i thought the same! but im also curious as to why naomi felt uncomfortable? is it one of those "when people compliment you dont know what to do things" bc ive complimented random people, and i hope i didnt make them uncomfy T~T
hey Naomi! im Korean living in Korea who's your fan hehe I would definitely recommend you doing solo trips in Korea but i might say since you've stayed in Seoul mostly for this trip next time I highly recommend you to visit Busan as well! there's a beautiful beach (its kind of seaside city) also the vibe is very different from Seoul in a very interesting way! also let me know if you need any tips on living/traveling in Korea! I would love to share my point of view of Seoul and also would like to recommend a lots of kinds in Seoul! btw its well known in Korea that 7 eleven is considered as the worst convinence store chain I (and probably most Koreans) would recommend you to go to Gs25 or CU convinence store chain the bakery section is THE BEST also kimbap section is really good, a lot of pb products as well! and for people who is vegan/vegitarian if you go to a bigger convenience store you can easily find vegan bento or vegan warm meals in the section! anyways hope your plan to Korea is going well!! have a nice day xdd
The corn ice cream has actual pieces of cooked corn inside. And Koreans love corn sooooooooo much that they have corn cheese as a side dish and put corn on their pizzas... Even the churro snack you had, the original flavor is corn soup flavor. It is unreal how much corn is used in foods here. I teach English in Korea... It is pretty safe for solo travel, but there are always jerks and some Korean men fetishize Western women, so you'll want to be aware of that. You'll also want to stay in larger cities because smaller areas don't speak much English, if at all. Where I live, hardly anyone speaks English, so if you don't know Korean, doing things alone could prove difficult at times. Busan and Seoul are safe bets for foreigners, but the smaller cities have their charm, too. Gyeongju is quite historical and has BEAUTIFUL scenery. Pohang is a beach town(although there is also a Steel Mill as an eyesore) and has had a few K-Dramas filmed here. I hope if you do an extended stay, you do showcase some of the smaller areas as well. Can't wait to see what you decide!
that's so interesting, what do you think about Ansan? i got the opportunity to study there next year but idk how nice it is to be further away from seoul
@@nerostays I've never been to Ansan, but Wikipedia says it's actually considered part of the Seoul National Capital area. It also says the metro runs from Ansan to Seoul, but you could also take a bus if you wanted. Not sure of the time of travel for those methods, though. Since it's closer to Seoul, more people may speak English. Regardless... Korea is quite small geographically and you can take the KTX from Seoul to Busan in something like 2 or 3 hours, so nothing is really too far from anything else.
There is actually another trash can for liquid in korean convenience stores. However, the trash can have a strainer as you can see, so it might be used for both liquid and trash for this store.
solo traveling is super fun! when traveling ur always bound to other people and their plans and their mood and alone u can always decide when you need a rest, where u wanna go and also go off the planned schedule when u discover something cool by coincidence!
I love solo traveling!! I was scared at first but now I find it so peaceful. You do everything on your own schedule and you get to really just be yourself in a place where no one knows you. It’s freeing. Highly recommend everyone try solo traveling for a bit. Sometimes I do a mix where I travel solo then meet up with friends for a bit too.
I’ve never been to Korea but I’ve solo travelled to Japan twice now for three weeks each. (I’m a woman in my 30s from the US) Solo travel is super rewarding. You get to make plans and decisions for yourself 100% of the time. And I agree that it would be a good way to challenge yourself! Speaking for myself, there were brief moments of loneliness and moments of culture shock/confusion but those come with putting yourself outside your comfort zone and are part of what makes it rewarding.
Yes girl you should definitely go to South Korea again!😍 I recently went to NYC on my own and it was so amazing. Quite challenging, but afterwards you feel like no one can stop you from anything ever again😂
How does one find the courage 😮 I love travelling, but I get easily overwelmed by planning the trip and then being in strange environments by myself which just means anxiety from start to finish with the grande finale being a minor burnout lmao so cool that solo travelling works for you 🥹 I do remember how it makes one feel unstoppable, though those times are long gone for me 🥲 you're a badass 🔥
@@FastMisanthrop Oh no, I'm sorry to hear that. Honestly I do not know how I managed this trip all on my own. I just really wanted to try sth out of my comfort zone. What I can say to you is that you have to believe that you are capable of doing it alone and that you will protect yourself no matter what. If you want to go back to solo traveling why don't you start small and travel near your home town or within the country you live in? and the more you practice that and the more you challenge yourself the easier it will get. And since you mentioned you did it before - what stops you from doing it again? I certainly hope not your anxiety because you got this🤍
@luisa1s I agree! I went to Jamaica on my own and I was so scared, but it was absolutely fine and afterwards, like you said, I felt like I could do anything in the world after that, made me feel very powerful! 😁
Bread specially on Korean 7-Eleven's are EXTREMELY fresh, the stroobewy breb was fresh and it needed to be eaten the moment it was bought, if you wait too long it will go bad, specially if not immediatly put into the freezer

