Let's not forget, Tillerson used to work for ExxonMobil, and in that post, he did business with Putin. We can only guess whether he had anything to do with undermining the EPA. And when he was the Secretary of State, he fired dozens of experienced diplomats whose job was to keep him informed, and didn't hire anyone to replace this sudden void of expertise. It signaled to the outside world that the US isn't interested in their affairs, and that they can half-ass diplomacy. He didn't do a "good job". We actually don't know much of what he did, but there's no reason to believe he made a lot of things better. That said, it's good that he (allegedly) spoke up, and it was indeed hilarious.

That logic is playing right into Trump's craziness. If he loses re-election in 2020 then he'll just make himself a martyr for a "cheated election". There's no way he'd simply accept losing by getting less votes... look at how he still talks about "winning" the popular vote if no "illegals" voted. No matter how he leaves office, it will be spun to make his base angry. Impeachment should already be underway.

A point of note: a well-known atheist RUclipsr and politician AronRa has been using the Twilight Zone analogy to describe the religious mindset for years now. It's fascinating to see this analogy bleed into the mainstream, but it means this sort of dangerous mindset has infected untold numbers of our population.

I've also liken the episode to Trump and his sycophants. I think it feels weird because we are seeing things that should not be. It's like looking in the mirror and not seeing yourself. People who we look to to uphold the laws are telling us that in this instance the law doesn't matter. Those who were once fiercely anti- Putin are now squarely in his pocket, because Trump wants them to be. Also Trump has made it OK to be anti-America and pro-Putin/Russia or as seeing the two ways of governing as being morally equivalent. All this boils down to loyalty to Trump and those he is loyal to.

I think Jim Jordan brought articles of impeachment for an even bigger purpose. It enables conservatives like Gowdy, Ryan to be able to say 'this is not the standard for high crime'. When democrats bring articles of impeachment against Trump, this enables them to say 'See, I've been consistent ... the charges do not rise to the level of high crimes ... just like it did not, in the Rosenstein case'.
This show by JJ and MM serve a larger purpose for the Republicans and personally, while I'm not a fan of these guys, I think this move is borderline - 'Genius' (/Nefarious).

I once had a vivid, realistic nightmare about the world being blown up by nukes. Just before I woke up I was told by someone, "You're supposed to be in the dimensional timeline where this never happened. Here let me send you there."
I was extremely confused that morning and for a couple of days had this weird feeling, although obviously based on fictitious events, I was so relieved to be in a world that wasn't destroyed. Right now, I'm reminded of that nightmare, seeing the way the POTUS talks and behaves. I have the overwhelming desire to want to go back to when I was awake. The difference is, I'm not dreaming anymore. We can only go forward with this. So let's go in the right direction. We've all been made to feel like we're losing our minds, so it's time to try and bring some democracy back. Vote carefully in the upcoming midterms. O_o
