  • Groin pain can come from many things, so it’s important to get a proper diagnosis. Groin pain can be from an adductor strain, labral tear, hip impingement, hip arthritis, or a sports hernia. These simple stretches and exercises should help relieve the pain. Buy a worksheet with these groin stretches & exercises: www.askdoctorjo.com/product/g...
Stretching out the groin area in a modified position, like the supine butterfly stretch, can help loosen the muscles, but not put too much tension on them.
Isometric hip adduction is often much less painful when first starting to strengthen the adductors/groin muscles.
Then a progression of strengthening is sidelying hip adduction.

I have a sports hernia, these are very helpful. I definitely have a lot of tension/weakness in my groin area despite being very thin/active and in otherwise good health. I do believe the weakness/tension in the area contributed to the development of the hernia. I am healing it without surgery, or at least trying to, via yoga and some very peculiar stomach exercises, which are helping control the symptoms so far.

For weeks I’ve felt like my groin area needs to pop. I usually pop it on my own and it doesn’t hurt too bad but since I tore my meniscus, im afraid to move my knees and leg to relieve the pressure because I don’t wanna feel pain or discomfort in the knee. I’ve been walking weirdly and not being able to straighten my knee so I’m sure that’s the reason I have pain in that area and needing to feel a pop to feel better

I've been wondering if I can use my bed with a medium firm mattress to do these exercises. Finally, your videos answered my question. Most videos I saw were on a clinic table so I am using a yoga mat on the floor at home which I always find uncomfortable. I've been suffering SI joint pain. Will search this in your channel. Thanks Doctor Jo!
