I was 17 hitchhiking home after a surf with my board just up from cronulla high school at the Wanda end , l was so upset then ('''73) at what they were doing with sandunes . A sand truck was coming toward me and l threw quite a big stick at it , the stick went in through the open passenger window ldont know if hit the driver , it was oh no l jumped the fence to the golf course with my board ran for my Life as fast as l could ,,the airbrakes of the truck screaching to a halt, l ran and ran but didn't look back . I got to the edge of a green hid behind some bushes to survey the land , a voice behind me cheerps "my lad you were in hurry"" , l looked behind me and there were 4 retired looking golfers with the hugest grins witnessed what just happened .
Needless to say l was a wee bit embrassed, l contained my anger after that and put it to public protests .. instead .

Live in the shire most of my life, best place in the world.
The sand was sold, it was a thousand times bigger than what it is now. pathetic sell off and should not have happened.
