I hope you enjoy another one of these cute and easy t-shirt dress tutorials. These are so easy to make and hopefully I gave you some ideas and some inspirations to sew your own. I have been sewing for over 25 years. I mostly sew quilts. I am so happy I came across your channel as I learned something new. It never dawned on me that there are fabric weights that could be used to hold fabric down whilst cutting a pattern. Thank you for your videos.
I love this idea. These t-shirt dresses would be a good addition to the pillowcase dresses some of our locals make for a South American girls' home/orphanage.

Isn't it amazing what a little piece of fabric or lace and z few buttons can make? When my baby boy was this size, I could get him a pair of pull up pants out of 1/8th yard of fabric. He had a bunch because they were so easy. Would've loved a little girl to make these adorable dresses. Great job Amy! I am a new subscriber after watching this video.
I’m a quilter and making clothes has always intimidated me, but I want to make dress for my granddaughter. This way of making a dress looks super simple, so I am going to give it a go. Thank you for sharing❤️

These dresses are darling! Years ago I made some t-shirt dresses where I added material at the hem of shirt. Made matching miniature dresses for daughter's doll. Enjoyed seeing your video.

Love, love, love anything by the Meyer's brand... soap, detergent, room sprays... everything is amazing and smells sooo good! Also, your videos are very calming. And you should sell those dresses! I'm an adult and I would totally wear them in the summer! I super love summer dresses! 💜

I wish I could make dresses like that I'm horrible at sewing and using a sewing machine. Love the dress patterns. I really need to try to make my daughter some dressed age is almost 4 ft 9 inch tall at 10 and I find it hard to find dresses that fit her right they either are too big or too short

From the outer shoulder seam to the hem is approximately 26 inches. That was a XL men’s shirt. If you need it longer, go up in t shirt size and that’ll give you more length.

As for details like the flower, and your sleeves/waist, you’re so creative!! You should do a video of different add ons to dress you can do to change up the look!
Yes, it was a gift from my parents on my 18th bday. I've sewn miles on it! :) The XL shirt fits my daughter and she is typically in a size 2T. If you need them for a older girl, use a larger shirt and that will give you more length. I am about at the place where I need to get a XXL for my daughter, because she is getting so tall.
Absolutely love these dresses! I have made lots of skirts and can't wait to try to make a dress for my little one. She is small for her age (25lbs and 2ft 10in) and its hard to find dresses and skirts to fit her. A 2T for the most part fits her, but I generally buy larger to get length. Is there a way to adjust the sleeve pattern to create a long sleeve?
You could definitely open up the bottom hem on the shirt sleeve. That would give you a bit more length. And then also lay your pattern as far up as you can on the shirt sleeve. I don't know if that makes sense... You could also go up a size or two on your shirt and that would give you a longer sleeve length to work with.
@@PositivelyAmy Thank you so very much for replying!!! Right now Walmart has long sleeve tshirts for 4.94. They are super soft!!! Going to try those. Have made several dresses for my daughter and granddaughter using their tshirs and fabric or the leg of oversized sweatpants. All have turned out super cute! Thank you again for the inspiration 😊

I love your sewing ideas! Are you going to make a dress like the pattern is supposed to be, with a ruffled skirt? I think that will look so cute too! You could cut the skirt part from the bottom of the shirt, so you wouldn't have to hem... Oh, and are those floor length dresses not impractical for toddlers while playing and climbing? Just curious!
That would be a good idea to try out. As for the length, the dresses that I made will mostly be worn for going away and such like and then as she keeps growing, by the time they are getting shorter on her, I will wear the shorter ones at home and she hasn't ever really had a problem with playing, etc. But when she was younger, I would wear pants and shirt on her for that reason. I grew up with mennonites I miss when things were simple. Miss the cooking the most. My parents church had a missionary base for mennonites they would come from around North America. I just remember one day they were gone (funding issues I believe) big part of my childhood
Do you need to wash the shirts before you work with them?
I don’t usually wash them before, but you could to soften them up a little.
