Theres a difference in buying your Ferrari outright after working hard in your life and winning one in your twenties. Its wrong to perceive those individuals as equals.
Nob loses all credibilty, disappointed tery didn't call him out. City spent 1 year in league 2, city were and are a prem team without sheikh, what city wouldn't be is title contenders.
@calvinwilson1022 I know they didn't you mong its 5 seasons just to go league 2 and straight back to prem which city didn't do. Like I said they only got established in the premier league around 2008 with the thai owner we all know how that ended up. Before then it aint even fair to call them a yoyo club because their periods out of the league were to long. Hope that helps on your quest for football history
He gave his shares in Liverpool to Eric Sawyer, financial director of Littlewood’s, and he recognised the eternal truth in football that you need to spend to be successful. With Shankly in his ear, Sawyer set Liverpool along a path to greatness. Up until that point, Liverpool’s famous “history” had been underwhelming. They had won five league titles and no FA Cups in their 68-year history, one more trophy than City, with one league title and three FA Cups - in an era when the cup was more prestigious than the league. Liverpool were a second division club but started spending money like a first division giant, They splashed out £37,500 on centre forward Ian St John from Motherwell, and quickly followed that with £30,000 on centre half Ron Yeats from Dundee United.
Arsenal would not exist if they hadn't been bought by a at the time one of the richest people in the country in tge 1930s They had an awful ground and hardly any fans. They were bought. The owner changed the name from Whoolich built Highbury and moved the club to north London. Then made record signings breaking the transfer records at the time. Then paid his way into league 1 at the expense of Spurs. This was thier most successful era where they won the most titles and established themselves as a big club. Because of money. Yet Arsenal fans always talk shit about Chelsea and City. Chelsea was already well established as a top club especially in the years before Roman bought the club due to the success of Gullet, Vialli etc
@wayneholness6090 Oh yeah for sure he was the catalyst for that new era of Chelsea. He laid the foundation for the improvement in the team In the 90s. Winning the FA Cup. Some European cups etc even came close to winning the UCL. I think that is the reason Roman bought the club. He saw how close we were to being a club that could compete for league titles and UCL trophy's so was worth the investment. Without the impact Mathew Harding had on the club I don't think Roman would have bought Chelsea at all.
To the fans that genuinely believe in the 'organic' way of building a football club, fair play to them. It's their way of seeing things. But i think for most fans, those buzz words like 'fake fans' or 'plastic club' just stem from jealousy. They would like their owner to be ambitious and be winning driven. In order for Manchester city, RB Leipzig, Hoffenheim, Leverkusen to be somewhat successful and kind of catch up to the big dogs of their league, they had to fast-forward their development by having a big financial influx. Of course, that model may have downsides. But which models don't? Also, if we dig all the big club's history, like Real Madrid, Bayern, Barcelona, Man Utd, Liverpool, Milan clubs or Juve. We might find some questionable financial disparity.

You don't go from prem straight to league 2 though do you? City only became established in the prem with their original sugar daddy
Shinavatra was the original rich owner of City, amd yes you wouldn't be in League 2 but you would be a yo yo club.
@@dannyfarrington3788 no they didn't 😭🤣 someone needs to learn actual football history

It's not about rich owners but ambitious owners who want success...and Americans have no AMBITION but profit
I thought Mason Mount to man u or Werner to spurs were the better business for Chelsea
Yes your right it’s called jealousy every football fan in the world would change there tune if they got them sort of owners 😂
I should not.
I will give the simple answer to the question. It is jealousy

What about just before that? Matthew Harding bought all those players

Real Madrid, Liverpool, Milan and Juventus for sure.
@@MrReeealistMadrid for sure. Investigated by the EU and proven corrupt.
The reality is now you have to spend to win consistently
It's always been that way. United and Fergie spent more than anyone during their prime and broke the most transfer records.
@bluemoon1716 yep
Big clubs also compete more. If city only had to play league 2019 squad would have won 7 in a row.
The difference is source of investment.
