This is such a sympathetic and wonderful renovation! Giving this house back it’s character and creating such a warm, lovely and individual, home. Thanks for sharing it!
Love love love, Emma. I can’t believe you left the Marion Victorian! But girl, mid century West Coast looks good on you! This is such a refreshing change from what we typically see if Vancouver
Awesome job, absolutely love it. I re-did our kitchen and put in a Blanco faucet and sink. I really liked both of them but the sprayer handle started to crack and it got worse and worse until it broke off. I reached out to Blanco’s customer service via email and they gave me a number to call to buy a replacement part. Every time I called, I was on hold for about 15 minutes, then got an automated message to leave my name, phone number and issue, which I did. After several months of calling with no one ever calling me back, I finally gave up and bought a new faucet. NOT Blanco this time!! Hopefully, you’ll have better luck with your faucet than I did with mine!
Awesome transformation! This really created a sense of renewal and inspiration for the home owner and for those who wants to renovate their homes before 2024. 🥰✨
While I love the after, I really hope that they were able to donate the cabinets and appliances. They honestly look a little dated but nothing too bad. It also shows how even if you invest in the most expensive stuff, everything looks dated after 20 years now--it is a joke to consider anything to be timeless. In a weird way, they increased the odds by making things look like they were from the 70s and not the 90s.
Uh.Mah.Gah, House & Home?! How have you managed to leave this unique piece of jewel out of your annual contest? ...I actually got an answer for that: Simply because it has no competition. Right?! Right!
I love the kitchen and pantry/closet wall, really great choices. I don’t know if I could embrace the dark walls and ceiling in the family room, but I love everything else in the room. Curious how the powder room marble sink will do over time, will it age badly.
The old kitchen was fine. The new one is ok. I’m a end 70’s girl and I don’t need to stay in the same era. What I want to mean is nobody will redo entirely a house is functional and it doesn’t make your eyes bleed. Only designer will redo it all! 🤫
This is a house that a termite loves! The dark ceiling really makes everything darker and shrinks the rooms. Claustrophobic in the extreme. If you love this check out cabins made of cedar-on the roof, on the walls, counters, ugh.
Nothing better than wood inside a house. I love dark colours especially black but this is beautiful. Love the symmetry and those lines
Natural materials are the best.
Agree!

I love this reverse update. Bringing it back to its original style was totally the right move. It's new yet original...best of both worlds.
These changes feel more authentic to the style of home, yet still fresh.
About time BC homes are featured on this channel. More BC homes, please!!!
Wow, what a transformation. Opening up the doorways makes such a difference! I have recently put in Meile appliances too. Love them ❤
A beautiful, creative renovation.
It is a stunning reno.
Not usually crazy about mid century design but this place is stunning ❤
Emma Reddington and her family have a beautiful home.

The new kitchen is fine but I actually love the look of the old kitchen
I love the cork on the ceiling. We have similar cork on a feature wall in our home. I will now consider using it on the ceiling in another room!
What an amazing difference - so beautiful!!
Lovely. Couldn't agree more re stainless steel appliances. They can be cold and overwhelming, and remind me of an autopsy room.
This reno is a beautiful evocation of Vancouver - it reminds me of the work of an architect I knew back in the day. He'd definitely approve.

I could totally live here. Well done.
what a home! the taste of this family is immaculate
Wow, the rest of the renovation is stunning as well. The cozy and darker family room looks amazing.

Agreed…I think with a coat of paint and new hardware, the old cabinets would look great. And I didn’t even mind the old countertops.
In love with this house.
SWOON!
Beautiful.
Spectacular place, I ❤ everything!
What an amazing home!! I love it!!
Absolutely love it
Beautiful work! I love the kitchen but I do hope you repurposed those maple cabinets!
Not just a renovation but a vision! Excellent!

such agreat transformation
Beautiful. What was the final cost of the renovation?
The previous state of the house isnt bad. Its someone's home with different style...
Are the new cabinets walnut? What was the finish used?
What a stunning renovation. Truly inspiring to work with the original Era of the home-
. Bravo
Home run
Wow
cork ceiling, no molds?
Beautiful! So artistically done.
where can that soaker bathtub be purchased?
Anybody know where is part 1 ????
I don't think I heard what material the new kitchen countertops and stove backsplash are.
Black soapstone:)
❤
My dream home 😍
not my taste, but this place is original and cozy
Cool chick
Transformation?
she really dissed the previous owners and their style lol

Not true. I remodeled my whole house and designed it myself. Better flow
The new floor doesn’t match with the rest of the kitchen … it’s quite dark house …. Not my favorite m…
The floor is not pretty at all. It looks its back in the 70's
Beautiful, ( like the 60’s) but is going to look outdated so fast.
Not so. Mid-Century Modern is a classic design style and will not "go out of style." Sure it might be trending as well, but it has staying power.

No, cedar can actually repel bugs.
