The thing is, I've been in a car when someone was drunk driving, not only that, but they got their license recently as well. I was legit crying because not only did they almost hit like 5 people, they bumped a fence and scratched a car. Then the other time another friend was drunk, they had their license for a while and are pretty safe when they drunk drive, but they made a mistake of tampering with the radio and not looking at the road so they hit something, and of course turned the wheel around and we went over a very high curb, and through a wire fence. My friend immidiately said 'okay, get the FUCK out, we're walking home', so that sobered up the person drunk driving, and they went home while me and my friend walked home, which took about an hour and a half of walking in pitch black. Fun night

I just want to say thank you for making this video. My husband recently told me he wants a divorce and I went to the bar and had a very strong drink (I'm like Zach, super cheap drunk). I kept telling myself I was fine to drive after half an hour, but then I thought about this video and how much my actions could affect me or someone else. I got an Uber and picked up my car in the morning feeling really good that I didn’t push my limit or do something stupid. Thank you Try Guys!
I love how everyone was trying very delicately to squeeze through the boxes and then we cut to Ned just YOLO smashing through like he's in a Bourne movie.
I am very pleased that they are planning a video on driving while tired. I think this is way overlooked. I have never driven after drinking. A good friend almost died after being hit by a drunk driver. But I did inadvertently get on the road not realizing just how tired I was on the way home from an event. It was terrifying. I was not in an area where there were hotels that I could get some sleep. I was alone and did not feel safe just pulling over on the side of the road. I drove home with the windows down (it was cold) and stopped at every place that had caffeinated drinks to try to stay alert. I made it home safely but it was the wrong choice. If I was ever in that situation again, I would pull over at a rest stop, call the police and ask for help.
I think it's worse because driving tired is so much more socially acceptable than driving drunk or driving high. Early morning meeting/class? Late night at a friend's house.... even sober? You're good to go right? But it's also terrible.
shywolf4 I agree. The first accident I had (it was minor but still scary) was the result of fatigue. I floored the accelerator instead of the brake. I’m lucky it was in a small road instead of a highway.
A role model and friend of mine fell asleep at the wheel and sadly did not make it. He worked a lot and was simply driving home. It’s so dangerous and really needs to be talked about more.
There's a RUclipsr named Erin Noelle whose boyfriend died falling asleep at the wheel. I have a class that ends at 10:00pm and I have to make the drive home and it just sucks. Driving while drunk and driving while high are criticized and seen as bad things, but no one ever talks about driving while tired and no one really does anything to help students and employees avoid driving while tired. I remember some time ago an actor from a teen show (Riverdale, I think it was) fell asleep at the wheel after hours of being on set. It's awful really
Eugene had a moment when he hit the dog, especially since he loves dogs more than most people. I think that really made him see that even though he thought he was "doing really well" he could have killed something he loves. Thanks for trying to help keep the road sober.
My junior year an absolutely beloved teacher at my high school was murdered by a driver who was under the influence of many things. I remember the day we came back to school on Monday and everyone was silent during passing periods. There were emergency support counselors set up to talk to the students who were close to him, all of the faculty who were close to him were in tears that day. I knew his daughter she was in the music department with me, and my senior year his son joined band. That accident killed their dad on impact and the children were airlifted to ICU but the worst part was their mother was driving behind them in their second car and had to watch this happen to her loving family. Our school wasn't the same after that. The soccer teams he coached didn't play the same, the lunches with his closest friends didn't have the same laughter, our school still mourns his loss every year, but we also celebrate his life with a carnival and a scholarship. Incredible people lose their lives to the stupidity of others every day. It was way too soon for Mr. Silva and everyone else who has lost their lives to distracted or influenced drivers. Please everyone be safe out on the road, you never know how much pain you could cause others with your actions.
I'm really sorry for your loss. May your teacher rest in peace. Many people should spread the impact of DUI's. It's tragic and horrible. I'm glad that The Try Guys created a video to show what will happen in DUI's. Hopefully it'll raise more awareness.
Drunk driving is inexcusable. My cousin's step dad paralyzed another driver and went to jail for awhile. He constantly drove drunk, too. It's heartbreaking and infuriating
I genuinely appreciate videos like this. Thank you for using your platform to educate people on the dangers of driving impaired and/or distracted. Y’all are truly the best
IKR LOLJUDITH] My life started when I went for jog And spotted you in the park Sitting with a dog So I stoped and asked, "can I pet your dog?" (spoken) And so there we were, me and this golden retriever, basking in the abundance of sun Austin provides. And suddenly you blurted out (sung) "This isn't my dog, actually It's my friend's dog, Sheila I'm taking care of her while he's away She's on a lot of medication" And I laughed, and you laughed Saying you didn't wanna be found out when you asked me to coffee That there was no dog I said yes and you said, "I'm Jase. What's your name?" And I heard the perfect opportunity To be someone else entirely Free from my history For one single cup of coffee I would be Natalie (spoken) Obviously that's not how it went down. One cup of coffee turned into two bottles of wine, three desserts and staying up talking until four in the morning. Too late to backpedal. Too good not to keep going (sung) It felt like my life, but a better version With you in my life, I was a better person I heard music in the words you were saying Melodies with no band playing For the first time I was in love And I loved who I was with you All the mundane shit I used to hate Like recycling plastic and flossing every day Making breakfast, paying bills Watering the plants on our window sill Was invigorated with your sense of wonder Pillow talk, afternoon walks Holding hands in the parking lot of Home Depot Dealing with inevitable misfortunes that were barely manageable Like that time we accidentally hit a squirrel with your car That was an unfortunate anecdote Do you know what I mean? It felt like my life, but a better version With you in my life, I was a better person I heard music in the words you were saying Melodies with no band playing For the first time I was in love And I loved who I was with you My parents finally tracked me down After years of jumping from town to town They found you and me Men in suits at our front door Asking you about Judith Ford And I knew, instantly They say before you die Your whole life flashes before your very eyes Well, it didn't the first time But this time I heard each and every lie I'd ever told you I tried to cling to the life I'd made together with you So I did the only thing I knew how to I denied who I was, because I wanted to keep my life But the better version Natalie, your wife She was a better person I memorized your voice And how you say goodbye But you never said goodbye You never said goodbye And I held on to our life And who I was with you Who I was with you Who I was with you

