- In case you didn't know, the C in Jimmy C. Newman stands for Cajun! The late great Jimmy is often credited for giving Dolly Parton her first Opry appearance-he gave up his second song to her back in 1959 when she was 13. God bless you, Jimmy C.

He was my uncle and very special to me. Really really miss him!
Born, raised and still live in Southwest Louisiana and the Cajun culture is like no other in America! Love it!
I truly enjoyed this group playing Jambalya. Reminds me of old times as a kid. I'm 76 now!
How in the world can a real live person listen to this kind of music and not live it.
That tall fiddle girl is gorgeous!!!
She can fiddle with me anytime...as long as the kids are asleep hahahaha 😂
Amen!!!!
Yes... absolutely
She is a beauty
That she is
Fantastic!
See what you started Hank? Now the whole world is singing that CLASSIC song.🗽👍💕
Hank will never be forgotten.
There will never be another Jimmy C...oh soo fine he was...what a distinctive voice! Love the Cajun Culture!!!
To me as an old east german...cajun is the only way to show your feelings...I don''t speak cajun....bu I love the music...
Eeeehweeeeeee
What a lot of fun, the Late Jimmy C Newman & Jimmy Caps, and his Wife & Friends great Country Music, Thank you for up loading such wonderful Country Music, Great Country, Regards Best Wishes Trevor.W.Bacelli. Biloela Central Qld Australia.
Melton Australia here in for a listen.
My brother-in-law, Woodry Smith, played with Jimmy lots of years ago. They had a fried chicken place in the Lake Charles area named Jimmy’s.
Back in the day I worked with a bunch of Cajuns on an off shore drilling rig. There was a saying that went around that you never whip a Cajun. If you do you have to whip his grandparents his uncles his cousins his brothers sisters etc.
Jimmy always stayed true to his heritage
I met Jimmy in the 80ties when playing in Holland. He took us to his dressing room when we, 4 country loving guys, asking him for a autograph. This is and was a true man. A really beautiful man. God bless him.
The Cajuns love people of all kinds. You meet them and you are immediately their old friend.
Wonderful! Lâche pas la patate Jimmy! Greetings from Quebec
I have always loved Jimmy C. Newman.
My parents brought me up on his music.
My foot keeps stomping when I hear this song 👋🦶🦵
It don't get any better than that period. Sooooo Goooood
Jimmy C is great and always has been. That's great dance music. He started the Aiieeee holler. At dances there was always some one hollering like him when a Cajun song was sung. Good times.
true kings ! what a great sound and song
That's about as good as that song can be done, wonderful
I'm remember our neighbor a old man who built guitars, he would see that lot in opelousas, just good times, love our music!
Almost as good as what we did with our Dad years ago. My dad built his own banjo, dobro, and violin/fiddle. And played his guitar since he was twelve. He is going to 93 next birthday in August.
When is his birthday 🎂 in August mine is the 8th of August I will be 62yrs
Excellent. Nice seeing the late Jimmy Capps.
😇🛖⚡
🐩🤞❤
I've always said no one can do a Hank song justice other than Hank. But this guy might be the one who proves me wrong.
I'd comment but I'm busy dancing round the room right now. Yee Haw
His song "Carry on" is one of the greatest ever written.
Great group, Pete, USA.
Excellently done. So much warmth. Thankin' y'all from Down Under.
Love the cajun sound
I have a feeling this was filmed not long before he passed away. He was one of the best and I miss him.
It’s sad to say, but you are right. All of our older Cajun musicians are passing away. But we have some great ones filling their shoes.
I lovr Jimly C Newman ...rip Monsieur chansons de la Louisiane et du souvenir Français
Hank Williams wrote the lyrics but the music is an old Cajun tune that Williams learned while touring with Cajun musicians...
The young girl before was incredible so wonderfull Yodle song

Have it on 45 RPM stereo in my 1961 Seaburg Artist Of The Week juke box. Of course it's by Hank himself. Never heard of Jimmy but he and the band are very good. Hank would probably want to add another fiddle but would approve of this rendition.
AWESOME!
A great job!
Beautifully done!
That's good music 🎵
That was fantastic
Great!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Remarkable interpretation
Just loved this! wonderful! love it.
He's got Jimmy Caps, AND Kenny Sears playing backup for him on t.v.!
Gives me chills up and down my spine
Can’t believe he died in 2014 this has to be old
Fiddlers are on fire!!...can't help but notice sideman guitarist is reading a score...
Beautiful.
See you in the Big Mamou
The man who recorded DJ for a Day. First time TTH heard one of his songs on the radio.
Olala, belle brune au violon.
Got the ol' Cajun version of "yee haw" going on!
Awsome
Nice....:)
Fats Domino does an amazing rendition of Jambalaya .. check it out!
Muito bom...!👏👏👏👏

NOLA God Blessing
And the day doesn’t seem so bad…
Just subscribed 👍🏻🇺🇸
A little foot tapping music while you teach Zander how to sing!!
Hank Williams was a genius
Classic 2 Chord Song... G & C Chords, that's it..
The polka king
I like his hat style , does anyone know what it is called
Go over and find Jolie Blon' sung by Jimmy, Doug Kershaw and Joel Sonnier.
The the rally song for the McNeese Cowboys in Lake Charles.
Everybody sings along. It’s wonderful.
Looks like the great Greg Foresman over by the window
Gosh dare you're getting me fired up
Oh my…
Is Kenny Sears on that fiddle? With the Time Jumpers.
That was excellent. When was this taped? And where is Larry's Country Diner?
This episode was part of the 5th season of Larry's Diner shot in the fall of 2011. There is no actual diner-just the sound stage we shoot on in Tennessee :). Thanks for watching!
"I'm bionic." Ya I bet you are.
Who is the lady singing with him
When I was growing up , hat's were removed when inside, guess it's different there.
Hats are permissible inside public buildings or if part of a uniform, costume or signature part of one's character or act on a stage, restaurant, etc.
Now if I entered your private home and I failed to remove my cap, hat, hood or other head gear, that would be rude and disrespectful.
You really only came here to say this?
Next time enjoy the music and leave an old Cajun man be.
Bayou does not rhyme with blue. Hank and Jimmy C sang it true.
He sings like hank Williams SR but was he Cajun or just sang that way???
Didn’t he sing a song about the devil watching me or something like that?
Frankly, (or should it be, Hankly), Hank did just fine without any help on this song.
Hank Williams wrote this song about a club in Beaumont Texas named YVONNE'S owned by a lady named Yvonne(Cajun)
A local D. J., Gordon Baxter, sat with him during the intermission.
Yvonne is long buried; the club was bought and remodeled into another Entertainment Venue.
However, many musicians started at Yvonne's.
JAMBALAYA is a lasting tribute.
He must never use a 🎤 normally.
I understood too many of the words he sang. A real cajun would have been really hard to understand!!!
He was a real cajun from Mamou Louisiana about 50 miles north of where I'm from in south La. I'm a real cajun too, we arent all hard to understand
@@davidb8397 I'm just poking at you guys!! My Daughter in law is an Hebert (A-Bear). I kinda like listening to the heavy Cajun slang/speech mixed in with a little french. Swamp people is one of my favorite shows, I mostly watch just to here the way they all talk especially Troy Landry.
That's ok. People usually love our cajun accent
Love Cajun and Zydeco music and fortunately we have musicians who play both styles here in the county of Kent here in the UK.
The band called Jumbo Gumbo are on some RUclips videos.
