The camera angle, the white beach and blood ocean with random things sticking out, the night sky, and shadow being over top of a laying down Maria just like shinji and asuka. At first i thought this looked like that and i was like “there’s no way, I gotta be crazy right” but i looked it up again and compared and that’s definitely what they were going for