No, its so, so common in LA no one really even cares at this point. And all he admitted to was that he was "distracted" (I just saw him looking down as he wasn't stopping in my rearview and then he said that, so I can't imagine it being anything else). Thankfully his insurance ended up having to admit 100% fault though, because he did admit to being distracted, so all my repairs and doctors visits are covered and loss of work.
In reality drunk driving is even harder than this because it is in broad daylight, most drunk driving occurs at night, when your vision is impaired. After a wild drunken night-out the darkness around you mixed with your impaired reflexes and the fact that the darkness makes it easier for you to get sleepy/besides the obvious exhaustion from your drunken endeavors- , are a deadly combination, drunk driving is no joke folks.
Christopher Williams My dad and his friends witnessed a person die before their own eyes after a drunk driver hit the poor lad. He literally sat there with the guy, calling 911, having the 911 tell him he’s passed county lines, so he did all he could to try and save the guy before he died under my father’s hands. Drunk driving really isn’t a joke.
ned: "Zach drives while reading texts on his phone- stresses me out Eugene drives with loud music- stresses me out Keith drives really safe- stresses me out, I drive JUST RIGHT!" Also Ned: proceeds to break multiple rules while driving drunk.
Take a shot every time Keith says "my car" in this series And then don't drive Edit: I went back through series and Keith says "my/the/a car" a total of 24 times, including twice when he said "apple" instead of "car" while sleep deprived.
This makes me even more appreciative of my parents, who raised me with zero tolerance towards drunk driving. You drank something, even earlier in the evening? You're not driving. It was just half a glass of beer? Doesn't matter, you're not driving. If you go somewhere and you know you're going to drink, find a designated driver you can rely on not to drink. Don't let people coerce you into drinking "just one drink". That drink may cost you or others their lives and I for one don't think that I could live with myself if I ever killed anyone while under the influence.
The scariest comment was Eugene saying he drives at that level of intoxication and barely felt tipsy then hit the dog and didnt even know. Jeez all of it is terrifying I hope this helps anyone out there not make the decision to drink and drive even if you think you are just tipsy.
The alcohol affected his judgment cause clearly he thought he was just tipsy after getting drunk when in reality, his driving shows he was really drunk
This video has Definitely made me rethink my past decisions, and I've never gotten drunk to their before. But its really making me take the "buzzed driving" phrase more serious. This video has made me laugh and triggered my anxiety at the same time.
Thanks for doing this video guys. It's so important that people understand how dangerous driving drunk is. In 2016 a close friend of mine was hit by a drunk driver as she pulled into work at 9am. Miraculously, she survived but she suffered a traumatic brain injury and is now completely dependent on her parents to care for her. Driving drunk destroys lives.
A really really good friend of mine, Hannah, died in a drunk driving accident. She was driving to work, and this woman, who was extremely drunk, ran a red light and t-boned Hannah, after already hitting 5 other people. Hannah was in a coma for about two weeks, with no progress, before she passed. She was 21, she was so bright and full of life and nothing but nice to everyone and everything, and she absolutely, 100 percent, never deserved that. She never did anything to deserve being hit by a drunk driver. A life was lost, and that woman was charged with second degree murder, aggravated DUI, aggravated assault with a dangerous instrument, aggravated assault with serious physical injury, felony criminal damage, possession of narcotic drugs and 10 counts of felony endangerment. Do not drink and drive. Do not drive under any influence. Do not put your own life, and many others, in danger. Do not. Please.
@@THESMOSHTIME thank you. Driving while drunk, or under ANY influence is NOT worth the risks. Not worth the emotional damage. It is NOT FUCKING WORTH IT.
