Wow! What a terrific batik video. You are a real pro!
I love your fabric so much my dear, cause a student of art and design
I had no idea batik was a tradition in Ghana as well as here in my native Indonesia (and Malaysia too). So awesome that our cultures share this beautiful artistic tradition. Thanks so much for sharing, the designs are very beautiful!
The art of batik making is traditionally Indonesian but was introduced here some years ago. But we currently make the stamps out of traditional Ghanaian symbols from the Akan tribe known as Adinkra symbols and to add that we have the Adinkra fabric making which is also similar to batik making
@@ghanaianwanderer Wow that is amazing. Thanks for sharing! Are there any common motifs in the Adinkra symbols, like from nature? Flowers are one of the design themes used in Malaysian batik. So cool that we have such similar cultural traditions despite being so far apart on Earth!
@@lenanana8 that's right cultural similarities exist despite the distance. Yes, some of the symbols have symbols like the leaf which stands for Patience. If you want to see other symbols and their meanings you can Google Adinkra Symbols Ghana and you will see more of them
Batik fabric print is as well as my native Western India
@@ghanaianwanderer in nigeria we have our form, which is called adire, it is native to yorubas
Love your work you taught me a new way to apply wax to my fabric it is block printing but using wax not paint then dying the fabric...I usually try using two or three colours and have them create other colours

Hello dear
How did you make the wax mixture, is it just wax or you added something else in the wax?
Thanks
Hi, please it's just wax. The color looks darker because it's wax that has been reused
Very good
Thank you

@@ghanaianwanderer Thank you 🙏
I have a question. How do you put the waxed fabric in the hot dye without melting the wax?
The wax is used to Stamp then it is dyed with the dyes and later boiled in hot water to remove the wax to reveal the beautiful patterns ❤
All is good but one thing I would like to know that Before soaking in colour water ,they did colored with a sponge ,,,,what the name of that colour ???
It's actually wax for making the designs
Hello, here's another video to help you in making your own batik
ruclips.net/video/Oqu9LBj0_ng/видео.html
The candle wax I bought is white and dis is colored
Can you mix color into your wax?
And also I tried my foam stamp n notice that it sticked on the table as well n I had to pull my fabric off the table with some force….after following d dyeing process I didn’t even see my batik designs any more
Kindly help
The hot wax will definitely let the fabric stick to the table you work on. The wax looks this way because when it gets old it becomes darker
Thanks so much I wish to join u in ur work
Yes, you can do . If you are in Accra, Ghana
Can you make a video about how to make that seal.. 😁🙏
I will try and do this please
Please can you share there location
Hi. I will like to get trained.
Please I want to know if I am going to wash the cloth before applying the pattern or just a dry clothe
You not replying me
Dry cloth please
nice
Thank you
Pls where in Accra will I get tie and dye material to buy
Check @enyobrukutravels on Instagram
Can one outside Ghana buy your batiks or rather do you sell the batiks to other countries?
Yes kindly check out @enyobrukutravels on Instagram
Please ma what are the chemicals used in mixing before dipping in the foam?
It’s actually just wax used. You dip the foam in wax. It looks dark because it has been reused over and over
Doesn’t the hot dye mixture melts the wax?
I don't dip it into hot dye. I use the hot water for dewaxing after dying the fabric and waiting for it to dry up. Then I dewax with the hot water to remove the wax and then the pattern is revealed
I want to learn more about batik
Are you in Ghana if yes I can organize a class for you
