"Can I at least select the font?" EPIC! VERY funny! Thank you for that, and for the super-instructive video!
You are the first person to mention the lyrics! Thank you! I wrote them wondering if anyone would catch all of that. 🤣 I’m glad these are helpful. 👍
Thanks for the way to operate the tools in Suno. Great lyrics, coupled with various persona, so full of fun and informative..
Glad it was helpful!
I have been writing lyrics for a long time. I am not a musician. Suno lets me make my lyrics into songs and I love it. I have not taken advantage of the more advanced features of Suno, so thanks for the 2 videos on them.
Glad to help! I agree with you about this being a tool for people to use. It’s a wonderful way to explore music and help those who may not know what to do with their lyrics. Would love to hear what you come up with!
The final product after all the editing was amazing
That’s great!! I’m glad it worked for you!
Thank you for your videos. I have been composing with Suno for about 1 year, and there are issues which still have not been corrected by the Suno team. When using the "extend" feature to try and have a composition come to a concise, definitive ending, the AI platform invariably delivers an overly long (generally around 1:42) extension that still doesn't end. No matter what combination of prompts I try in the lyric section or style section, it takes so many attempts to generate something that's usable that I end up downloading splits and recreating the ending in a DAW. The wasting of credits is extensive, and should be a priority for Suno's tech group.
I’ve run into similar issues. The way I’ve circumvented it is using the trim function to end the song is a little better place then use cover to redo the entire song. That smooths out the ending, but isn’t a solution if you really like everything else in the song.
The controls in Suno are in NO way precise. 🤦♂️
11:46 - Any moment where the song suddenly pauses halfway through like this is what I’d call an “unneeded break”. What I like to do as a free user is extend before that period to make the melody (and sometimes tempo) more consistent. For me, one consistent song is better than many overly dynamic songs, and while it’s harder to do that without “Replace Section”, “Cover”, or even V4, this trick does provide a workaround (this is coming from someone who mainly does instrumentals).
The extend definitely helps. A lot of people have written to me asking about fixing lyrics which is where replace can really help. I plan to explore instrumentals more soon. I’m glad you’re finding some things that work!
@@realmattdean a maioria das musicas que faço sao em ingles, toquei em bandas por 8 anos, mas fiquei tetraplegico e o suno é mais facil de usar atualmente, voce poderia me explicar como estender a musica?
Thanks very much for this. I've been frustrated by the Replace Section function in Suno, but I admit I never really took the time to figure it out properly. This helps.
I’m glad it’s helpful. Looking forward to hearing what you come up with!
@@realmattdean I posted a song yesterday, but I admit that because I wasn't good enough with the Replace function I did a bit of splicing in my DAW. Worked alright in the long run because I needed to adjust some the volume in a couple of spots.
@ sounds like a good way to go. These are tools serve us and our artistic endeavors. Don’t be afraid to release your creations and then make the next one even better!
Very instructive! Thank you. Also, I noted that prior to creating the cover there was some "fuzz" in the musical background. And, after you made the cover this mostly disappeared. Also, yes the "random noise" is interesting. I've had this happen also - where the music seems to just decompose. At an AI level I'm wondering if this is a "stochastic descent" problem of the AI - where it gets stuck in a "local minimum" and then begins to backpropagate errors. It is somewhat interesting to listen to the decomposition. (I'm a neurologist, not an AI guy; but, I think I understand some of the issues [maybe not].)
I think it goes back to what it’s being trained on and being able to recognize what it should and should not be adding in. But that’s a really interesting idea you. Honestly I’m surprised it can do what it’s doing now. Think about what it’ll sound like in anouther year!
What a great job--thanks for your efforts!😄😄😄
Thank you!
your tutorials have been really helpful so far.. i'd like to see some more content on personas, and, again, on changing the vocal styles.. vocal colors etc.. because every female voice sounds the same.. male voices also, but a littlr less.. thanks, and keep up the good work :)
Thanks! I’m so glad these are helpful. Have you checked out Episode 6 “create unique voices”? I agree that many of these voices sound very very similar. I have found a few tricks that seem to help. Using descriptive terms starting with they range of singer (soprano, alto, tenor, baritone) and using accents like “Brooklyn accent” “southern accent” or trying other languages in the lyrics like Spanish or Gaelic. Once you have a unique voice, save it as a persona and then use it on a new song. This won’t work all the time as Suno is still working out the bugs, but it should help. I also have some public personas that you can try out as well! Good luck and let me know what works for you.