My solo trip to Scotland was one of the best of my life. So much freedom. Making my own schedule. Doing exactly what I want and worrying about no one else. SO COOL. What helped me was knowing someone (I met at an airport another trip lol) who helped guide me and came with me a few times to do stuff, especially as a young woman traveling by myself.
I solo traveled through japan, Korea and Indonesia and right now I’m alone in Beijing and i have to say it’s the best thing I’ve ever done. If you have the chance to do it you should definitely go for it, i learned so much about the city, could do anything i want to and gained so much confidence. You can do it 💜
I spent nearly two years teaching English in Korea, so I completely understand the apprehension to travel alone. I went completely alone and it was months before I made a concrete friend group there. I traveled solo to Japan (twice!) while living in Korea and absolutely loved it! You have the freedom to do whatever you want, whenever you want and everyone in both countries was so incredibly kind to me as a foreigner. I'm married now, but would travel alone again in a heartbeat!
I’m cabin crew so i travel alone all the time. It can be awkward but its so much easier to meet people and get yourself into random situations when youre alone and desperate. The desperation gives you drive to try new weird fun things with random people! Do it for the novelty! And the plot of course. HIGHLY recommend!
I can absolutely recommend going on a trip by yourself. I just recently traveled solo to Peru and it was pretty much the best experience of my life. Even though you start the adventure by yourself, you won't be alone for long, that's for sure. It's acutally crazy how many people you get to know by just traveling on your own.
I solo traveled to New Zealand for over a month and let me tell you, while it is more challenging in many ways alone, you also make SO many memories and meet people that you wouldn't if you were in the comfort of someone else. It is so so so worth it. DO IT!!!!!!!!
Solo traveling will make you feel so powerful and confident ❤ I went to Jamaica on my own last year - I was very nervous at first, but I just made sure I was safe and didn’t put myself in silly situations. It was absolutely fine and would definitely do it again - it was the best form of self care 🙏🏼 I could do whatever I wanted when I wanted without having to think of anyone else 👏🏼
I'm solo travelling to Korea in 3 weeks! I've done tons of solo travel around Europe. I love it! You get to do what you want on your own schedule and meet people and see so much more imo. DO IT!
solo travelling is the most confidence building, humbling, fun experience! i think everyone should do it at least once! it can be challenging but you get to figure out how you handle challenges and stress! do it girl!!!
So I’ve never solo traveled to Korea or Japan but as an American I solo traveled to the UK. I had no previous friends that lived there so trying to get the basic questions asked was a bit harder but after being there for a week I made new friends and saw mainly everything I wanted to see specifically in London. I think solo traveling is the best way to honestly do anything but you get to see the thing you want to see without friend involved wanting to see other things that can end with you having a trip that didn’t feel satisfying
Have solo travelled to Seoul twice and honestly it was a lot of fun! You are in charge of your own time, what you see, what you do, what you eat and just in general can make the trip into your own. Naturally be aware of your own safety and be wise about potential dangers, but overall it is a wonderful challenge and a great way to learn about your own self. A good tip is to research a bit before you go just to have the basics down and/or know what things you for sure wanna do - concerts, museums, events, travel to other cities, etc.
Last month I spent 4 days in Dresden on my own. It was my first time alone in a hostel. But it was super cool and less challenging than I thought. Even though traveling in your own country is a different thing than flying to Korea alone, I can only encourage you to give it a try. It totally enriched me and also made me a bit proud of myself to have tried it out. I would travel alone again any time!❤
Solo traveling is the best way to see a country, you go to the places that you want, eat what you really want without depending on the timings from another person, and yes, eating alone is a thing, but then you look around you and see other solo travelers or nativ persons and they dont really care about the others! Another thing is that you are totally focused on your own trip and i find it super interesting to understand what you really want to do! Pleeeease make a solo traveling
You should definitely do more solo trips, so empowering, relaxing, challenging, and fun at the same time!😍 My first solo trip changed my life and thanks to it I met the love of my life💖 I m so happy I discovered you this year you re such a joy to watch 😁love from France
Travelling solo is the best experience that you can give yourself! It's so fulfilling to know you can do it! I loved my solo travels and you're never alone because you meet so many people!

