driver should absolutely not have hit the brakes and really should’ve hit the accelerator instead.
That may be true but why are you bringing it up here. After all, I doubt if anyone on the planet would hit the brakes if they noticed that they were about to be rear-ended. And in this case the guy in the SUV did not hit his brakes until after he had already been struck by the wing of the plane and at this point accelerating would have done nothing at all since the plane was already spinning at this point and the plane's nose was going to slam into the SUV no matter what. The time to accelerate would have been before the impact even occurred but unfortunately most drivers are pretty oblivious to what’s going on behind them most of the time. It's just the pilots back luck that he came in behind the one guy on the freeway who was actually doing the speed limit. That plane came in with no flaps - as you would have to with no power - which means he was going at least 85mph and the SUV was likely doing about 65mph. This means that even if the SUV driver had seen the plane in his mirror right after it touched down and he immediately hit the gas he would likely not have been able to accelerate away fast enough to avoid the impact and resultant crash.
Far too many commenters seem to overestimate their own expertise and/or ability to execute with perfection in zero notice crises....but sure, keep on commenting.

*that driver on the right should be charged with criminal oblivion. how the hell did that driver not see an airplane land behind them??*
no ..it was dark , the angle & at that speed wouldn’t have been much reaction . you can see the cars behind it didn’t realize til last minute but were able to stop since it was in front of them
@@amirabrown2400 *there is no way somebody wouldn't hear and see an airplane coming in and in close proximity. the driver is mindless.*
What was the speed limit on that road?😳
Bro thought it was GTA
SUV driver clearly had zero awareness or was too busy on the damn phone.
I wonder if his auto insurance covers an air plane crashing into you? Lol
that car had plenty of opportunity to swerve to the right, but regardless it's a miracle nobody was badly hurt
Yes, because everyone keeps their eye on their rear-view mirror in case an airplane tries to land behind you, The driver literally had 3 seconds to notice and dodge the plane, you'd be lucky to notice it too
@@rizizumright cause the noise and huge flashing lights weren't enough. And those lights are not small . . . They very very bright
@@dawsonpate7385 Look man, if I start hearing an airplane noise the last place I'm gonna look for is behind me, most people would do the same as the person in the video, it was a confusing situation and only a few seconds to react
@@rizizum I'll give the guy some wiggle room cause u r right about that . . . But I lost it at seeing the person brake. Why da f would u break when u notice the plane. And even swapped lanes . . . Who doesn't check their mirror before swapping lanes . . . It's basic driving 101
@@dawsonpate7385 Cause you look behind you and see nothing, then you look behind you again 5 seconds later and there is a plane behind you, you just get startled, you don't even know if the plane is moving cause your brain wasn't even expecting a plane there to begin with. It's to easy to make decisions when you're sitting in your sofa with all the context in the world about what will happen in this scenario
Shout-out to the car that parked behind the accident and put on the hazards. Whoever driving that car is a real one.
Driver: Hello, I’d like to file an insurance claim
Geico: sure can you describe the vehicle that hit you?
Driver: sure, it’s a plane. I got rear ended by a plane
Geico: …..
Driver: …
When the plane already has a road line, no one moves
Each driver: hit the brake.
Literally a once in a lifetime event. What a story they have to tell.
The pilot has a new invention 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂of driving an aeroplane on a high way
"sorry but our insurance policies are only for car-car crash incidents"
Boss: Why are you late?
Driver: Well... plane crashed into me.
"why are you late to work today?" you will NOT believe me. also imagine calling your insurance lmfao, "what type of vehicle hit u for the accident?" "uhhhh.. a plane?"
Imagine not imaging this
Bro got the “WATCH YO JET😭😭” moment💀
