thanks for your videos, i made myself laugh yesterday, after watching you drill your holes for something on your model build , i blew at my phone screen , im really living your build as you go along,
Since you are using a gas engine you can locate the fuel tank on the CG. You don't have the limitation you do with nitro where with nitro you need to locate the fuel tank close to the engine. Then you have full access to the tank when the wing is off. No need for a hatch. You'd have to rearrange the servos and such in the area under the wing (ie. where the CG is). You use green grid engineering paper. I love that stuff.
Thanks, I understand, but one issue is I cant see it when fueling up still? I guess try to see the fuel in the lines in the engine compartment when filling? But I get what you are saying. And, yep, got some good engineering and graph paper laying around from the analog days!
Looks great but personally on the hatch for viewing the fuel tank I wouldn't use a t-nut having to unscrew that every time you fill up would get on my nerves I would have put a sliding hatch pin on that one 👍
Yep, good option. I use Magnets at times as well. The reason I didn’t here, is because each hatch is flush, or an insert, and I felt it would be hard to pry them open, those mags are strong. I did use mags on the canopy because I can pull it off.
Well, might not be worth it, but have always thought if we could somehow sharpen our # 11 X-Acto blades instead of throwing them out and grabbing a new one...???...Same thing with high speed drill bits...???

I do sharpen them at times. I have a fine sharpening stone or just wet and dry sand paper, its easy to do but can’t get it like new. Mostly I discard them.

Yes, that is a good option. I have used them on other hatches. The only issue that you can run into is that since these two hatches set inside and are flush with the fuselage, unless I put some type of tab or something to grip the hatch, it can be difficult to pry the hatch open since the magnets can be really strong. so here I chose the screw option. But magnets are great also. Thanks

Haha! Thanks, I appreciate it.

Thanks! I agree, unscrewing it takes a little, also have to make sure not to loose it!
Magnets would work well too
Me encanta tu trabajo, es una maravilla verte hacer aviones. Un saludo
Thank you!
Since you would be getting into these compartments quite regularly I believe using small alnico magnets might be better instead of screws. Maybe?

Nice work👍🏻
Thanks!
ottimo video, ben fatto , come il lavoro eseguito alla precisione di un disegnatore professionista , grande grazie e auguri di Pasqua
Thanks Marco, Happy Easter!
Would you build the EAA biplane next please :)
I have the Balsa USA Nieuport 17 on the shelf that is on my short list. The EAA looks nice also.
Great video however for the fuel tank viewing maybe it could have been clear old x-ray film
Thanks, like a window. I’m surprised the RC hobby companies never came up with a small viewing window that could be installed.

My thoughts are blades are so cheap for hundreds of them its not worth the hassle of sharpening them. Drill bits are a different issue.

I use rare earth magnets instead of a t nut and bolt. This way, you don't need any tool to open of close your hatch

Why not just cut a small oval out big enough to get a screwdriver onto the mixture screws instead of a big ass hatch that you dont need?
Sure.
