Interview with BENJAMIN BERNHEIM about FAUST

C’est l’histoire d’un homme qui, arrivé au crépuscule de sa vie, ne souhaite qu’une chose : retrouver sa jeunesse. Il y parvient à l’aide du diable et en échange de son âme. Personnage aux multiples facettes, le rôle de Faust dans l’opéra éponyme de Charles Gounod exige à la fois d’incarner la vieillesse désenchantée mais également de prêter sa voix à un jeune homme romantique et amoureux. Le ténor Benjamin Bernheim nous explique toutes les subtilités vocales de la partition et revient sur la grande tradition du chant français, sans oublier de rappeler sa relation privilégiée avec l’Opéra national de Paris.

Where can we see it? I think he is the best French opera singer at the moment.... Of course I will be patient for his Don Carlos or Hoffman but so glad to hear the Robert Thill kind of French opera singing back.
