They don't have my beloved Salamanders. So I too went Imperial Fists
About the gigantism bit, while the medical condition does alter the ears brow and jaw space marine geneseed was made by the emperor who is a genius in biogenetic engineering so he probably found a cure to that
@@fallouttoonlink fear nor brother there is still hope with the dark angels arrival we may soon get salamanders
I saw the screenshot and my first thought was "oh, those action figures come with bare heads now". When you started sculpting it, my jaw dropped.
_'I don't play with toys!'_
*stares nervously at my kinderegg statue garden*
It was a joke! Warhammer is toys lol
@@EricsHobbyWorkshop *closes binbag*
😢 Now you're telling me.
I call mine a straight toy garden. Furby in the back, amiboos n stuff.
Sculpting that face was incredible: I was pleased with myself for making some Ogryn back packs out of green stuff 😂😂
"I'm a grown man, I don't play with toys"
*stares nervously at my nightstand drawer*
This is incredible! I don't even play warhammer (i play dnd and i want to get into necromunda but haven't had time) and yet watching your videos has convinced me to get into miniature making!!! You're a big inspiration, and i hope the channel keeps getting all this well deserved attention
Necromunda is a solid concept.
I think adding some studs above his brow would have been a very cool touch. Great work as always
My brother suggested i do that and i forgot. I suppose i could add them later
As others have said, super impressive job, especially on the head sculpt. I especially like the sort of Mona-Lisa-smile you gave him. The mystery that adds just really makes this even better for me for some reason.
I had the same idea to use one of these figures as a statue but wasn't sure how to go about it so thank you!!! 😁
black carapace is implanted under space marine's skin, the part you mentioned in 4:52 is actually just artificial muscle suit that space marine wear to get stronger power and connect the body to the armor, also allowing the marines to fight in vacuum areas like, space.
Oh my bad. I think i knew that at some point
Nice work Eric! I've found that a quick and effective way to create stone texture on plastic is to spray with varnish and then dust with tile grout whilst it's still wet. It creates a fine grained texture that accepts paint well. It looks especially good for weathered stone. Congratulations by the way on your upcoming addition to the family and for going full time.
That face, that head...! Your sculpting skills are impressive. Great touch, putting the skulls and candles for scale; turns it into one honking mighty statue. Congrats!
wow dude, that head sculpting was fantastic. If I end up doing this I would have to get a head 3D printed or something.
In my humble opinion, your best piece of work yet. Bravo. Stunned by your sculpting from scratch.
As a recent new dad, you got this.
Very impressive build, really looking forward to the beauty shots of the finished fortress!
Congrats on going full time, excited to see how your channel will evolve as a result. For what it’s worth I think you did a great job with the sponsored segment, some creators struggle to make it a natural part of the video.
no way with the effort in each video I was convinced you did this full time, really impressive
I don't always sculpt heads from scratch, but when I do I bust it completely out of left field and absolutely kill it.
Incredible build, well done! Can't wait to see the full table once it's ready!
Looks stellar! You absolutely nailed the statue look. Great notes on uneven weathering!
I also recommend colouring it to make it seem like it’s a massive mech.
Weathering*
That was a lot of work . The head turned out great. Should look great on your table. Going to be a dad. You will be a fun dad. All the best.
the memorial plate was just awesome!!!!!!!! it really sold the whole project. good job!
Great job on this build Eric, really impressive
This Blood Angel's face looks like the perfec Squidvard's one.
I love the shrine at the foot, especially the candles! Really sells the scale too!
The use of acromegaly was a great touch
Also he makes me think of the great khali
love your work, if you use electrical wiring for candles you get a little wick from the copper core, I just hit them with a lighter to melt the plastic and expose the copper core. best thing is its free.
“I don’t play with toys, I build models”
Me: *frantically hides my gunpla*
That statue looks like he's saying "i want YOU to join the Guardsman"
Be me, stares at my soon to be collection: I know what I must do, but I fear I lack the strength to do it.
Thats huge! Looks really awesome!
Im planning something similar, but with a Sigmarine. It scales like a giant statue to normal 28mm human sculpts. But that not into GW easthetics, that I had force myself buying one...
You skills are unreal, and I love your super laid back energy/presenting style,
First, grats on the baby! Second, this is absolutely godly, thank you so much for this gem and inspiration that came with it.
I love this!
I kinda wanna do this to my Space Wolf dude. The only thing I would've done different from you, is that I would give the model a rinse and scrub in warm water with Dawn Dish Soap, as the joints on those Action figures are coated in grease or something.
Wow you knocked that sculpting out the park!!!!
I gotta start practicing sculpting some heads.
Eric(!)...your sculpting skills have definitely reached a new level with this guy's face!
Overall, the project is truly professional-grade.
Cheers!
Wow, I had no idea you were a master sculpter. That face is incredibe!
Absolutely blown away by your sculpting ability! Great work, man!
Congratulations on your first child being on the way. I'm a father of three myself. Fatherhood is going to bring you so much joy!
Pretty sweet bold Eric. Bravo on sculpting that head, turned out great. 🤘
I see what you did there, Mr. 451. Well played, Sir. Well played.
Congrats Eric, both for the growing child, your sculptor talents and your commitment to the hobby !
Man, I’ve never had someone talk to me about why they’re taking a sponsorship before. This is the first sponsored ad I’ve watched in a long time LMAO
Congratulations to your wife and your good self. And that statue is remarkable, the head sculpt is excellent!
Fantastic build! I really like how it came together and looks realistically like a statue, and your sculpting is getting better and better all the time! I also busted out laughing when you put Handsome Squidward up on screen because I swear I thought the same thing when I saw the Patreon teaser picture!
