Only after this story I understand the meaning of this dress. It seemed so regular, but wow, what a story behind it. I have literally goosebumps.
I thought it was a very understated dress, esp. compared to what so many others wear, but now knowing the meaning, wow!

Ive been to several native-centered events this year, Lily is inspiring so many people in Montana!! We're so proud, she's up there with Myrna Loy & is one of the most famous Montanans ever! Ive heard her mentioned so often, just last weekend my son's college graduating class was nearly 20% native 🎉🎉🎉 and Lily was referenced quite a bit!
The story of her Met dress was simply awesome! And the honour she got from her people - so well deserved. I'm looking forward to seeing more of her work and the artists that make her outfits!! ❤

What a beautiful interview! Indigenous peoples should be totally respected and honored! Their deep connection to the elements, their knowledge and perspectives are truly spot on the money from health, hunting, fishing to moral beliefs, and honoring their ancestors.
