I raised 4 kids on their dads income. I made dresses for my girls out of XL women's 2nd hand dresses. I unpacked the seams and saved the buttons and zippers. I made curtains out of 2nd hand bed sheets. I stretched a quarter pound of ground beef to serve 6 people by crumbling it up as it cooked and then just before it turns brown I would put in a few handfuls of old fashioned rolled oats. It doubled the amount and then I could add the spaghetti sauce or whatever like hamburger helper items.
My kids are grown now, but I stayed home too. We got by on one car. If I needed the car, I drove my husband to work. We sometimes took the bus. I sewed a lot of our clothes. I think now, garage sales are cheaper for clothes. We also had a vegetable garden. You can get creative in finding ways to save money. Bartering and trading services with friends can work too.
My husband and I we stay on a budget. I make sure I take care of myself too. It's ok to treat yourself once in a while. You dont have to buy a lot. By the way your hair looks great.
Great video Anne! I have been married since 1992 and can confirm that your tips and guidelines are excellent ❤ I would also suggest praying as you compile a pantry and fridge inventory, and again as you meal plan and shop list. Putting Jesus at the centre of EVERYTHING (even the seemingly mundane stuff). It was lovely to see little Honour! She looks so happy and thriving! She is such a cutie! Sending best wishes and prayers from my home in England to your home in the USA ❤️✝️🙏🏻
Have you thought of having a aunt, sister or relative put your braids in? They will be able to see the back parts and take more time for simple symmetry
I’m a girly girl so I need my appointment to the salon once in a while 😂 but yeah we stay on budget for groceries. Having only one car is perfect for us. We live in Europe so we don’t need to have two cars in fact.
I allowed myself to be talked into going to work when my boys where in kindergarten and second grade. I will always regret it. We could have made it just fine with a few adjustments to our budgeting like you and your husband have done. Wonderful video.
What are some strategic / practical ways you follow as a one income family? Feel free to share your ways below! 😊

Sure, two of my sisters can braid but it gets busy with life. I don't get braids too often! 👍
