    The printing on the green record label states that the mandolin player on this recording is Maria Calace. According to the label the accompaniment on the instrument called "laute" is played by Raffaele Calace. He composed both parts but there was no overdubbing in those days when this was recorded so he is not playing both parts. The mandolin playing is excellent but unless the record company got it wrong, it is not played by the composer himself. Please correct me if I am wrong.

      Yes in this recording Maria Calace plays mandolin and Raffaele plays the liuto cantabile