I really wann go back and see more of your older traditions, when I was there I was more with the younger crowd and the city part, which was lovely but I’d loved to see more!
Yes gurl, do the solo traveling. I‘m doing it right now and it really gets you out of your comfort zone, which is a good thing. Going to a restaurant on your on, or explore the city on your own gets so normal after a while! And you probably won’t be alone the whole time, you’ll meet people 🥰

I solo travelled to Korea for a year, i was only gunna stay a few months and decided to stay longer because i loved it so much. The first 2 weeks i was totally on my own, im a big foodie so eating on my own was new to me but great thing about Korea is everyone keeps to themselves mostly and i felt like no judgement! I just brought a book and enjoyed myself. I eventually made some friends with other travellers and then started working at a bar and had the best time ever there. If you have any questions let me know! I planned and booked everything completely on my own :)

I‘d start with an 2-3 days city trip (my first was hamburg) then you quickly see if it’s the right choice for you ☺️ you‘ll grow & learn a lot about yourself + challenging and overcoming lonelyness makes you so strong and happy with yourself ❤ give it a try 🎉
Hey Naomi.

I'm a fellow german brokkoli and have always, for years at a time, been traveling solo.its such a blessing. You'll find peeps to hang out with if you wan to. Don't worry about being alone.
I'm actually going to China with my classmates because we study Chinese and we all are leaving our homes for five months cause we will be studying there but still, it is a little scary going that far from home all by ourselves, but I'm also so excited to see everything there and I believe it will be a life-changing experience, I hope that you'll be able to go to Korea for a longer period 💕love u Naomi
GIRLLLL you need to do it! I am from MN, USA, and I moved to Shanghai to be an English Kindergarten Teacher. I moved there not knowing anyone and traveled to many places in Asia by myself. It was the best experience I could have ever imagined. I stayed for about 2yrs! If it wasn't for Covid, I probably would be in Japan at this time. You gotta do it!
I went Athens for my first solo trip at 36 and although it is exhausting planning your own stuff it’s worth it! And someone who can’t eat alone I found it so easy abroad! Bring a book make sure your safe and now I feel like can do anything!
Naomi…I don’t know you personally, but I’ve been a fan and subscriber for years. I’ve seen you grow and have enjoyed your content. You’ve gotten me through some hard times and made me smile when I needed it most. Thank you so much and although you may not see this. I solo travelled around Tokyo for 6 days (it was supposed to only be 3, but a typhoon hit Japan while I was there and I got stuck for an extra 3 days) and honestly, I really liked it. Prior to that and for quite a few years now, I've done a lot of things on my own, such as going to the theater, going to restaurants (on many different price levels), and going around different cities on my own. I live in California and drive a lot LOL, so that is a big factor. But I ended up really loving being by myself and exploring places on my own because you get to set your own pace. The number one thing is to have a solid base, as in a solid place to stay that you can find your way to easily, and making sure you remember the name of it if it's a hotel, or keep the business card in your wallet in case you need to take a taxi. A lot of places in Asia have pocket wifis you can rent if your phone company doesn't have an international data plan. I looked very touristy, even though I tried not to, but I always had a spare change of clothes in my bag in the event of emergency (like rain or spillage) when going around a place where I don't have my car, or convenient access to wherever I was staying. It got a little bulky, but a good set of undies and leggings and t shirt are adequate enough. I did some research of places I wanted to go to prior to arriving in Tokyo (I've been there before with a friend and wanted to hit up places we weren't able to go to, and new places as well), but for the most part I just took the train into an area and walked around, taking notes of places I would want to go to later if I didn't have to time that day. I'm also an over packer, so the hardest thing is to pack an adequate amount of clothes that you can mix/match/re-wear, but also look for a hotel that has a washer/dryer amenity, or is near a laundromat. If you plan on going shopping while in SK, I highly recommend going with a small suitcase of clothes for your daily wear, and an empty suitcase for all the stuff you buy. XD I ended up buying another luggage from Don Quijote in Japan because I bought too much. Solo travel is fun, but sometimes it can be a little scary as a femme presenting person. I'd say just make sure to do a good amount of research on places that are safe to stay and travel to. It's fun to make international friends at hostels, but it's also still very important to be cautious of who you talk to an how much information you disclose. viel gluck!!
You can totally travel on your own! It sounds impossible when you imagine the trip as a whole, but when you’re on the journey, you just take one day, one step at a time, and you find it’s so much more manageable that way! Broken down into small chunks, a challenging journey is doable, and you Naomi Jon, can do anything! All the broccoli’s out there can as well!
I went to London alone (I’m from the usa) and LOVED it. You 100% should do it!! You have total control over hour schedule and can change plans at the last minute without upsetting anyone. It’s the best!
I have solo travelled all over the place. Spent 3 months exploring Canada, USA and Hawaii. I would 100% recommend! You push yourself to do things you wouldn't normally do and that is so empowering. I say DO IT!!
Naomi! I went to Seoul by myself for ten days (which was way too short), and I can highly recommend it! It was my first solo trip, and I felt very safe there and had the time of my life. There is so much to see and do in all of the districts! I found it very easy to navigate because there's Wi-Fi pretty much everywhere, and everyone is so, so friendly. Also, I am a shy girl, and having lunch/dinner by myself wasn't awkward at all (you could bring a book or even watch a series/movie on your phone). You won’t regret it!
I solo travelled to Korea when I was 18 (no idea I was insane) for a month and had the best time ever! If you download the right apps get a sim card and a tmoney card its super easy to navigate. Although I was approach by men a few times, that is nothing new and the only time something felt a little unsafe, I'd definitely recommend it as a first solo travel destination!
Absolutely yes - you can travel to S. Korea & Seoul alone. I've been travelling there for over 12 years as a solo female traveler and returning again this fall. I've always made friends, felt safe, made welcome and had the best time just exploring on my own. I'm an obvious looking foreigner & do see the "oh no (or oh YES), do I have to speak English" look on faces. But I always try and speak Korean first, respect the culture, and I just blend in. Happy travels!
A month of solo travel may be too much. Invite friends and different ones for different days of that month will mean you never go more than a week alone
Solo travel builds so much caracter and helped me get to know myself so much ! It made me the person I am proud to be today. You should totally go for it ❤

