This was informative. I'm a writer, and enjoyed this video and watched every minute. Refreshing to see two intelligent readers and editors having a meaningful conversation. Thank you for taking the time to record and post it.

I am so impressed with the lady's poise, her sure hand on the tiller, eyes level, no frozen rime of salt spray in the hair, but dauntless. A leader for a reader grateful for her exposition of the craft said to be heavy lifting from a seated position.

I think more than any other video I've seen about getting published, this one gives me the most hope, only because it demystifies the whole process in a lot of ways. Hope the Slush Pile doesn't spit me out.

It would be very helpful to have the list of authors and the titles of their stories which Daniel circulated. All the stories, of course, appeared in The New Yorker. Will Macken (sp?) is one. The last one mentioned was Sarah ? The others? Thank you.

What's the going $rate$ for a short story published in The New Yorker?

Yikes, how sad and telling about you, that all you got from this hour-long video was two innocuous comments. You somehow turned them into something you perceive to be nasty. We live in desperate times, but I hope your outlook is or gets better.
