    This is amazing. The programming for this must have been a nightmare.

    you know what would be sick? Loading 3D obj files to the cube, and you could look at them on the cube!

    shiftPWM library is fun, as are shift registers in general. You should look in to them :)

    What type of RGB LED do u use? How are they called? Where can I buy?

  • @MAAnderson22
    @MAAnderson22 12 лет назад

    He would probably have an LED controller. The Mega does indeed have 54 pins, but you can fire off some in parallel, as well as passing information in bits over time (bytes).

    Now someone needs to develop a 3d bullet hell game built with a huge cube like this. That would be amazing.

    This is amazing but must be a nightmare to program 😁 any chance you'd give one away to an up and coming programmer?

    They can, it just takes an insanely long time. (hundreds of thousands of hours in a good circuit)

    Perhaps burning out isn't the correct term, which is what's causing confusion, as oxygen is required for combustion. Maybe the photoelectric junction getting worn would be a better representation, would need to pull a book to verify though.

    Someone needs to program a game for one of these cubes. Super man flying past buildings or something.

    Do you sell these cubes and already programmed? I am interested in a cube or RGB LED wall.

    You should make animations like faces or hand gestures..

  • @PillowRageTV

    actually they can ,but it takes a long time unless you supply to much voltage (then it could take just a second >.< )

  • @Blu0tuth0ninja
    @Blu0tuth0ninja 12 лет назад

    ok, now you need to make a really big one, maybe about 32 x32 and make the it more dense, then start running 3d models through it.

  • @FPEvideos
    @FPEvideos 12 лет назад

    Wow, you would need 784 digital pins to control an RGB LED matrix of this scale.
    16x16 =256 pins to control a single level
    x3=768 pins for RGB LEDs instead of solid ones.
    +16=784 to control the ground for each level.
    I highly doubt that this is controlled with a single off the self Arduino. The Mega only has 54 pins. I'd bet it’s a custom configuration controlled by a network of ATmega2560 (ArduinoMega) chips. Either that or he somehow got a single behemoth of a micro chip with 800+ pins.

    • @delmarwilliams9085
      @delmarwilliams9085 Год назад

      you only need 16+16+16 control pins, or you might be about to get away with multiplexing the displays, use 4 to 16 multiplexers, that way you would only need 12 pins, for rbg, you would only need 36 output pins.

  • @NicolaiSyvertsen
    @NicolaiSyvertsen 12 лет назад

    @Blu0tuth0ninja can't be too dense or the leds will obstruct each other and you can't see the center of it.

    Can you stack a bunch of those cubes together and program them to function as one, so that the animations are a giant composite?

    • @RiyadhMarthinus

      yes Im sure this would be possible but the amount of current and processing power you would need could be a major task.