Thank you for sharing Hannah's story, it definitely puts things into perspective. I'm sorry for your loss and I hope you don't have to go through anything like that again.
My uncle passed away because he got hit by someone who drove under influence. He broke all his bones and died immidiantly.. please do not drink and drive people...
That's the comment I was looking for! Because I absolutely feel the same way as Eugene and I didn't know it was a thing?! People reversing look really hot 😳
It’s so sad going through the comments and seeing so many people’s lives affected by drunk drivers. Prayers to everyone who has lost someone to this stupid decision. Thank you Try Guys for spreading the message of driving sober.
My mom was a singer during her time, several albums and met my dad at a concert. She also had a Job offer in NYC. during a Tour, snowy day, She was hit by a drunk driver. she had to re-learn a lot of things, how to walk and her voice box and vocal chords crushed. then I'm her eldest, I never got to hear her original voice only through tapes. :( I wish people understand how it is, when you drive drunk.
One of my best friend's dad was hit by a drunk driver when she was 5. He was internally decapitated. He became a paraplegic and couldn't speak. He's been in a wheelchair ever since, not speaking, not moving, just moving his eyes sometimes, and that was 18 years ago. She's just happy he got to see her get married, some people aren't so lucky
This was such a good video. Not only was it educational for their younger fans who are reaching the age where they are starting to drive and starting to drink, but it was so hilarious! Impaired driving is a very big problem in today's society and the Try Guys are bringing attention to it! I love these kinds of videos because they're fun to watch and informational.
Re-watcing this video, and I realize that at 16:15 Keith and Eugene talk about how they knew people that passed from drunk driving. It's probably not affecting you guys as much as a few years ago, but I am so sorry for your loss. Let this be a lesson to everyone; it doesn't matter who you are, how famous you are, anything- anyone can be the victim or know the victim. We are all at risk just as much as the next person, take precautions and don't use the 'just one drink' excuse. You can buy a life for a drink, but there isn't a return policy on that.
Two years ago, I was in a car accident because someone else was distracted while driving. I’m 24 years old and disabled now because of it. There’s days that I can’t even get out of my bed because I’m in so much pain. Thank you so much for making this series. It was REALLY hard for me to watch you guys be reckless, but I appreciate what you’re teaching people.
Damm i can relate to you. I have a friend who experienced a car accident and became disabled. She says shes struggles alot and has similar problems to you. But don't worry you still have a life to live, make the most out of your days. Lots of hugs and remember Dream for a tomorrow and live for today.
Honestly, thanks guys. It’s been really hard for me to watch this series just because I’m still freaking stuck in bed and hurting more than half the time. But I am so incredibly grateful that they’re trying.
SO much respect for these guys, not only for making this series, but for being totally honest about having made some mistakes in the past. Yes, driving drunk it a shitty thing to do, but this proves that it all comes down to a choice. I think their honesty makes this even more powerful! Also Eugene's revelation gave me chills, and I think this will make people reflect. If he can change his drinking habits, anyone can (and I say that with utmost respect).
A family member was hit by a drunk driver. Two of the passengers (close friends of hers) died in the accent. She was critical for days, but was so, so lucky to survive with her life. Despite that she has suffered facial and body scarring and damage to her frontal lobe. She will deal with this for the rest of her life - and forever have to remember the night she lost her best friends. The drunk driver that hit them? Walked away with barely a scratch. Please, don't ever drink and drive. Any drink is too many drinks.
I have an alcoholic dad and when I was young he would drive me and my siblings around and he would swerve and go really fast. It was fun at the time because I was really young and it was like a rollercoaster. But now I realize how scary that is.

