I got into FPV about a month ago, right around when this thing became available. I bought it as my first drone and was NOT disappointed. I can speak for the durability of the LED ducts and say they are a solid 8/10. I have had about 10-15 light crashes, and 3 bad crashes with one EXTREME crash where I accidentally did a full send into concrete while flying line of sight. I currently have a new prop guard on the way, but still have the current one connected with only one of four mounting points completely broken off the frame and another cracked. I’d also highly recommend upgrading the antenna right off the bat if you’re using analog. The stock wire antenna it terrible. Get yourself a good lollipop antenna and you’ll see more than double the performance.

That little glare you start talking about at 6:00 is night unavoidable. I have jammed that lil lens down and every time I fly it works its way forward at some point. 4 minutes is def impressive. The Flywoo 750mah I have BARELY last 2 minutes. I think i fly more slowly and reserved than you were in this video but I also fly in the mountain canyons and my packs could be sapped by the frigid air. Since you were mentioning durability at about 10:00 i did plug a tree while doing orbits and landed in snow. Since it was BNF from the manufacturer, it is the only rig I have that is not conformal coated. The quad shut down the two right motors and would not fly until completely dry. After hitting the tree at average orbit speed there was no damage. I like it so far. This is a great review video right here. I am going to dremel that camera mount because I need much more cam angle.
Interesting information - thank you for sharing. TBH I usually fly with an ND8 filter on and if its too dark I will fly it with no protection. But I didnt know we couldnt avoid that glare. Also good to know about the durability. I guess the nice part is we can just swap out the ducts separately which is a nice build design

I crashed mine a bunch yesterday (Walksnail version) and it felt like the most durable quad I own, honestly) the frame is light and has a lot of flex. Not stiff like the ducts on a mob or pico.
Interesting - appreciate the perspective. I still haven’t had any crashes but fingers crossed it’s fine when I do! I just assumed since were over 100gs and the ducts have no spoke support whatsoever they would crack like an egg 😂
I had this drone (lost it in the ocean by now haha) but i love this drone and I will buy it again. I watched this video before buying, so I bought a bunch of extra ducts since it seemed fragile. but I crashed it a bunch and I neve rhad to replace it. What I did notice was a lot more fragile then expected was the o3 mount on the bottom of the drone. It was breaking and It was not easily available to buy online
Interesting question - TBH i did not notice much of a difference. Both are somewhat loud, especially overhead. For example, those surfers in the opening cinematic looked up at it despite the waves crashing LOL maybe it was just the LEDs. Thank you for the kind words : )
if i buy this and i put my own naked 03 in it will i need to alter any of the PID's to get the same flight characteristic's same smooth flight as with the full 03 version or will it fly just fine if not better if i just put the naked 03 in and go fly?
This version IS the one with the naked 03 - do you mean if you bought just the frame kit? Either way, you can just apply the specific CLI from flywoos website for the version you build - in this case, if you bought the frame kit and installed the naked 03, you can just apply that CLI. Although I assume they didn’t change the tune between the regular 03 version and the naked 03

Brother.. I was NOT expecting it to be that agile. Until now I kept wondering what everyone's fascination was with it. I just assumed it would fly like a pig. I am extremely impressed. I have to build a naked o3 something now. Not sure what. Is it out of line to think that a naked o3 would be decent on a 3" toothpick? Can't wait to see what people use this setup for.
Sorry i missed this, Mike! I was really fiending for a TP3 style toothpick with a naked O3 in it after flying this.. The problem with this system is that it is a dual board setup - if we put it on a toothpick design we would have a really tall stack with the cam on top.. BUT i think we will be seeing a more capable 2s 2" 03 micro in the near future - maybe even on this channel 👀👀
I don't geht why a 45mm prop or 2" prop O3 whoop. The pavo 16 was the pioneer only to acieve sub100g for the drone law in Japan. Now all the others are coming making light 2" O3 whoops. I think a light 2.5" O3 cinewhoop would fly much better. A 2.5" O3 whoop with an all up weight of ~ 160g would be awesome. The ones out now are more like 240g. Try the gemfan 2040 on the mobula8. Much better imo
In the US, the magic number for us (currently) is 250g. I think the appeal of these 2s 2" Micro Cinewhoops are really just the formfactor (how small can we make a cinewhoop and still have good performance?). So far that answer seems to be 85mm. Although I agree with you in regard to the 100g limit, especially in Japan. I should mentioned the Pavo Pico achieved this in my video because that is certainly a benefit of it. I was planning a trip there and was looking for exactly that sub100g platform. In that perspective, if we are going over the 100g limit, why not increase the prop size and get even better performance? I think that the best option for this would be a ductless drone - i think in the near future we will see a 2" sub 100g 03 micro with plenty of performance - i hope to show it on this channel ;) I will definitely try out those gemfan 2040s you recommended though - thank you very much!
I was in the same boat tbh - I ended up going with the V2 goggles because I found them off ebay for $220 bucks compared to the goggles 2 at over $600 . I mainly wanted the 03 for the onboard 4k and wasn't really concerned with the quality of the goggle feed. Id say, if you can find them cheap, V2 still looks great in the goggles and you get that CRISP O3 4k DVR regardless
What’s up MR meaty ! I can tell you the analog mob 8 is great and shares none of the issues I have with the O3 mob 8. I would say the extra price and build configuration of the fly lens would not be better suited to freestyle like the mob 8 is. The mob 8 format is definitely a freestyle quad first O3 cinewhoop second. Fly lens was designed as a cinewhoop from jump IMO
Good to know. I LOVE my analog mob8 but it felt wonky when I strapped my thumb cam to it. Thinking analog flylens might be good for a thumb cam cinewhoop!
This is what I’ve found to be the best O3 settings: 4k 60fps, EIS off, Wide, 1/60-1/120 shutter speed, Auto ISO (ideally staying 100-400), D-Cinelike color to get 10-bit, locked white balance, Sharpness -2, Denoising -2. Stabilization: Gyroflow using 0.25 smoothness and dynamic zooming speed of 4 seconds.
You should be able to carry a naked gopro with this setup as long as they make the appropriate mounts for it. Youll get considerably less performance out of it and flight time - might be best to go analog if youre using an external cam

Unfortunately, I have not had a chance to test the 1000mah, only the 720s, in which I got about 4:45 which was the absolute longest i was able to push it. Why the 1000mah is similar could be a few different factors such as the cell quality or the additional weight of the larger battery cancels out the additional MAH. I would say the 1000mah should still give you a good flight experience but 4-5 min is about the max time you will get

I am interested in the analog version but I’m curious why they wouldn’t make the action camera mount not mounted to the dampener over the camera.
Good point - I actually wasnt aware of that. Maybe their main focus with this build was the 03 and other HD options
I went NBD, and then stripped it to a mobigital by quad sensei. A bit more work to build but it sits at about 50g no battery
