Having the S3 stuff before the final battle soundtrack really makes me think about what we could've gotten if they knew Ninjago was going to continue and decided, instead of having the overlord die twice in two seasons in a row, to prolong the final battle by another season. The season two finale would end with Garmadon somehow being saved and becoming a sensei, leading to his and Lloyd's scenes from the season 3 we have instead being used in the new season 3 as pre-full golden master training. Instead of unlocking the power randomly through just.. concentrating, I guess, and somehow knowing he could summon a dragon and 'killing' the overlord, this time he (and we in the audience) would learn about what it actually means to become the ultimate spinjitzu master before he gets there. He'd learn how you're supposed to use some of the powers it comes with, and he'd tap into them briefly (such as the scenes of him moving mountains or summoning the dragon only long enough to make a bridge). Then, when he transforms from green to gold against the overlord, it really feels earned and both we and him actually have an understanding of what it is he's unlocked in firmer detail than "The ultimate power from the first spintjizu master". Then they could have also saved a Zane sacrifice scene for later, which, while somewhat regrettable, would also make him dying so much a little less pronounced since his most notable death didn't happen. They could keep the rest of the show on track starting with season four by having Zane make a sacrificial move that ends in him being kidnapped or teleported away instead of killed, or they could start season four and explain that after Lloyd killed the overlord, Zane disappeared for unknown reasons. Then, cue the invitation to the tournament.
So basically it would kind of give Lloyd the AtLA treatment? If so, then heck yes that would be amazing! I think having the final battle be one season later would've been great and it would've made sense too because we needed more of the second half of season 2 (with the Stone Army). I think that Season 2 should have been Garmadon learning to use the Mega Weapon the whole season, and by the end he creates something unstoppable that completely forces the ninja to destroy the Mega Weapon (maybe different than the time travel though). In that scenario since they wouldn't have the Golden Weapons, Lloyd ends up being the only one to destroy the Mega Weapon since he's the Green Ninja. And maybe the reaction between his powers and the power of the Mega weapon purifies Garmadon by the end of season 2, and then the season would end with the Stone Army being awakened by the Devourer's venom as a consequence of that battle. I never really understood why the Stone Army wouldn't be awakened sooner than it was since the Devourer's venom had been around for some time after episode 13. Then cue the Stone Army season except with the Ninja getting to know their powers more and Lloyd training as the Golden Ninja for the final battle with Garmadon at his side. And of course the Overlord would need a new host, but maybe they could handle that differently where he gets his own body once the Stone Army creates evil in Ninjago.
I need lloyd to become the golden ninja again like bro he so powerful. I don’t even mind if he then gets taken out of the show and just sometimes pop ups. He just deserves it🤷♀️

It would have been so fucking cool to see Lloyd somehow bring back Garmadon from The Cursed Realm in the finale of Possession. Maybe even have Garmadon join the team as the purple ninja, as you could even see Oni form earlier, like in Skybound during the lighthouse fight, this time with Jay, Nya, AND Garmadon, fighting Nadakhan and his sky pirates. I could easily see Garmadon enter his oni form in a rage against Nadakhan after finding out his own son, wife, and brother are trapped in the djinn blade.
Jay Vincent deserves a music award. He always went above and beyond and with his music he knew not to just do a generic kids show soundtrack.