why does keith have such a
tiny car, he’s so tall
Hatchbacks usually have an ample amount of headspace compared to sedans and sportscars.
When you are tall and have a smaller car you just kinda get used to it so it stops feeling small

I still think this is one of their most important series. Especially the sleep-deprived and texting ones because people underestimate that even more
“You got this daddy”
“I love reverse parking because people look so hot doing it” (FACTS!!)
“That’s how Wes was born”

Calla Doctor I need a Friend like you. Caring, serious and mature but still goofy.
As a dog lover like Eugene I would've felt like crap for the rest of my life if I ever hit a dog. Both under the influence and sober.
Ned is WAYYY too loving when drunk that he will sleep with his employee who is engaged WHILE he is married

I'm so sorry for your loss. It is sad and people need to be more aware.
It's heartbreaking and infuriating
it is alcohol that makes people behave like demons

My life started when I went for jog
And spotted you in the park
Sitting with a dog
So I stoped and asked, "can I pet your dog?"
(spoken)
And so there we were, me and this golden retriever, basking in the abundance of sun Austin provides. And suddenly you blurted out
(sung)
"This isn't my dog, actually
It's my friend's dog, Sheila
I'm taking care of her while he's away
She's on a lot of medication"
And I laughed, and you laughed
Saying you didn't wanna be found out when you asked me to coffee
That there was no dog
I said yes and you said, "I'm Jase. What's your name?"
And I heard the perfect opportunity
To be someone else entirely
Free from my history
For one single cup of coffee
I would be Natalie
(spoken)
Obviously that's not how it went down. One cup of coffee turned into two bottles of wine, three desserts and staying up talking until four in the morning. Too late to backpedal. Too good not to keep going
(sung)
It felt like my life, but a better version
With you in my life, I was a better person
I heard music in the words you were saying
Melodies with no band playing
For the first time I was in love
And I loved who I was with you
All the mundane shit I used to hate
Like recycling plastic and flossing every day
Making breakfast, paying bills
Watering the plants on our window sill
Was invigorated with your sense of wonder
Pillow talk, afternoon walks
Holding hands in the parking lot of Home Depot
Dealing with inevitable misfortunes that were barely manageable
Like that time we accidentally hit a squirrel with your car
That was an unfortunate anecdote
Do you know what I mean?
It felt like my life, but a better version
With you in my life, I was a better person
I heard music in the words you were saying
Melodies with no band playing
For the first time I was in love
And I loved who I was with you
My parents finally tracked me down
After years of jumping from town to town
They found you and me
Men in suits at our front door
Asking you about Judith Ford
And I knew, instantly
They say before you die
Your whole life flashes before your very eyes
Well, it didn't the first time
But this time I heard each and every lie
I'd ever told you
I tried to cling to the life I'd made together with you
So I did the only thing I knew how to
I denied who I was, because
I wanted to keep my life
But the better version
Natalie, your wife
She was a better person
I memorized your voice
And how you say goodbye
But you never said goodbye
You never said goodbye
And I held on to our life
And who I was with you
Who I was with you
Who I was with you

