The rarest mistake Lego I’ve ever had was from the Space Shuttle Discovery set. I got 2 copies of Bag 14 and no Bag 4. Called support, super friendly and apologetic, sent me a new bag free of charge that came direct from the factory in less than a week. The only other mistake I’ve come across was, at nearly the same time, when I was building the Saturn V. One of the 2x2 rounded slopes hadn’t been formed properly so it wouldn’t fit and I didn’t wanna mash it in there obviously. Thankfully I had a spare in my random parts bin and swapped it out, just glad it wasn’t one of the printed ones
52:05 The 1x1 clip that they say is illegal is an older design where the prongs can't flex as much (Bricklink Part Number 2555) but there is a newer version that shares the same shape as the clip on the right which has a narrower base (Bricklink Part Number 15712) If you look closely you can see that the instructions show the newer design for the prongs of the clip.
40:40 I had this exact Lego advent calendar purchased a few years ago. Opened up day 1 to find legs, torso, wands, And hair…. Yep nearly headless Nick turned into entirely headless Harry lol. in most of these sets, the creators made a mistake when creating the graphics or used a different brick color. We have to forgive them for this. I appreciate solutions such as the creators adding two figures in the "Dojo Showdown" set. So let's remember what work LEGO creators do and let's appreciate it. And in the case of "Ninjago City", it is possible that the creators wanted to include a secret so that someone would find it one day. Respect to whoever did it.

I heard that plate between studs is illegal, so they don't use it, but tile between studs is still legal because of the groove that tiles have so it doesn't make stress on the bricks so its legal and thus lego keeps using it
I found something wrong in the instructions to set 40713 the Japanese Postcard. It says on page 50 that you need 5 black 4X12 plates, but you only need 4 and you only get 4.
There are actually medical situations where you might put an IV bag upside down. They don't have air in them, so a quick way to pause an IV delivery if the patient doesn't have a canula in with a valve is to just turn the bag upside down. It's unusual for a patient to be on IV without a canula, but in an emergency situation where speed is crucial, usually in an ambulance setting, they can be hooked up without one.
For that one box that had wonky printing, I don't know how Lego prints their boxes, but if it's similar to how other paper printing works, the sheets of paper run through different rollers with the individual colors on them, if the paper isn't lined up right you get that weird dizzy look.
Not sure if it’s touched upon in this video, but the LEGO Star Wars LAAT UCS set had an error when it initially released where they put the IMPERIAL cog on the box instead of the REPUBLIC cog. They ended up fixing it for later releases but it’s still interesting to point out.
Their modern quality control is amongst the worst. Almost every new piece has deep scratches and dents. The older pieces didn't. They don't even hide the pouring holes anymore...

At 51:53 I'm pretty sure the image you are referencing is not a studless tile, but a 2x2 plate. You can tell because the flat tiles have the ridge on the underside to make them easier to remove, and the tile in that specific example lacks the ridge, therefore it would be a studded plate. So, I believe the technique on the jet is actually legal.
This set isn't even out yet and it has an error. On the new transformers bumblebee set, if you look at the 360 video in the product images, the jetpack/windshield is placed where the license plate should be in robot mode and isn't folded like it's supposed to be. All the other images have it placed in the correct spot and folded properly
I've had the folded over, not cut properly error on Lego instructions before. I can't remember which set though. I think I cut them with scissors to fit, it was only a handful of pages in a big booklet.
The only mistake I ever encountered was in the Icons Defender set (10317). While installing the offroad exoskeleton, the front part attaches onto the front side wings of the car. When you remove the exoskeleton, there are some exposed studs on the right hand side that on all the box art is covered up with a grille made up of a 2x2 corner plate and a grille piece. The instructions don't feature this step though and you're just left with these two pieces not knowing where they go if you follow it by the book.

The very first Santa Fe Super Chief locomotive had an error, but they caught it & shipped it with the fix. They had packaged the wrong color 3L & 4L bars & the instructions had the same error. I literally got a separate packet with the correct color, & a separate lone instruction page shipped alongside the set.
I dont know if this mistake was in another video, but the Ferrari Daytona, the large fancy one thats akin to the Bugatti, Lamborghini, and Porsche, was absolutely riddled with mistakes. I remember watching all of the issues unravel themselves, mostly from Racing Bricks perspective
I love that you make these types of videos! It makes me feel so much better. I used to get so frustrated because I thought I was doing something wrong. Because of you I know its not me. You have made me enjoy Lego builds more. Now I laugh at he mistakes. Maybe you could do a video on Lego instruction hacks, i.e. check the pictures on the following pages, sometimes you just have to spot the difference, turn the build around, etc.
Hey spit, i dont know which carriage it was but in set 60051 in the instructions for that carriage they tell you to build the bogies first and then the middle part on the underside, however when you are told to connect the bogies the middle part is already there, and in the next step you build it
In lego set 21260 the cherry blossom garden there is a mistake in the instruction on page 56 it says to use 5 bricks when you only have 4 left and page 57 says to use 2 when you only have to use 1
The biggest error I ever encountered in a lego set was in the Epic Dragon Battle ninjago set from like, over a decade ago. I remember there were two whole bags missing (one bag with the minifigures and then one with some pieces for the brick jail cell) and I had to call in and get them both replaced
Got a new one for you! The Lego Star Wars Invisible Hand, set 75377, has a small error in the instructions. On page 62, step 107, it instructs you to place 3 of the 2 wide single stud plates, but in the image, the red outline showing the new parts outlines 4, including a piece placed 3 steps earlier
51:40 that's not an illegal building technique. The guide at 51:52 shows how combining a PLATE with a clip is illegal, however using a TILE is perfectly fine, as seen at 52:00.
Additionally, the tile in that PARTICULAR clip is illegal, because those are the old design of 1x1 tile with clips, the newer design looks more like a minifig hand and has no such issues.
Great video, I never noticed them myself! However, i just want to point out that the saturn V`s 1x2 tile shoved in between the stud is pretty much legal, because tiles are thiner than plates, making this technique legal. Like the tile wedged between the studs in the Hounted house set (10273) In the grave part of the set.
i havent watched the video, but that thumbnail is from the Fender Stratocaster lego ideas line. that specific instruction is part of building the amplifier to pair with the guitar, specifically the circuitry.

However, i just want to point out that the saturn V`s 1x2 tile shoved in between the stud is pretty much legal, because tiles are thiner than plates, making this technique legal. i havent watched the video, but that thumbnail is from the Fender Stratocaster lego ideas line. that specific instruction is part of building the amplifier to pair with the guitar, specifically the circuitry.