Naomi! You absolutely have to try solo travel, it is life-changing, and I think you will love it. I was super nervous to do it and felt really awkward but after trying it out I became extremely comfortable in my own company and now I love to take myself on dates for meals, and adventures!
Guuurl, I started traveling by myself last year and I have to tell you that it is the only way to travel for me from now on! It is the best!!! It is such a freeing experience and you have to do in at least once. Try to go somewhere for like 2-3 days before you decide to go somewhere for a month, but I think you would love it. I'm going to Spain for the first time in 2 weeks and I can't wait! 😊
i spent 10 months solo traveling in south korea and if you are staying a month definitely see other places too!! seoul, busan, daegu and also jeju island! (for jeju island it helps if you can drive lol or just be aware of the limited public transport aka only bus and taxi). you could also do different types of travelling - glamping (glamour camping) is super popular in korea, so if you wanna explore that- those would make fantastic videos! cafe hopping, eating new things. ah i wish i could make you a whole intinerary hahahha
Giiiirl, I’m currently solo traveling in Korea! And it’s my 3rd solo trip here! Don’t you worry at all! It is the most convenient and safe place to travel! If you come with open mind, you will def have great time!
I love solo travelling! I still feel a bit awkward at times, especially going to a restaurant, but I'm getting used to it slowly. But travelling alone gives me the freedom to explore what I want however I want - some days are more packed and others I chill more. In a way it's also 'easier' to connect with locals. When you go alone to more crowded places, people tend to be more curious and ask what you're doing there. There are places I wouldn't go alone, but where ever I've been to so far, solo travelling worked out perfectly well - I always got help when needed, too.
last year i went to greece for a week for my first solo trip! I really enjoyed it and recommend it a 100%! even going to the restaurant alone feels less weird after doing it once or twice
I did several solo trips, including 3 months in Alaska, and I can only recommend you the experience ! I've never felt so free, and I still do solo trips once in a while to go on an adventure :) I get that eating alone in a restaurant is a challenge, especially in your own town/city. For me solo travelling is way easier than going on a restaurant or a local show on my own, where I live. Nobody knows you when you're in another country, and if you travel with a backpack, you become a traveller, you know ? Not just a "lonely girl" like you think ppl percieve you. I feel kinda badass and powerful with a backpack. Plus, sleeping in dorms / couchsurfing / meet up /workaways are all experiences you can try if you're scared to be alone. But you're never really alone :) And I'm saying that as an introvert ! Contact is just easier when you solo travel 'cause you have no choice. Again, it also depends on the destination (I've never been to Korea). But you can do whatever you want, whenever you want, and that's an amazing feeling, really. I can only recommend you the journey :)
I travelled alone for the first time when I was 14 (I went to Japan) and it was the best decision of my life. Since then I've travelled alone like 7 more times (6x to Japan and Canada). And let me tell you - travelling alone is amazing. It can be scary at times because you're alone with your thoughts 24/7. You go out by yourself, you go to restaurants by yourself... you're experiencing all these amazing things and you can't immediately share them verbally with a friend or your partner. BUT it's such a deliberating feeling and you get to know yourself SO much more. So to whoever is thinking about going somewhere alone...DO IT :)
Naomi!!!😭 I’ll solo visit Korea in September this year and I feel you so much when you thought about it in the end! It’s going to be my first time and I’m just so excited to experience that but at the same time I’m a little nervous. Although I’m sure I’ll get to know myself all over again and learn how to enjoy stuff more on my own so if you thought about it definitely do it, because what is literally stopping us?!
I did 10days solo in South Korea last year and like you I loved it so much I'm planning to go back (solo) for the whole month of October this year. Solo travel is great, you make friends along the way, but you have to be ok eating out by yourself a lot of the time, that can be hard at first but also becomes fun eventually.
I can definitely recommend solo travelling! It does feel like a muscle you have to train to me though. So I started with a couple days long trip to London. I knew the city already and spoke the language so I didn't feel completely lost by myself. Maybe start with something like to see if you like solo travelling! Having friends to call with during your time alone also greatly helps :)
Solo travel is the best! You can do what you want, when you want. It also makes you more willing to engage and interact with strangers? Which at first sounds crazy, but can open you up to having some really special moments that you'll cherish forever! Also, eating alone can become quite the nice experience! You almost always get a seat at busy places because they can sit you at the bar or wherever, you get to eat what you want, and people watching is great fun! Sometimes it gets lonely. Sometimes you feel awkward. But it's worth it in the end, and the loneliness never lasts. I solo traveled for months across Europe and the Mediterranean, and they were some of the best times of my life so far!
I am a (kinda introverted, not really) solo traveler. I went to Korea on my own 2 times so far (going again in August hihi) and it’s SOOO fun, I don’t think I ever had dinner on my own cuz I made friends there through bumble and social media. There are so many people going alone, most are also looking for people to hang out with ANYWAY I LOVE THE KOREA VIDEOS AND THEY REALLY MADE ME MISS THE COUNTRY