I got hit by a guy who was texting in August and I'm still in physical therapy.
*Thank you for making this series.*
Im so sorry :( Hope you have a fast recovery! Did the guy get arrested?
I remember Mythbusters proving that texting and driving is worse than drinking & driving..
Hopefully this shows even more people how bad they all are.
I'm so sorry!. best wishes for your recovery!!
Wow really sad, but glad it was all paid for! Just wish he had more consequences though :(
The fact that the doctor is wearing an M&Ms tie is the best thing ever honestly

In reality drunk driving is even harder than this because it is in broad daylight, most drunk driving occurs at night, when your vision is impaired. After a wild drunken night-out the darkness around you mixed with your impaired reflexes and the fact that the darkness makes it easier for you to get sleepy/besides the obvious exhaustion from your drunken endeavors- , are a deadly combination, drunk driving is no joke folks.
Nefeli Malfoy Xaxxaxax.
@NeedsAmmunition No i don't drive, just using common sense. Plus I've seen way too many people die/get injured by drunk driving at night.
exactly just driving at night in general is harder even for sober people
What a well thought out response!
Ned is somewhat frightening when he's driving drunk.

Keith drives too safe, stresses me out"
Ned: *drIVE DRIVE DRIVE LETS GO!*
ned: "Zach drives while reading texts on his phone- stresses me out
Eugene drives with loud music- stresses me out
Keith drives really safe- stresses me out, I drive JUST RIGHT!"
Also Ned: proceeds to break multiple rules while driving drunk.
Take a shot every time Keith says "my car" in this series
And then don't drive

This makes me even more appreciative of my parents, who raised me with zero tolerance towards drunk driving. You drank something, even earlier in the evening? You're not driving. It was just half a glass of beer? Doesn't matter, you're not driving. If you go somewhere and you know you're going to drink, find a designated driver you can rely on not to drink. Don't let people coerce you into drinking "just one drink". That drink may cost you or others their lives and I for one don't think that I could live with myself if I ever killed anyone while under the influence.
It affects a lot of people. Imagine a person not at fault gets hurt. Ruins their family's life. Forever . Your parents are great.
In Sweden it’s illegal to drive with alcohol in your system

The scariest comment was Eugene saying he drives at that level of intoxication and barely felt tipsy then hit the dog and didnt even know. Jeez all of it is terrifying I hope this helps anyone out there not make the decision to drink and drive even if you think you are just tipsy.
This is a very effective awareness video showing the real life consequences (for those who watched it fully)

It's obvious that after Eugene ran over that dog that he felt like a monster...

WHEN EUGENE SAID WHAT HE THOUGHT ZACH WAS SAYING IN HIS TEST RUN AND ZACK ACTUALLY SAID THAT-
A really really good friend of mine, Hannah, died in a drunk driving accident.
Do not. Please.
I’m so sorry for your loss, we must stop drunk driving. We must not allow more good people like Hannah to die that way...
@@THESMOSHTIME thank you. Driving while drunk, or under ANY influence is NOT worth the risks. Not worth the emotional damage. It is NOT FUCKING WORTH IT.

I'm so so sorry... Hugs!