Brilliant model. Great content as always Eric.
From first hand experience Lost crusade is a fun game that is not pay to play.
A primaris already getting a statue in dedication to them.
I would have preferred the statue being modified so it becomes an older mark of power armour to represent a long dead hero of the blood angels
1:09
It was at this moment that he knew...
He f*cked up.
What an excellent idea. I really love that weathered statue look!
Having that Indomitus box upside-down is really asking for it! ;)
Cool idea and impressive sculpting; that can be real difficult for me.
Really nice sculpting work on the head!
finally, someone painting a bronze staty without bronze paint, looks great
'Erics partner 'Put your toys away and come in for diner babe ''
Eric '' Damn....''
Great build! That was an amazing head sculpt.
So... You went from Abe to Thanos to handsome Squidward... And finally its something that I can't unsee to be the Keanu Reeves Marine xD
Whoa! Sounds breathtaking! I’ll take it
The sculpting work on the face is very impressive. Your sculpting techniques get better and better every time you do them! I agree with your sentiment on how a lot of people including GW paint verdigris. Though, honestly, I think maybe next time adding a little green to the black wash or upping the saturation on the mint color just a tad would sell the verdigris look a bit more. I think the black wash kind of dulled the green color down a bit too much. Fantastic work, as always, though!
This is by far one of my favorite of your projects- what an awesome piece!
Great timing, I'm working on some gungan statyes for legion using old phantom memace capt. Tarpals and jar-jar figures
Add some scaffolding and it could work as a necromunda terrain
the gesture of the Figurine looks like the _Techno Viking!_
Wow! Decent job on the sculpting. This is a really cool idea I may try it myself. Congrats on the incoming baby too.
1:08 you almost turned your blood angel into a red scorpion!
That made a really nice terrain piece.
Eric you can sculpt in 3d with vr and then 3d print the results as well.
This continued to be the only terrain tutorial that made realistic verdigrus
I was watching this video in hospital last friday, when my son finally decided to came!! 😃👶 thanks, love your channel 😉
Great build and great sculpting!
yeah a big boy needs his toys
Love it, the face ended up looking like Rocky Balboa lmao
I know it's 7 months late but this inspired me to make an Ashara/elf goddess statue from a barbie or some other kind of doll. Plan on shaving the hair to resculpt with greenstuff, ditto the clothing and probably hacking the legs to use a pink foam base for the bottom of the "dress" and and stability
Thanks so much
It would be interesting to me to watch people play a full game of 49k using armies made of these figures
That is a pretty slick build Eric.
cooool!!!! that face and base are amazing.
Great job with the sculpt of the head and Congratulations on the baby news
Brother this brings honor to the Blood Angels! Sanguinius himself would commend you!
You know, Jazza made a similar thing with a Mcfarlane toy, maybe you should approach his other channel, Tabletop Time, to make a collab, that would be awesome!!!
really cool build and way to flex the sculpting skills!
It's got more of a weathered marble look.... But honestly I like it! I think the muted pallette really works as "terrain" and you said it best, it doesn't take away from the models which should be the stars of the stage!
Nice handsome Squidward space marine statue
Great sculpting of the face.
space marine faces depend on the gene seed. uncorrupted emperors children and blood angels, and grey knights would be exquisitely attractive. ultras, dark angels, and imperial fists would look somewhere around average. world eaters, space wolves, possibly iron hands would look beastly or giant-like.
PLEASE USE THIS IN LIKE A CASTLE BUILD
Ha squidwards is surly a great champion of the blood angels xD. Nicely done
At 10:45 that is totally Stallone . . .. Looks awesome, but I would have given the plaque a more brownish look (they tend to be made of more bronze, so oxidize a lot slower)
"Too much strands would make the hair look greasy and messy" Yeah, I guess those are a different kind of Ravens..
Super frickin cool idea man!! Turning a useless POS toy into useable terrain! Actually, its kinda genius, the statue idea anyway. Thanks! I think Id probably have to do a helmeted marine though because that sculpting was amazing! I dont see me being able to handle somethin like that.
Thats nice sculpting work Eric. Im impressed!
For some reason I saw the thumbnail as a gun being pointed to the head of the statue lol, great work nevertheless
Me '' I can sculpt greenstuff ''
Real life ..Ends up with Action Man head stuck on ''
Eagle eyes still work...result !
Sick! Fantastic job. If I can find one cheap enough, defo gonna give this a go eventually!
Congrats on the youngling, had my first last year and it’s been a blast!
"When is showing favouritism from one legion to another ever led to anything bad?"
When the person mostly play as Necrons....
Damn, that looks sweet. I've been tossing around the idea of having some space marine statues to place amongst the gothic ruins we use for Killteam and our grimdark Stargrave games... the 40k equivalent of the large stone statues of ancient Greece or Rome that portrayed gods, monsters, and heroes. Wasn't sure how to go about doing it. Now I am. This is a great idea. Time to go to Walmart.....
You could plaster this thing with purity seals!
Wow! Great idea and beautiful result!
That is a really great idea - well thought out and created. Cheers Eric for sharing.
Looks great, not a space marine fan but you turned something ugly into something great. The head sculpt was awesome!
Wow, you are a real artist mate, nice job👍👍👍
Thanks Jorgen! I still have a lot to improve but its fun to challenge myself
@@EricsHobbyWorkshop improve, I think you are pretty awesome at what you do..
I love the realistic take on the head!
it would have been cool as hell to see you make him into Dante
