- The following is of me watching my friend Anxrali playing through the Nibelheim and Junon demos for FFVII Rebirth (7th and 22nd of February respectively). Due to not having the PS5 set up with my PC yet, this video was filmed "OG-Kabba style" with an iPad, but the rest of my FFVII Rebirth footage was screen-recorded on my PC and with a mic. Despite the lower technical quality, I believe our experience was worth sharing, so I hope you all enjoy the video all the same! 😅
Please note that I forgot to update the Kabbidge count from when I first finished editing - as of the 3rd of May 2024 the Kabbidge count is at 677 (not 667), with 323 (not 333) left til my face reveal! 🎉

Special thanks to @Delkery for their video on how to fix false media offline messages! 💚 I'd finished editing this video weeks ago, but it failed to render and I was getting very frustrated and worried that I'd have to start all over again. Thankfully, after trying and failing multiple solutions I came across their video and it was simply a matter of ticking "use proxy media" (I had to proxy one of the files because I'd moved it into a new folder with the rest of my Rebirth recordings mid-edit), allowing me to finally release my demo footage and get on with editing the rest of my playthrough ~ ruclips.net/video/vh-AxkP62eM/видео.html

I hope you enjoyed playing the demos. I liked playing the part of Junon. Since I could play with my golden trio. By the way, in Rebirth I really liked that they made Aerith stronger. In fights I have her as a leader. I had a lot of fun playing with Aerith and the others. 🌸☁️
I didn’t play the demos (Anxrali did, both for Remake and Rebirth) but I certainly did enjoy experiencing it with my good friend 💚 I’m glad you had fun! I absolutely maimed Aerith the entire time - with her healing and protective magic it made fights a lot easier; it also helps that elemental weaknesses make her high magic affinity almost crucial in May fights 😂

I know right? Since screen recording for FF7FS on my iPad and Elden Ring on my PC, I haven’t needed to do this for much except one-off reaction clips. Revisiting this method of recording made me appreciate how far me and the channel have come over the years ☺️💚

The cat walking past and hitting your head on the piano was what made this video cosy for me. A lot of videos try to be perfect and polished while choosing their charm, but you don't ❤
Thank you! I try to keep my videomaking process as simple and honest as possible, mainly editing out long periods of silence/inaction and awkward gaps between words as my mouth catches up to my brain. Sometimes I’ll edit out some weird or pointless dialogue, but I do try to preserve as much commentary as I can in an appropriate manner. Being authentic is very important to me 😊💚

Same! I used it as often as I could, it’s just so pretty, powerful and fun. The synergy attacks in general are a nice addition to the battle mechanics 🌸✨🔪
@Kabbaway I loved using synergy skills in general. But honestly, I avoided every non-aerith related cloud synergy for the longest time just to be sure I'd keep aerith's affection the highest. Once I got the dates though, I started using all the cloud synergy skills
That was my strategy too. I didn’t see/use them all in my playthrough, but the ones I did get to experience were great

12:12 when it comes to the outfits in the game, i preferred the less revealing clothes in general. Even when it comes to the swimsuits that everyone used to be going crazy about online before the game came out
For sure, I prefer the more modest clothes as well - because they’re less fanservice-y and as a result are also often better designed (eg Advent Children’s outfits). In real life, the revealing outfits themselves wouldn’t be an issue because it’d be people who just happen to wear revealing clothing, choosing to do so for their own comfort/enjoyment. The problem with it here is that these characters aren’t real people - every last pixel was designed by a predominately male (presumably cishet) team, and the cinematography often draws needless attention to certain body parts. These female characters are literally designed and portrayed to appeal to the male gaze, Tifa wasn’t given large breasts for representation sake (an actual defence I saw for it once). I know fiction with characters literally made from scratch is a safer place to explore kinks and such, but it really doesn’t do this story any favours and muddies the messages it’s trying to convey 😕
I think I have to agree with you both in that these games are clunk. Very pretty, but very clunky. In every way. Love these characters to bits, but the whole project feels off and I can't put my finger on why. Looking forward to more of your playthrough!
Editing is taking so long largely because I'm adding annotations, research and supplementary footage/screenshots to elaborate on my initial commentary. My perception was so mixed I'm taking my time to fully consolidate my opinions before sharing them with the world! 😅💚

Honestly, when it comes to tifa in the game, i actually think i like her character, but dont particularly like her "moments."
I think for me, her character had a lot of potential and her struggles are very understandable/relatable, but the way she’s implemented in the plot and marketing is a waste. I’d love if they could commit to taking the time to acknowledge and address her issues, instead of victimising her so she can avoid accountability for her own bad choices. I would be more compelled by her if the devs weren’t so concerned with making her so “likeable” (again for the fanservice) and let her overcome her legitimate flaws.

I really hope the planet gets to recover from Shinra. From what I've seen it's a very pretty world
Me too - Jenova/Sephiroth may be the primary antagonist from a narrative standpoint, but Shinra are the better villains in my opinion. They simply offer the more compelling and relatable moral and thematic discussions. I think the story really suffers from being undercut by making the underdeveloped Sephiroth its primary antagonist
Fully agree with both of you. I want more political commentary but it feels like they're too cowardly to explore those themes and issues beyond basic windowdressing and that sucks

FFVII offers so many opportunities to do just that! I wish it had a heavier focus through condensing the story more, but it’s one of my favourite aspects of it 💚
