@@feelingnifty I see it embossed as well or with some gold metallic print or foil maybe. I've always wondered if anyone paints their own cards, publish them and then sell on Etsy etc. I had a neighbour who was good at art, she was self taught and I always thought it's a shame she didn't do something like that but she was in her 70s. She used to print off her paintings, mostly animal ones on plain paper and sell as a pack of notelets though.🙂
@@twilighttortoise it’s a wonderful idea for artists and Etsy is a great place to showcase and sell your creations. Have you talked to your neighbour about this idea too? I believe you’re never too old to start something. Your greeting card idea reminded me of a famous Canadian Artist named Maud Lewis who began selling her art as greeting cards I believe( or one of their first ways she did). When Maud was a child, her mother encouraged her to paint Christmas cards depicting festive winter scenes which she sold door to door. Thank you again for the lovely 💡🙏❤️
@@feelingnifty Yes, it's great that there are websites nowadays for folks to sell their own creations on! Thanks for your info on the artist Maud Lewis as well... I will look her up and her Christmas art. 🙂 My neighbour though... she passed on 3 years ago after an illness. She was like her own one woman gift shop as well, her home, I used to say that to her... she used to make other craft items as well and sell them on... I think a lot of it as well was to keep busy, she never wasted any of her time. 🙂
@@twilighttortoise she sounded like a lovely lady. It’s a good thing to keep busy, keeps you out of trouble 😂 And it sounds like she enjoyed crafting and painting. Thank you for sharing her story. ❤️🙏
Hi! I attempted this and did ok. However, you don't show how you sized and outlined the shoe prints! Can you tell me best way to do them. I'm doing this stuff for first time ever and appreciate your detailed steps.
Hi Meg, thank you for your question! To the shoe print can be painted with the top part is like a long oval shape, then the bottom part is like a small square/oval. Overall it kind of reminds me of an exclamation point, if that helps visualize it. Also the footprints are larger towards the bottom of the canvas and they get smaller as the move into the distance ( which will give the illusion of depth too). I hope that helps. Let me know if you need any more clarification on it though.
Beautiful, and so much fun to watch!
Glad you enjoyed it!
That's beautiful... it would make a nice Christmas card published as part of a set IMHO. 🎄
Thank so much🙏❤️! Thats a great idea, I will look into that.
