Moar RUSH! lol If you want to get right to the greatness. 2112 ruclips.net/video/w5jwxrTqoEA/видео.html This link has a storybook with the lyrics to make it a bit easier to follow along.. You have opened a can of worms with RUSH... but a good can, lol. They have some of the most epic rock songs ever made. In their early period, they had several 15-25min opera like tracks. In their mid career they drifted more towards a lighter sound but it was always very technical. The song you just reacted to YYZ was kind of in-between the switch. 2112 is one of their early "operas". If you want to check out another instrumental like YYZ, look up La Villa Strangiato. Which is a masterpiece.
the tightest 3 piece ever and some of the most proficient players on their respective instruments, took what a 3 piece could do live to the limit, will never be another Rush, long live Rush!
you have started on your Rush journey. This train has no breaks. You will subjected to mind altering guitar solos, time signatures, wonderfully crafted lyrics and epics songs from a band with a catalog that spans four decades all from three of the most talented virtuosos in their respective craft. Welcome to Rush my dude.
Rush is the greatest band of all time! 40 years, 20 studio albums, 40 millions records sold. Try “Spirit of Radio” or “Tom Sawyer” for your next reaction. Soon you will discover that there has never been a band like this and there probably never will be. ✌️☝️☝️✌️
You have really only scratched the surface of Rush. You will lose yourself going down the rabbit hole of Rush. The lyrics written by the drummer, yes the drummer, Neil Peart (pronounced Peert) sung by the bassist Geddy (and he plays key boards as well) are Iconic. They will touch you and mean many things to you. 40 years of music and hearing changes of in styles is amazing. what you hear on album is always what you hear (with a few tweaks) in concert. They strove for this. 3 men, sounding like 5 or more. enjoy the ride. keep it up.
Oh man! You just jumped into a different dimension, my friend. Tom Sawyer, Limelight, Xanadu (from Exit Stage Left), Subdivisions, The Spirit of Radio... the catalog speaks for itself. R.I.P. to Neil Peart (rhymes with ear) the greatest rock drummer ever!
Not bad for three guys out of Toronto Ont. Canada, eh? By the way, the piece is called "Why Why Zed" because that's the actual pronunciation of that letter, it comes from the Greek, from where our alphabet is derived, and it goes Alpha Beta Gamma Delta Epsilon Zeda ... et c., in fact every country in the world calls that letter Zed except one, can you guess which one?
Rush had a 40 year career with a very extensive catalog, so you are going to get a million requests, have fun! 🙂🎶 They were the best band ever, but sadly are done. (R.I.P. professor) But do not fear their torch has been picked up by a band from Japan called Band Maid!!! Best band on the planet today. I seriously suggest you check out a live performance from them. 🎶🎶🎶🙂🎶🎶🎶
Neil passed away in January. One of the best groups ever. Listen to La Villa Strangiato. Either the album addition or the live. They don't disappoint...
YYZ is the code for Pearson International, the airport for Toronto. So it was their "coming home" song. Check out the studio version of Working Man, an early sound from them, a hard rocking gem.
At the beginning, they were playing the morse code for the letters YYZ. Those were the three call letters for their home airport for when the band was flying home. All airports have three letter codes. You can see them any time you get an airline ticket.
YYZed first started and was intended to be a jam session between Neil and Geddy. Alex was away at the time. When Alex returned, he kindly asked if he could put some guitar on top of what they had recorded. They agreed and allowed us to have a glimpse inside a very structured and disciplined but gracious rock band, letting loose in a total improv situation:-)
Rush = Geddy Lee - Bass / vocals , Neil Pearl - Drummer, Alex Lifeson - Lead guitar - TREES, YYZ, LIMELIGHT, TOM SAWYER, SPIRIT OF THE RADIO, XANADU, They have a lot of awesome songs, some are instrumental and they jam, they are a great band that was around a long time, 40 YEARS, one of a kind band from Canada
Seen them in concert 5x. Never disappointed! Love them! Check out Neil's drum set! RIP to the legend. He took a part of my heart with him. Check out LOSING IT by them! My all time favorite
Singing an instrumental with the band.....that’s profound.....enjoy the Rush rabbit hole you will go down at some point.....2112 next Intro- brace for impact. Enjoy this......saw it with my own eyes 5 times. They were unbelievably good!
To me, Rock music, Hip Hop and Rap ain't so different to each other. Both styles make you groove and nod your head. That's why I'm into both scenes. It's honest music. Not like that electronical music. Rock and Hip Hop is real music. Now Rush, is just Rush. And they were the best at what they were doing. Absolutely unique band
I’m glad you enjoyed it on a certain level. But what you’re missing is the level of musicianship that Rush brought to the stage! Neil Peart was technically one of the best drummers that ever walked the earth! They were also a power trio. But I don’t know any other band that could pull off what Rush could do. Getty Lee is also one of the best bass players to ever grace the stage. And he can play bass, bass pedals, keyboards, and sing all at one time. Alex Lifeson it’s just unlike any other guitar player that I can think of. He has his own style, sound and voice on the guitar. Although it wasn’t demonstrated in YYZ, Neil also wrote all their lyrics. To really understand Rush, you have to listen to their lyrics. Especially in the earlier work. Welcome to the rabbit hole! This goes really rrrreally deep!
I like showing people the era where Rush came into their own. Early on, they tried to emulate Led Zeppelin and Genesis, after that, The Police. By the mid-80's though, they had a sound that wasn't trying to emulate another band... it was their own. Their musicianship matured 100% from guitar-drive Rock, to a more complex sound and the lyrics grew to inspirational heights during this era. I love throwing people right into the deep end with this one, if you can appreciate this song, then you'll enjoy everything else Rush has to offer from this point, on - Check out "Mission" off of Hold Your Fire ruclips.net/video/mNn3zI2bCHw/видео.html
They used this song a a few tours. It was an earlier tour that they had a drum solo with this song. The most viewed drum solo now is live in Frankfurt which was on a tour after the one you were thinking of
PRETTY COOL

A crowd singing an instrumental, it don't get more epic than that.
Yes, more Rush reactions. You won’t hear a more talented rock trio.

The audience is actually singing the melody back to them..
Was gonna say, the only vocals you'll hear is the audience singing, pretty damned much in tune.
They are rocking to Geddy's bass, never seen anything like it.
@@silversliver1592 I was there, and we sang even the guitar solo. One of the greatest experiences in my life!
@@edklingon Heck of a concert eh, Cheers from the home of RUSH, TORONT0 ,CANADA
Yes! Please, more Rush. I challenge you to find a song in their catalogue that you won't like.

I would always recommend studio versions, but then you can't see what it takes to MAKE the music and that three guys are doing it.
To me, Rock music, Hip Hop and Rap ain't so different to each other. Both styles make you groove and nod your head. That's why I'm into both scenes. It's honest music. Not like that electronical music.

Listen to studio versions on the songs rather than the live versions, they sound way better.
Rush army
No. Here in Canada we say ZED for Z. So it would be said like YYZed.
PLEASE…PLEASE PLAY “EASY TO BE HARD” by THREE DOG NIGHT.
THANK YOU!
I enjoyed much more seeing people's reaction in the stadium than this guy reaction.