@realmattdean i will let you know, thanks :)
Thank you for your tutorial, I am a musician and would like to ask if there is a way on the persona section I can just put my sound @@realmattdean
Oh man, the personas thing has been a bit frustrating to me. One of the male personas I have created sometimes still randomly becomes a female voice if I touch the style prompt at all. I wanted to do a slow ballad, so I just added ballad to the beginning of my style prompt, and boom, suddenly my male 80s metal singer persona was a female.
That's really frustrating,
I think if they could add a system where you put your own voice and use it@@HairTodayGlamTomorrow
At another level, I think you can instruct Suno to due duets, or at least switch between voices in different voices. Do you happen to know if you can concatenate this into four part harmony within the software? (I suspect it can be done outside Suno in other software. However, Suno only allows export in MP3 or WAV; so, there would be the problem of translation to a MIDI format to facilitate the harmony creation.)
It doesn’t seem that Suno can do things quite as complex as that just yet. At least not on a consistent basis.
Alll fine, if write short song... i was fight with suno around 2 days to make 4 verse song with male and female voice ... male singer in verse and female singer in chorus... it was very hard to do...
It does NOT seem to like to switch between singers. Very very hard. I’ve been able to get it to switch between them by using the call and respond method with ( ) for the 2nd voice.
The biggest problem beside noise and shimmer , is Suno "Signature" , that you need to get rid of it. To bad, your songs also have it.
If i listen a song i can tell in seconds if it's made with Suno.
Ya - the quality is t great yet. It feels like bad MP3 x 5….

There is no way to delete a part of the song in the middle?
edit: seems that i cant delete any part from the middle. I had to crop and then recreate the rest again with extend.
It would be nice to have a crop/remove function rather than just edit replace
I have trouble changing lyrics when running cover it ignores my changes and sticks to original lyrics, I hear you say you can change lyrics in Cover but don't show it.
I’ve been able to get it to correct some lyrics in cover, but not 100% of the time. It does however work nearly 100% when you use replace or extend. Both options will keep the same or similar melody. If it doesn’t fix in cover - try that method.
@@realmattdean Thanks will give that a go.
What? You mean that the user can upload his/her original song (song-length melody with lyrics) and Suno will create a cover using the same melody line and lyrics (melody and lyrics unchanged)? Or is the AI cover just for AI generated songs within suno?
It’s for both.
I’m going to do a video on that in a couple weeks.
@@realmattdean Looking forward to that. Thank you much!
I just listened to new songs from Suno and Udio. Suno generations sound better to me.
I haven’t dived into udio much yet. Was going to look deeper at it in the coming weeks. It’s pretty impressive what Suno can do.
From today I will name you my saint of replace hahahaha and I will invoke you so that it turns out well, because in my case that damn application, the replacement always makes me bad and not about changing words but rather I use it because something sings badly and stutters for example... ..For me it did not leave the Beta state although they already released it and it is final
Hahahaha. I think having a Saint Matt of Suno will give you the exact same luck as we currently have at getting what we want out of this crazy software. I give it a 50/50 shot of getting what you asked for, or getting something random. Now go say 3 “Hail Suno”s and one “Matt Father of Grace notes” and see if it responds to your prompts. 🤣🤷🕺
Why v3.5?
I go back and forth between 3.5 and 4. The shimmer in 4 annoys me, but it’s been getting better. And when it comes to functionality and teaching the methods and prompts, they are similar.
@@realmattdean use 3.5, 4 is like cooking a cake with light ingredients and 3.5 is the original recipe, if we add that when you go from 3.5 to 4 the arrangements of the song change, that's when I start to hate it hahaha
This is nothing advanced tbh, see just tinkering with same concepts, try smtn json style, can say for sure it still reads out instrumentation, tag, mood and some other stuff from tags, tho main ones working well in .json format and it will look more like the code. Another way is to make inputs in mardown styled structures with square brackets
Thanks for your thoughts!