It also says the metro runs from Ansan to Seoul, but you could also take a bus if you wanted. Not sure of the time of travel for those methods, though. Since it's closer to Seoul, more people may speak English. Regardless... Korea is quite small geographically and you can take the KTX from Seoul to Busan in something like 2 or 3 hours, so nothing is really too far from anything else.
i tried the corn ice cream it’s actually really delicious
@@jumpingSpiders I honestly like it, too. Much more than corn on pizza...lol

It’s freeing. Highly recommend everyone try solo traveling for a bit. Sometimes I do a mix where I travel solo then meet up with friends for a bit too.
Naomi is THE main character 🫶

DO IT!
I am so jealous! I wished I could do that too but my dad would never let me eventhough I'll turn 22 this year
Naomi is literally just cosplaying herself
solo travelling is the most confidence building, humbling, fun experience! i think everyone should do it at least once! it can be challenging but you get to figure out how you handle challenges and stress! do it girl!!!
Girl I solo traveled to Greece and it was the best month of my life. Making friends as you go is the best part!! I think you will love it!!
I would travel alone again any time!❤
I just went solo travelling to Korea and Japan this past april, I loved it! you should do it!
I laught so hard when you went in the store and then jungkook's voice came😂😂💜

Solo traveling is the best way to see a country, you go to the places that you want, eat what you really want without depending on the timings from another person, and yes, eating alone is a thing, but then you look around you and see other solo travelers or nativ persons and they dont really care about the others! Another thing is that you are totally focused on your own trip and i find it super interesting to understand what you really want to do! Pleeeease make a solo traveling

Hey Naomi.

Early broccoli!
I'm so excited for more Korea videos❤
You can totally travel on your own! It sounds impossible when you imagine the trip as a whole, but when you’re on the journey, you just take one day, one step at a time, and you find it’s so much more manageable that way! Broken down into small chunks, a challenging journey is doable, and you Naomi Jon, can do anything! All the broccoli’s out there can as well!

YEEESSSSS IVE BEEN WAITING FOR THIS ONE🙀🙀🙀
I solo travelled to Korea when I was 18 (no idea I was insane) for a month and had the best time ever! If you download the right apps get a sim card and a tmoney card its super easy to navigate.

Solo traveling is so freeing girl! I always brought a notebook or book whenever I felt awkward eating alone. Makes you feel busyyy
Girl, 14? How?!
I went to language school in Tokyo and stayed with a Japanese host family for 6 weeks :)
Girl how can you be so good at styling!!!💞💞
